SAM HEWITT
From Kenosha, Wisconsin! The site of last year's Iron Road final! Hello fight fans, I'm Sam Hewitt joined by Chad "The Gopher" Gomez.
Gomez gives him a quizzical look.
CHAD GOMEZ
I'll let that one slide.
SAM HEWITT
Chad, we've got three bouts lined up, one of which sees a newcomer to Lion's Road but certainly not to pro-wrestling - "The Bullet King" Alex Kincaid go up against a tall order in the form of the Heritage Heavyweight Champion Alexander Irvine. That's the first bout in this year's edition of the Iron Road - a four man round robin tournament. Our other two bouts continue the Summer Tag League, a tournament in which a team must win two matches to advance to the next stage. We had the first League match take place this past Sunday evening on Star Zone. Let's take a look.
SAM HEWITT
So weeks after battling one another to a time limit draw, Kevin Moss and Mark Storm team up and score a victory over an established tandem in the Sinister Enclave to earn their first win of the Summer Tag League.
CHAD GOMEZ
Look, the Enclave is used to being far more chaotic than the Laurentide Commission allows here in Lion's Road. I saw them digging under the ring at every turn, trying to find a weapon of some sort but believe me guys, they don't keep anything under there. I'm pretty sure Corey Cruelty slept under there a few times.
SAM HEWITT
They did find a light tube under there, but Xavier Price made sure it wasn't used.
CHAD GOMEZ
The cheapskate probably smuggled it home.
SAM HEWITT
Nevertheless fans, I understand Becky Chande is standing by backstage.
Indeed, we switch views to the locker room area where Becky Chande stands. Matt Pulver is sitting on a bench lacing up his boots, AJ Knight is giving her bunny ears while she's unaware, waiting for the cue from the camera crew.
BECKY CHANDE
I am here with AJ Knight and Matt Pulver who are preparing for their first match in the Summer Tag League. You two are coming off big career moments on opposite ends of the spectrum. Matt, you had a rough couple of weeks having recently lost to Julian Cutlass in a spirited effort - one of the best King of the Lions bouts we've seen. Now my question is... where's your head at after coming so close yet again?
Pulver finishes lacing his boots and stands up.
MATT PULVER
I'm focused - more than ever. My first match with Cutlass was a time limit draw and that messed me up a bit. The uncertainty, it threw me off the track but this time... even though I lost, there was a decisive finish. No what ifs - I wasn't good enough to topple the King of the Lions so all I need now is to become good enough. I will only keep evolving and with all that I took away from that last bout... it's only a matter of time.
She turns to AJ, noticing his hand while he swiftly and awkwardly retracts it.
BECKY CHANDE
AJ... you've been marred in controversy for the majority of your stay in Lion's Road. Once again you find yourself in the eye of the storm due to the situation with Hammerstein, who last week had some more heated words in regard to your opinions of Eli Buchanan and his situation. Do you have any response at this time?
AJ KNIGHT
I meant everything I said last week. I'm being one hundred percent honest when I say that I hope Eli and Charlotte work everything out so that Eli can be father that Haruto and his twins deserve to have in their life and like I said, Jacob... I don't want this fight and trust me... you don't either. WALK AWAY.
Chande turns back to Pulver.
BECKY CHANDE
Matt, this is your third tag team partner after Kenshin Takamura and La Cucaracha. When the Summer Tag League was announced, there was a bit of surprise to see your two names pop up alongside one another so... why AJ?
MATT PULVER
I always look for the same thing when it comes to tag team partners; passion. That same sort of relentless burning passion that I have. Kenshin had it, Racha had it, and AJ has it. If you have it, it doesn’t matter how different we are or if we even get along. But if you have that heart, never-say-die-attitude, warrior’s spirit, or whatever you want to call it – but if you have that, we’re on the same page.
AJ pulls the microphone toward him.
AJ KNIGHT
If I may add something... I'm a bit nervous being Matt's tag team partner! He might be cursed!
Matt has a chuckle at that one, Becky even smirks a bit at it.
BECKY CHANDE
Your opponents tonight... Alan Envy and... Justin Seville, a man that you both have some history and issues with.
AJ KNIGHT
Nah, no issues here - he has issues with me. See, he's just pissed off that in a TRIANGLE SURVIVAL that I didn't help him eliminate Julian Cutlass. It's every man for himself in those bouts and... believe me, I want the glory of beating Cutlass myself. I wasn't about to let you have it. However, I do owe him a couple of good shots for being an asshole and cheap shotting me the moment I got into the War Games but the man who really owes him one... is this gentleman.
AJ slaps Pulver on the chest.
MATT PULVER
That’s right - Justin thought he could do whatever he wants without any consequences. He thought I was a pushover but I’m used to that quite frankly because I’m the smallest guy on this roster and I don’t really look like much. However, Justin Seville is about to find out, just like Alexander Irvine did, that if you wrong me I’m the most dangerous man you will ever step in the ring with.
BECKY CHANDE
AJ won a shot at the King of the Lions title due to his controversial win over Cutlass in the Iron Rules bout but formally issued a challenge, which was accepted by the champion at the most recent Shining Road event. Matt, you are considered to be the champion's best rival during this historic reign - how good a chance do you believe AJ has at dethroning Cutlass?
MATT PULVER
It’s tough to say because Cutlass is one hell of an opponent. You can prepare as much as you want, but once in that ring with him, it’s like fighting a tsunami. AJ fought Cutlass and didn't look out of place - to go fifteen minutes with him is quite the accomplishment. AJ's passion is not to be underestimated and while it's going to be tough, AJ has a good chance and a good partner to talk some strategy with.
Pulver turns around and grabs a towel.
BECKY CHANDE
AJ, any words for Cutlass?
AJ KNIGHT
Julian, I don't need technicalities to save me. If you were careful with your kicks, there wouldn't be any excuses to make for the fact that I beat you. I'm glad you finally see me as a contender though - it's about damn time... you're only four months late to the dance but at least you showed up. You're "ICHIBAN" as King of the Lions? That all ends when I get my shot because I'm not even close to being the same fighter or man I was in April. I'm the Knight, who's going to slay the King!
Knight storms out, Becky seems surprised. Pulver slowly smirks.
MATT PULVER
There's that passion.
Pulver pats Becky on the shoulder and leaves.
BECKY CHANDE

Brian Crucifix throws Moss into the ropes and catches him on the rebound with a superkick! He taunts a moment before spinning around, looking for the discus lariat but Moss ducks him! C4! The moonsault side slam hits and Moss immediately heads to the corner and props himself up on the second rope, Crucifix groggily gets up to a knee... looking around for Moss... but he won't get a chance to see him coming as he falls victim to the Flash Fall - the reverse somersault neckbreaker!
