SOLOMON BENTLEY:
Greetings everyone, we hope that you all are having a fine Saturday evening wherever you happen to be watching around the world. Here in Yokohama we’ve had a night of some of the best mat wrestling you’ll find.
Kai Harrison nods as the camera pans to the well-dressed former wrestler.
KAI HARRISON:
Tonight was a night where we had two foreign competitors show how it’s done. Jimmy Winner scored his first fall and he did it versus KOSUKE in the first round. Also in the first round, David Lee Sellers used his size advantage over Satoshi Kamakura.
SOLOMON BENTLEY:
Don’t forget about that incredible submission match between DARK FEATHER II and “Starboy” Toyama.
KAI HARRISON:
DARK FEATHER II is quite the fighter. He took BLADE Takano to the limit in kickboxing and scored an upset victory over Toyama, an accomplished wrestler. It just goes to show you, when you get down on that mat, anything can happen.
SOLOMON BENTLEY:
Anything, indeed. The monster duo from Buck U continued their run amok here along the Shining Road. Kraken proved that even sea monsters can fly when he landed a moonsault press on the veteran Nagata. After that performance, it was announced that on the 7/22 show we will see the Falcon Hamada and Kaito Matsushita make their V1 defense of the GPWS Tag Team Championship against the gaijin duo!
KAI HARRISON:
They are only 2-0, but the victories have been against the most impressive competition here. If anyone has earned a shot at the A.R.M.B.A.R. duo, it’s these two titans of Buck U Productions.
SOLOMON BENTLEY:
We also saw the debut this evening of Big Cage Mike in singles competition against Ikki Yanagi. Mike absorbed five Ikki Lariats that left his chest bruised like a pulp, but the SAKURA gundan superstar proved why he’s one of the best in the business.
KAI HARRISON:
Personally, I think this Big Cage Mike guy has a screw loose. After the third Ikki Lariat, he spit out a tooth and just started laughing!
SOLOMON BENTLEY:
We also had a very special matchup between Makoto Ueno and Julian Cutlass, the King of Lions Champion of our sister company, Lion’s Road Pro-Wrestling. This match ended in a draw after the fifteen-minute time limit expired.
KAI HARRISON:
That’s right, Solomon. Ueno worked Cutlass hard with a lot of takedowns, but Cutlass’ striking saved him here. Ueno took a shot to that orbital bone that looked scary! Still, neither man could put down the other. I’d love to see a rematch between these two someday.
SOLOMON BENTLEY:
At this time we’d also like to announce that Shining Road Pro-Wrestling will be sending two fighters to the FUSION supershow on 7/29 in the United States along with Lion’s Road, SKYFIRE, and Seattle Pro-Wrestling. We’ll have the GPWS Junior Heavyweight Champion in action, be it Thunder Mask or BLADE Takano, defending the title against Kaito Matsushita. Additionally, under MMA rules we’ll see Hiroyuki Fukudome square off against KOSUKE.
KAI HARRISON:
Kaito “Masakari” Matsushita is an impressive fighter. He’ll be a handful for BLADE Takano or Thunder Mask. And you know that KOSUKE is going to look to bounce back from his freestyle wrestling loss tonight. He’s got some great kicks and, despite tonight’s performance, a decent wrestler in his own right. Fukudome is one of the finest strikers around but he’s a rookie when it comes to MMA. It’s going to be a wild night in the good ole U.S. of A.
SOLOMON BENTLEY:
I’m sure they’ll represent us well back stateside. Kai, who do you have with the Fighting Spirit Award?
KAI HARRISON:
Gotta be the team from Buck U Productions. You’re gonna want to purchase a “Krak-n-Mack” t-shirt from the merchandise stand on the ground floor of the Bushidokan. They’re going like hot cakes!
SOLOMON BENTLEY:
And there you have it, folks. Next week is the finale of the BATTLE VARIETY SERIES and we’ll have some great MMA on the card. Falcon Hamada and the “Last Warrior” Yoshihiro Sawamura will be headlining while “Mr. Meiji” Masayoshi Arimoto will square off against the giant “King Temba” Damien Turlan. And Takeda “Sniper” Izumi will do battle against the wily veteran Toru Ishii. Plus, Thunder Mask defends the GPWS Junior Heavyweight Title against BLADE Takano! It’s sure to be a packed house and we will show clips of the matches on next week’s edition of the Review! See you next week!
