The scene opens to a stage in the Bushidokan. It is elevated and the ring can be seen in the background. The fans have poured out of the arena. Solomon Bentley and Kai Harrison sit at the table.
SOLOMON BENTLEY:
Greetings everyone and welcome to Yokohama! We had a raucous night down at the Bushidokan where the shootfighting matches took centerstage. Kai, help us breakdown the action.
KAI HARRISON:
We’d see the amateur format take centerstage. Makoto Ueno and Masayoshi Arimoto, two men with prestigious backgrounds as amateur wrestlers, respectively defeated Kraken and the noted kickboxer Takeda Izumi!
SOLOMON BENTLEY:
In catch/submission wrestling rules, we found the “super-rivals” Takeshi Morimoto and Ikki Yanagi in the ring together. This one was exciting.
KAI HARRISON:
That it was. These two grappled to “ooohs” and “ahhhs” from the crowd this evening. It’s obvious they don’t like each other. You could nearly feel the animosity oozing out of their pores. Neither fighter could end this fight during the rounds and it went to the judges where Takeshi Morimoto would advance! A brilliant fight.
SOLOMON BENTLEY:
Brilliant, indeed. And in the last match of the night, Yoshihiro Sawamura found himself outmatched in the boxing ring against Hayato “Falcon” Hamada! Sawamura absorbed seven rounds of punishment and after the match was taken to the hospital. We can report now that he is in stable condition but doctors are going to keep him overnight.
KAI HARRISON:
Let me tell you something, Solomon. Sawamura stood in there and showed the fans that he truly is the “Last Warrior”. Sawamura is a judoka who doesn’t have boxing bone in his body, but he hung in there and showcased the fighting spirit that is what the World Pro-Wrestling Tournament is all about. The fans were on their feet watching Sawamura fight with pride.
SOLOMON BENTLEY:
The format will transition back to pro-wrestling rules for an incredible semifinals. We’ll have both of the Super Moto Brothers in the semis. It will be Shining Road sekigun vs. SAKURA gundan when “Mr. Meiji” Masayoshi Arimoto and Makoto “Kamakiri” Ueno square off. Takeshi Morimoto will face the fearsome MMA fighter Falcon Hamada, as well. You won't wanna miss it!
