Once again we find ourselves in the Review studio with clips of the evenings matches highlighted on a monitor behind Solomon Bentley.
SOLOMON BENTLEY:
Hello fans and welcome to the Shining Road Review! I’m your host Solomon Bentley along with the perpetually debonair Kai Harrison.
Harrison in the light grey suit nods.
SOLOMON BENTLEY:
Tonight we had all kinds of action. A showdown between BLACK Lion’s Road and A.R.M.B.A.R. occurred that saw Jimmy Winner use the Battlin’ Cry on “Inferno Rooster” Kazuo Inoue early in the evening to show that anything can happen! Zen Hayashi would fight Big Cage Mike in a street fight rules match and pull out a stunning upset! Kai, what did you think?
KAI HARRISON:
Watching those two brawl on the outside was a great example of toughness, but there were some sick moments. Watching Hayashi hit the Crystal Field Splitter onto a chair to end the match and put down Big Cage Mike? I had to close my eyes watching it!
SOLOMON BENTLEY:
In the penultimate match of the evening, Buck U Production’s Krak-n-Mack team would successfully make their V2 defense of the GPWS Tag Team titles after Kraken powerbombed Katsuhiko Himura. After the match, Buck U streamers would pour from the ceiling in an awesome sight as the two giants celebrated.
KAI HARRISON:
KOSUKE and Himura fought hard, but ultimately didn’t have enough in the tanks to move those behemoth-like men.
SOLOMON BENTLEY:
In the final match of the evening we got an instant-classic, didn’t we Kai?
KAI HARRISON:
Absolutely, Solomon. Makoto Ueno making his 1st defense against Hidehiko Nagata had everything we’d expect. Ueno controlled the match early with his takedowns, but Nagata would hit the Crimson Killer and it seemed like it was over but it just kept going with the two men trading blow after blow!
SOLOMON BENTLEY:
This match would make it past the 40 minute mark before we ultimately would find ourselves with a winner. Let’s take you to the epic conclusion…
SOLOMON BENTLEY:
An epic, indeed. After the match, Hidehiko Nagata would congratulate Ueno in the ring and in the post-match press conference announce that this match would be his last, as he was retiring from the squared circle!
KAI HARRISON:
The Crimson Killer went out with pride tonight. Throughout his long and storied career, he made this sport, this art, this way of life better off with his fighting spirit. That’s why tonight he receives the Fighting Spirit Award.
SOLOMON BENTLEY:
Nagata-san, we’re gonna miss you but we wish you the best of luck in retirement.
Bentley shuffles a few papers on the desk.
SOLOMON BENTLEY:
Next week, folks we’ll hope you join us two weeks from today on 9/23 as we kick off the SPACE STATION BEOWULF tour where we’ll see Thunder Mask defend the GPWS Jr. Heavyweight title against Sheik Spectre and we’ll have some very interesting shootfighting matches. King of Lions Champion Julian Cutlass has agreed to a match against KOSUKE who just a couple of months ago bested Hiroyuki Fukudome at the FUSION show in MMA. The two men will fight under kickboxing rules. Zen Hayashi will face a mystery opponent under the catch/submission wrestling format! Who will his opponent be?? It’s sure to be an exciting show! See you in two weeks!
