Star Zone opens with Mandeville Nelson seated between AJ Knight and Julian Cutlass, who sits with the second generation version of the King of Lions title draped over his shoulder. In his hand... of course, is a shaker bottle with a protein drink inside.

MANDEVILLE NELSON
Good evening, ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to Star Zone! I've been informed that this pretaped interview will open up the show and immediately lead into a tag team match between the pair.

Nelson adjusts his papers.

MANDEVILLE NELSON
On September 28th - a couple weeks from now - one of the most highly anticipated bouts in all of Lion's Road history... the King of Lions Championship match between the most dominant champion in the history of the promotion and territory will defend the title against the only person to defeat him in singles competition ALL YEAR! Julian, AJ... welcome. I'd like to begin my ask--

AJ KNIGHT
Can I ask one first? Jules... when you wash your face where do you stop?

Cutlass yawns and uncorks the top of the shaker bottle filled with protein shake and begins to gulp down the contents as Nelson shakes his head before continuing on

MANDEVILLE NELSON
This past year has been a truly eventful one for the both of you. Many say that the two biggest stories of 2017 have been your (gesturing towards Cutlass) championship dominance and your coming of age. (gesturing towards AJ) There's been a lot of interest in a title rematch between the two of you since the Laurentide Cup finals and now it's finally coming to fruition in two weeks time, I have to ask you both how confident do you feel going into this match?

AJ KNIGHT
I mean I've beaten him before haven't I? That's a mental edge that most guys who have fought him don't have the luxury of. I mean I have respect for the vast majority of Cutlass' other challengers, but unlike them I know how to actually beat him, I know what works and what doesn't against him. Call it a fluke, call it a technicality call it whatever you like but I won. I may not have been able to put him away, but don't forget he couldn't put me away either.

Nelson glances over to Cutlass.

MANDEVILLE NELSON
And what about yourself?

Cutlass chugs down more protein shake before answering.

JULIAN CUTLASS
Ask me a more interesting question.

Nelson wears a quizzical expression. Cutlass continues to drink.

MANDEVILLE NELSON
Okay… Julian, your King of Lions Championship reign has lasted nearly a year. How much longer do you think you can keep going?

Cutlass pauses and sets the shaker bottle on his knee.

JULIAN CUTLASS:
As long as I f***ing want it to last, my friend.

MANDEVILLE NELSON
And how long as that?

JULIAN CUTLASS
Until I get bored.

MANDEVILLE NELSON
Does this match bore you?

JULIAN CUTLASS [shaking his head]
No. Before the Iron rules match, maybe. A.J. conveniently omits that I pinned his shoulders to the mat in my fifth defense of the title, and I did it with both Seville and him gunning after me the entire match. But I’m glad the Iron rules match happened. I’m glad that A.J. picked up the points decision.

MANDEVILLE NELSON
Why?

Cutlass grins.

JULIAN CUTLASS
Because now he believes he has a chance. And it’ll make it that much sweeter when he’s lying there in the ring a confused, bloody mess and wondering “what the f*** went so wrong?” just like everyone else that’s tried to claim this title from me.

At that the usual cocky grin of AJ Knight spreads across his face as he chuckles derisively.

AJ KNIGHT
You know something Jules? You really are something else. You are absolutely one of the very best wrestlers of this generation, some would argue THE best wrestler of this generation. You have talent on a level most men could only dream of having...

AJ shakes his head chuckling again

AJ KNIGHT
But somehow amazingly, for all your talent you actually believe yourself to be even better than you really are. "Kiddo doesn't realize he's 20,000 leagues under my level". Sound familiar Cutlass? Those are the exact words you spoke about me two months ago before I beat you. Did I not have a chance then too? You can say anything you want but let's call a spade a spade here. That night I out-wrestled you for 15 minutes and I looked damn good doing it!

AJ leans back in his seat

AJ KNIGHT
But I still don't have a chance? I guess you don't want to think about that though right? So let's talk about the match you want to talk about. April 20th: The Laurentide Cup finals. I admit it, I lost that night, you got the better of me on that night. But remember something else.

AJ gets a more sinister grin across his face

AJ KNIGHT
The only reason you still have that beautiful title over your shoulder is because of me. Whether you admit it or not, Seville had you dead to rights. The only reason you're still the champion is because I wanted to be the one to kill the king. If anyone was going to be the one to put my former hero to rest I wanted to be me, not that bald headed cheat! I thought I'd never get another shot at being the one to do it. But now I do and I'm not going to miss this time "hero".

AJ does a finger gun gesture pointing right at Cutlass' head Mandeville Nelson turns to Cutlass. The King of Lions Champion sighs and glances down at the golden championship belt over his shoulder.

JULIAN CUTLASS
God… when did you become such a f***ing clown show?

He looks back up and stares down A.J. like a sniper.

JULIAN CUTLASS
You cheated your way through the Laurentide Cup just like Justin Seville, using Eli Buchanan’s assistance to get through the losers’ block. You spent months with the Red Army bilking the good fighters of this company at every f***ing turn. Don’t you dare f*** with the historical record with your recently acquired nobility.

His eyes narrow.

JULIAN CUTLASS
I will not allow you to besmirch my name. Look, I’m sorry it hurt your feelings when I called you a “dumpster-fire” but when you joined the Red Army you didn’t deserve my respect. I won’t allow you any pity. You know why my words hurt? Because you failed yourself. You failed me. You failed the honor that I gave this company starting over a decade ago. You failed to live up to the expectations that I set for all pro-wrestlers. I won’t take the blame for your self-loathing. You became a cheat and f***ed up your own trajectory. Stop acting like a child and own your mistakes.

He allows himself a deflating exhale.

JULIAN CUTLASS
But at least you’ve gotten on a better path since then. I’m glad for you. And I’m happier than anyone that you won our last match. In fact, I want to thank you. Losing that match, even by points decision, was a liberating experience. It helped me evolve and get stronger. Forget the Laurentide Cup finals, I was always in control. Yes, you have helped me quite a bit…

He smirks.

JULIAN CUTLASS
… to bash in the brains of your pal Matt Pulver.

The smirk evaporates.

JULIAN CUTLASS
I like Matt. He owns up. Did you read his interview in the newsletter? The poor guy’s still recovering. And you had a hand in that. You prepared me. You helped me put a crater in his f***ing skull. And that match was just a warmup for what comes next. I mean, I actually have something to fight for now! Honestly, I can’t wait to exorcise the fucking demons. Whether you have a chance or not, whether you’re a blowhard or just a savagely ignorant moron… I’ll enjoy defending the title against you. And, somehow, I think you’ll profit from me liquidating your brain with repeated knees to the cranium.

AJ for the first time seems to be a bit agitated, but still maintains some type of a grin.

AJ KNIGHT
You don't think I regret what I did in the Red Army? You don't think that I look back on those 4 months and wish I could take back the things I did? There hasn't been a day that's gone by that I don't want to turn back the clock and nip the Red Army in the bud before it became what it did! The difference between me and Seville though? I didn't want the assistance! I didn't ask for it! I did everything I could to keep it from happening!

The grin is now completely gone from AJ's face as he stands up from his seat.

AJ KNIGHT
And don't you even THINK of pretending that I haven't owned up to my actions! From May to July almost EVERYTHING I did has been trying to make things right! And I'm not about to let you sit here and lie to everybody saying that in my situation you wouldn't have done the same thing!

Cutlass rubs the bridge of his nose between his thumb and forefinger. He closes his eyes as A.J. continues.

AJ KNIGHT
If in one moment, your livelihood in the blink of an eye had been ripped out of your hands for something you KNOW you didn't do, don't pretend you wouldn't have done anything it takes to get back into the ring. Even if it meant making a deal with the Devil himself. Don't even try to tell me you wouldn't, because this? This is all you've got! The only reason ANYBODY would put up with you Cutlass is because you're a great fighter! The fact is if it doesn't involve hitting things you're pretty much useless! It's all you're good for!

The grin returns to AJ's face as he chuckles bitterly.

AJ KNIGHT
I'm honestly embarrassed to admit that I ever looked up to you now that I've actually met you. Because I see what my hero is now: A barely functional man child who needs The Tranklin company to babysit him so he doesn't spend all of his money on Korean Barbecue or some shit! I have no idea how they manage to put up with you, you have got to be the most infuriating person I've ever met! The fact that you talk down to me about maturity is laughable! When Wes Chubbman is the more sensible person you know there's a problem!

Cutlass glances over to Mandeville Nelson who has sat patiently as the two men commandeered his interview.

JULIAN CUTLASS
Anything else, Mandy?

Nelson shakes his head. Cutlass nods and the drinks the remainder of protein shake from the bottle until all that remains is the stainless steel blenderball surrounded by pink foam. He remains seated.

JULIAN CUTLASS
So you spent May to July making your big comeback, huh? I spent nine f***ing years training for the day that Lion’s Road would return to this earth. The months I spent sleeping in hyperbaric chambers and praying with the Mahayana Buddhists in the slums of Bangladesh, the years I spent in Izawa’s dojo sparring and grappling with any Tom, Dick and Suzuki who would get on the mat with me. I took the long f***ing road. The one where the world forgets your name, the one without fame and sycophants, the one where you either reemerge stronger or don’t reemerge at all.

He pauses.

JULIAN CUTLASS
And now you wanna tease me for lacking all the required social skills? You wanna poke fun at me for my absent-mindedness, my insomnia, my propensity for obsession? Fine. I’ll take it. Because I do need people like Alex, Stacy, Francine, even Wes… everyone in the Tranklin Group who has looked after me. They help me make it in a world that confuses me beyond all f***ing belief, a world in which guys like me just don't make sense.

He stands. The King of Lions title glitters on his shoulder.

JULIAN CUTLASS
Sometimes I’m jealous of you guys who can fit in. It’s a skill I just don’t have, A.J., and I’m sorry it embarrasses you. Maybe you shouldn’t get to know your heroes. You might find out they’re real people.

He points off in the distance.

JULIAN CUTLASS
But out there in that ring, I’m perfect. I’m at total peace amongst the chaos of competition. Out there under the lights, I f***ing thrive. And in two weeks’ time, you and I will meet once again, one-on-one. No Justin Seville, no Red Army, no Iron rules… just you and me. And I really hope you’re the man you think you are, the man who you hope you can become. Because all I want is a good fight to push my limits. And I’m praying you’re the one who can bring it to me.

The two men stand up, nose to nose with one another as the show fades to commercial.

Star Zone returns with "Columbia" by Oasis blaring, Jimmy Winner leads the charge to the ring with King of Lions Champion Julian Cutlass in tow. The champion is sporting a new t-shirt, "INFINITE VICTORY" scrawled across the front and "FIGHT THEM ALL" on the back. The fans roar as AJ Knight jumps out of the ring, Matt Pulver and Jimmy Winner each stand between their respective partners as the two come within feet of each other at ringside. Referee Cordell Garner calls several stage hands in to keep things calm as Jake Aarons making the introductions.

JAKE AARONS
Ladies and gentlemen, this opening bout on Star Zone is to be fought over a ten minute time limit with one fall, one submission or a knockout to decide the winner! Introducing first at a combined weight of three hundred and ninety five pounds! They are collectively known as the Mat Crusaders... MATT PULVER and his teammate AJ KNIGHT!

Knight stays fixated on Cutlass while Pulver raises an arm but goes back to keeping AJ restrained.

JAKE AARONS
Introducing their opponents at a combined weight of four hundred and forty eight! They are collectively known as Black Lion's Road! JIMMY WINNER and his teammate JULIAN CUTLASS!

It's quickly determined that Jimmy Winner will start things off with Matt Pulver, but the fans begin chanting for AJ and Cutlass to enter the fray.

JAKE AARONS
Your referee for this bout is Cordell Garner!

Winner turns and extends his hand to Cutlass, who happily slaps it and climbs inside. Pulver asks AJ and there's not even a tag to speak of, Knight hops in and the fans explode! Lots of trash talk as the champion and his next challenger circle around the ring and engage in a lock-up, AJ Knight backs Julian Cutlass into the ropes and Garner's request to break it up is obliged. Knight shoves Cutlass as he backs up and Cutlass returns the favour! Garner gets between them to settle things down a bit, Cutlass and AJ circle around again and engage in their second lock-up of the bout. Cutlass begins backing AJ up into the ropes, but Knight turns things around and puts Cutlass on the ropes... then slaps him! The crowd gasps as Cutlass looks on unimpressed, Knight backs up with a smirk on his face. They lock-up again and Knight once again backs Cutlass into the ropes and winds up for a slap, but stops short of doing so... he smirks, but Cutlass pops him with a forearm! AJ stumbles away but turns back into a knife edge chop! Cutlass blisters the youngster's chest with chop after chop after chop! He grabs AJ and chucks him out to the floor! Garner admonishes Cutlass for it, pulling out a yellow card! Pulver jumps into the ring on the automatic tag, Winner hops in to greet him and Garner pushes Cutlass back into the corner and orders him to the apron. Knight gets up and collects himself, climbing up to his corner.

JAKE AARONS
Referee Cordell Garner has issued a yellow card to Julian Cutlass for throwing AJ Knight out of the ring! His first public warning!

SAM HEWITT
During our summer meetings, the Laurentide Athletic Commission expressed concern over just how many bouts were going to the floor so in an effort to fix that, they opted to make throwing an opponent out of the ring a yellow card foul. Of course, throwing an opponent over the top rope remains a red card foul.

Winner roars past Pulver and school boys him!

2-KICK OUT!

Despite the kick out, Winner grabs a rear waist hold and pulls Pulver to his feet but Matt Wrestling pushes Winner back into the corner and turns around... EUROPEAN UPPERCUT by an actual European! He fires a second... then Winner cracks him right back with a forearm! Pulver stumbles, Winner kicks him in the abdomen to double him over and bounces off the ropes... SUNSET FLIP!

KICK OUT!

Pulver rolls back and shows why despite being one of the smallest fighters on the roster, he's one of the best as he gets up and grabs Winner in a double underhook and attempts to suplex him. Winner fights it, but Pulver readjusts and hoists the Scramble Champion up and over... and down to the mat! He floats over!

2-KICK OUT!

Pulver pulls Winner up off the mat and slaps AJ's hand, bringing him back into the bout. Pulver and Knight each grab a wrist and shoot Winner off into the ropes, he rebounds right into a double dropkick! Winner goes down and rolls out of the ring, bringing the King of Lions back in to an enormous pop. Cutlass and AJ lock-up, Cutlass hurls a European uppercut into AJ that staggers him back into the corner. Cutlass hits a knife edge chop that seems to ignite Knight, who lunges forth with a forearm in mind. Cutlass ducks, grabs AJ and chucks him back in the corner and begins kicking away at his chest! AJ crumples into the corner and Cutlass storms away as Garner's count reaches four, AJ props himself back up and Cutlass grabs him - sending him into the opposing corner. He charges forth, but AJ rushes out and catches Cutlass coming in with a flying forearm! Knight goes down and rolls out to the floor, auto tagging Pulver into the bout. Pulver comes in and grabs Cutlass, clamping on an abdominal stretch. Winner jumps into the ring and double axe handle smashes Pulver in the back to free his mentor, Cutlass crawls to his feet and kicks Pulver in the gut. He clamps on a side headlock and tries to hip throw him over, but Pulver blocks it and hoists Cutlass into the air - dropping him with a backdrop suplex! Pulver leans back and covers!

2-KICK OUT!

Pulver sits up and tags in AJ, holding Cutlass in place as Knight jumps in the ring. He grabs him from behind and grabs a hold of the wrist... he spins the King of Lions around... SLAP!

CHAD GOMEZ
He didn't.

SAM HEWITT
He did! The Holy Ouch!

Cutlass drops to a knee and AJ mouths him off a bit before grabbing his wrist and shooting him into the ropes, Winner tags himself in and Knight beelines straight for him. Cutlass hits the ropes and stops, exiting as Knight pulls Winner into the centre of the ring. Winner eats a forearm, then gets clamped into a side headlock. Knight does a standing switch, transitioning from the side headlock into a hammerlock, from there he abandons that and grabs the leg... hoisting Winner up and slamming the shin down across his knee. Winner yelps in pain as AJ reaches up and tags in Pulver, then lays out on the mat with Winner's leg held down. Pulver climbs onto the top rope... DOUBLE STOMP TO THE LEG! Pulver rolls through and right back out of the ring as AJ grabs the leg and turns him over in the Wrinkle in Time! The single leg crab applied! Winner reaches out for the ropes, then grasps his head... Cutlass storms into the ring - unseen by AJ and bounces off the ropes... BLAZIN' KICK! AJ teeters over and collapses to the mat, Cutlass is grabbed by Garner who tells him to get back on the apron now that he's made his save. He doesn't need though as Winner drops to the floor, Cutlass pushes past Garner and covers AJ!

SAM HEWITT
A bit too much time between the kick and the pin, I think. We've seen plenty succumb to the Blazin' Kick, AJ being one of them.

CHAD GOMEZ
If one doesn't do the trick - another sure will.

Pulver is intercepted on the save by Winner, but shoves him aside and jumps Cutlass from behind to buy AJ some time to recover. Cutlass fights the choke sleeper that Pulver's clamped on, but it's cinched in good! Winner comes off the top rope with a double axe handle to the back of Pulver! Pulver releases Cutlass and falls to his knees, Winner bounces off the ropes and smashes Pulver with an elbow as he stands up and follows him to the mat with an elbow drop to complete the Battlin' Cry! Winner hurriedly rolls Pulver out to the apron and exits himself, beating the ten count to get out of the ring. Cutlass gets up and AJ grabs his foot out from underneath him and turns him over! Wrinkle in Time! Garner slides into position to ask Cutlass if he wants to give it up!

SAM HEWITT
The single leg crab! It's the very move that Ben Chrenshaw used to tap Cutlass out just over a year ago! AJ Knight is hoping it'll bring him similar results!

Cutlass shakes his head no and tries to force his way to the ropes, Knight attempts to maintain the pressure but certainly isn't as good at the hold as Ben Chrenshaw is. Suddenly, there's a commotion on the outside as Hammerstein blasts Winner from behind! Justin Seville yanks Matt Pulver to his feet and sets him up, then delays as Hammerstein gets up on the apron and together the two spike piledrive Pulver on the floor and immediately high tail it! Cutlass breaks free, sending AJ into the turnbuckle where he sees Pulver laid out on the floor! He's about to exit when Cutlass spins him around... KICK! KICK! KICK! He grabs AJ and chucks him into the ropes, looking for the running palm strike... AJ ducks it... LEAPING ENZUIGIRI ON THE TURN AROUND! Cutlass stumbles and falls into the ropes, rebounds back... AJ kicks him in the gut... hammerlocks the arm... Cutlass struggles, Knight knees him to stop the squirming... KNIGHT FALL DDT!

SAM HEWITT
He hit it!

Cutlass lays motionless on his stomach, Knight on his back. Knight clicks in to what's going on and rolls over, pushing Cutlass over onto his back.

He covers!

Winner pops up on the outside and grabs Cutlass' foot, placing it on the bottom rope!

3!

AJ Knight rolls off, raising his arms in victory - Garner sees the foot on the rope and waves it off. Knight questions it, then sees and quickly dives down on top and makes a second cover after pulling the foot off!

2-THE BELL SOUNDS!

AJ lets out a expletive as Jake Aarons announces the time has expired. Knight gets up and starts talking to Garner when he sees Pulver laid out on the floor, instead opting to rush out and attend to his friend. Winner climbs inside and checks on Cutlass, who sits up shaking his head.

SAM HEWITT
I don't know if you caught that, fans, but Julian Cutlass may owe Jimmy Winner big time because despite having used his save up earlier in the bout, he sneakily reached in and put the King of Lions' foot on the bottom rope. Garner counted the three, but realized his mistake - seeing the foot immediately thereafter. I don't even think AJ saw Winner do it.

CHAD GOMEZ
If he had, he'd have pulled the foot right back off. Serves him right for not hooking the leg.

SAM HEWITT
Well, yeah... AJ is a young kid and clearly got excited in the heat of the moment. He hit his DDT and went for the cover, neglecting to hook the leg - because if he had, there's no way that Winner would have been able to put it on the ropes without him knowing.

CHAD GOMEZ
Don't forget what's outside here. While AJ was busy trying to steal Ben Chrenshaw's finishing hold, the Horsemen came out here and gave a hellacious spike piledriver to Matt Pulver on the cement floor. I don't think he's moved since.

SAM HEWITT
Luckily we've got medical staff here to check that situation out, AJ Knight out there to assist as they load him on the stretcher - hopefully he's OK. We'll give you an update if we get one later on in the program. In the meantime, we've got to take a break.

JAKE AARONS
This bout is to be fought over a ten minute time limit with one fall, one submission or a knockout to decide the winner! Introducing first from the Hall of Justice! He weighs in at two hundred and three pounds! THE AVENGER!

The Avenger strikes a heroic pose.

JAKE AARONS
Introducing his opponent! Fighting out of Boston, Massachusetts! He weighs in at two hundred and fifty four pounds... GRAHAM GOSCH!

Gosch slaps the turnbuckle and lets Shelzi know he's ready.

JAKE AARONS
Your referee for this bout is Brian Shelzi!

SAM HEWITT
This should be a good one! A fifty pound weight advantage for Gosch, two inch height advantage... but the Avenger has good quickness and agility to avoid Gosch's submissions and grappling. Of course, the winner of this bout will meet the winner of tonight's main event on 9/28 in Duluth to battle for the Heritage Heavyweight Championship.

Our bout begins with a traditional collar and elbow tie-up, Graham Gosch gains the upper hand but is maybe a wee bit too cocky as the Avenger pulls out easily and slaps on one of his own! Gosch sends him into the ropes and ducks down, the Avenger stops short of the world class grappler and kicks him in the side! Gosch rolls onto his back and the Avenger leaps into a one knee mount! Punches!

Gosch turns over and quickly gets out of that situation. Or so he thinks, the Avenger turns around and feeds him the three he was unable to on the mat. Gosch goes down and rolls out of the ring, taking a walk. Shelzi tells him to get back in and begins the ten count when he doesn't fulfill that request, the Avenger plays to the fans as Gosch paces back and forth outside the ring. He slides back in and the Avenger backs up, allowing Gosch room to get to his feet. The two men lock-up, Gosch drops to his knees and takes the Avenger to the mat with a fireman's carry then tries to grab the arm, but headscissors are applied by the Avenger! Gosch turns his body, gets to his knees and headstands up and out of the hold - he lands on his ass, the Avenger quickly clamps on a sleeper! Gosch manages to get to his feet, but the Avenger maintains control with the hold! Gosch backs he and the superhero back toward the corner which makes the Avenger extra mindful of his surroundings - but Gosch ducks behind and pushes the Avenger into the ropes.

SAM HEWITT
As beautiful a counter as you will see, Graham Gosch started backing the Avenger into the corner making him take his mind off the effectiveness of the sleeper hold and allowed Gosch to duck in behind ever so slightly and push the Avenger off into the ropes... into a sleeper of his own!

Indeed, Gosch has the sleeper in nicely. The Avenger goes down to a knee but pops back up, hoping to maintain his composure for as long as he can - he too begins to back Gosch up but then instead runs forward and drops to his knees - Gosch collides head first with the top turnbuckle and slumps. The Avenger recuperates and waits as Gosch pulls himself off the ropes, then turns around... SUPERKI-NO! Gosch ducks it and grabs the Avenger in a front waist hold and backs up... he makes as though he's going to belly to belly suplex him but instead lifts him up, readjusting his position and squeezes! BEARHUG! The Avenger cries out and reaches for the ropes, but Gosch tightens his grip... then suddenly drops him into a reverse atomic drop! The Avenger barely has a moment to register that before Gosch grabs him in a front waist hold again... and belly to belly suplexes him over his head and to the mat!

CHAD GOMEZ
Carly Simon said it best, "nobody does it better". That was beautiful, like a symphony of grappling.

Gosch floats over and covers.

The Avenger gets his foot on the ropes, Gosch grabs the foot and yanks it down before rolling the masked man onto his stomach. He grabs the arm and steps over, locking it in place. He cranks on the hold after dropping to a knee, increasing the pressure. Gosch transitions into a hammerlock, grounded and raises his legs up... then brings the knee down! The Avenger rolls away in pain and Gosch gets up to his feet. He grabs the Avenger who fires a shot into his abdomen, Gosch doubles over... LEAPING LARIAT! The Avenger takes Gosch down to the mat with that one! The Avenger scrambles to his feet and looks to unleash the standing moonsault...

NO ONE HOME!

Gosch rolls out of the way and Avenger lands hard on the mat. Gosch grabs him in a front chancery and yanks him to his feet, looking to execute a suplex... the Avenger is lifted up off his feet but slips out the back door! He grabs a rear waist hold, but Gosch blocks the lift attempt and goes for a back elbow - it's ducked! A kick to the gut from the man from the Hall of Justice! HURACANRANA! Gosch goes down, the Avenger pops up to the fans approval and stalks his prey... Gosch slowly gets up... SUPERHERO KI-NO! Gosch ducks and takes out the support leg!

SAM HEWITT
A single leg takedown while the Avenger was attempting the Superhero kick!

Gosch leaps into side control from the half guard he lands in, then presses his forearm against the Avenger's face and grinds it back and forth as he grabs the right arm of the masked man and pins the wrist under his left knee. Gosch palms his face and leaps up... driving a knee down across the arm! Gosch gets up, allowing the Avenger to roll away in pain and then hunts him down, grabbing him up and applying a plume clinch. He starts trying to feed him enough knees to be a healthy part of your complete breakfast, but the Avenger catches one and backs up - forcing Gosch to hop on one leg. He throws the leg aside, forcibly spinning Gosch around and smashes a forearm into his skull! Gosch goes down on all fours and the Avenger waits as he gets back to a knee, he lunges into the ropes... FLYING FOREARM! Gosch goes down, but gets back up... SLING BLADE! The Avenger points to the top rope and the crowd roars it's approval, he exits to the apron and fastens his cape around him as he walks to the corner. Gosch is slowly getting up as the Avenger steadies himself up top.

SAM HEWITT
He's got the cape! Here's the Crusade!

The Avenger leaps off for his flying body press, but Gosch ducks it and the hero hits nothing but mat. The world class grappler turns and grabs him in a rear waist hold, the Avenger has some fight left him and tries to back Gosch up into the corner but the Iowa uses his own momentum to swing him around and put him facing against the corner. Gosch feeds several forearms into the back of his head, then reapplies the rear waist hold and falls backwards. GERMAN SUPLEX! He rolls it through... and hangs on... HE DEADLIFTS THE AVENGER! A SECOND GERMAN SUPLEX! HE BRIDGES!

Gosch lets go of the bridge and rises to his feet to get his arm raised by Brian Shelzi, who leaves the ring as Gosch jumps on the ropes and shouts to the fans about this ring being no place for superheroes.

CHAD GOMEZ
That sequence of suplexes is called OH MY GOSCH according to my notes and yeah, that's a pretty accurate verbalization of what I was thinking. And I guess I'll give this superhero dork some credit, I liked his fire.

SAM HEWITT
The Avenger showed he belongs in Lion's Road ring. He may be a little off-kilter with the whole superhero getup but like you said, he's got great fire and the fans certainly appreciate his performance. Graham Gosch though, he continues to impress and with tonight's victory - he's got himself a shot at the Heritage title!

Gosch is long gone, but the Avenger remains in the ring and rises to his feet - receiving a appreciative reaction from the Michigan crowd.

Matt Pulver is walking out of the doctor's office backstage, holding his neck as Becky Chande approaches. Before she can even begin to ask about his condiition, AJ Knight bursts into the frame.

AJ KNIGHT
Good news? Bad news?

MATT PULVER
In between?

AJ KNIGHT
What's that supposed to mean?

MATT PULVER
Nothing major, I'm OK... he just told me to take it easy for a week or two.

AJ KNIGHT
...man, we got a big eight man tag match next w--

MATT PULVER
Look, AJ. You know that I'm the last guy who wants to sit on the sidelines but you... you've got the biggest match of your life in two weeks.

AJ KNIGHT
I-

MATT PULVER
Just listen to me.

AJ begrudgingly goes silent.

MATT PULVER
If you spend the next couple of weeks worrying about my condition then you're going to lose to Cutlass... you need to be focused in a match with him. Anything less than that and you're not going to stand a chance. I can miss next week's tag bout, I don't want to but I'm thinking about the bigger picture... you should too.

AJ KNIGHT
It'll be 4 on 3.

Pulver laughs.

MATT PULVER
I think you know who to find.

Pulver pats AJ on the chest and exits, Chande looks at AJ quizzically.

BECKY CHANDE
Are we thinking the same person here?

AJ sighs and pulls out his phone, hits a few buttons and puts it to his ear. Chande listens intently as it rings and rings and rings... AJ hangs up, the cameraman gets a good shot of the phone's screen.

Knight shakes his head and walks off.

"Swear it to the Sun" by Voodoo Johnson begins playing as Alan Envy walks out onto the stage, Hammerstein accompanying him. He stands on the stage and stares out at the crowd before fist bumping Hammerstein and the two slowly make their way down the stairs to the ring. Envy hops onto the ring apron.

JAKE AARONS
Ladies and gentlemen, this main event bout is a Heritage Heavyweight title match to be fought over a fifteen minute time limit with one fall, one submission or a knockout to decide the winner! Introducing first the challenger! From Fort Worth, Texas! He weighs in at two hundred and thirty four pounds... ALAN ENVY!

Envy looks around then gets into the ring and throws his arms to the side walking around the squared circle as the crowd reacts to him.

IN THE YEAR OF THE WOLF~!

Motorhead begins playing and the stage erupts with fire and smoke, Jimmy Winner jogs out from the back and Alexander Irvine, the Heritage Heavyweight Champion comes out in tow with his head cast down.

JAKE AARONS
Introducing his opponent! From Keokuk, Iowa! He weighs in at two hundred and fifteen pounds! The current, reigning and defending Heritage Heavyweight Champion... ALEXANDER IRVINE!

He lifts his head, slowly releasing the smoke from his mouth. He begins his ascent to the ring, removing his BLR t-shirt and passing it to Winner who chucks it into the crowd after some playing to them. Irvine trots down the stairs, unfastening his belt as he climbs the stairs to the ring. He enters under the top rope and begins walking to his corner, throwing a few kick and punch combinations before bouncing back and forth on the balls of his feet shaking his arms out.

JAKE AARONS
Your referee for this bout is Xavier Price!

Xavier Price calls for the bell! Alan Envy wastes no time at all, rushing in and decking the Heritage Champion with a cheap shot! Irvine staggers and Envy keeps up the assault, putting the boots to him as he falls down in the corner. Price begins his five count and Envy stops at four and backs up, but goes right back in to pull Irvine up by his ears. The Wolf rises up and slaps Envy's face which elicits a gasp from the crowd as the challenger stumbles away in pain, Irvine grabs his opponent and attempts knees from the plume clinch but Envy blocks the third one and clamps on a front waist hold. Irvine bell claps his challenger and does a quick go behind in a rear waist lock, the Heritage Champion grabs an arm and twists it... but Envy grabs a hold of Irvine's arm and twists it around before pulling the champion into a side headlock. He quickly takes him down to the mat with a side headlock takeover but Irvine drills Envy with a 12-6 elbow that interrupts whatever he had in mind as he gets back to his feet and retreats to the corner.

SAM HEWITT
You'd find that most fighters would likely use the headscissors to break free of that predicament, but Alexander Irvine is not most fighters - he's a world class athlete with an equally terrific skill set and it was one simple 12-6 elbow that got him out of that situation.

CHAD GOMEZ
One simple elbow that can come down across the bridge of your nose and break it.

Irvine gets up and grabs Envy in the side headlock, taking him down to the mat. Irvine tries to climb into mount and unleash an elbow, but Envy throws him off balance and exits the ring. Hammerstein goes over to his Midnight Horsemen teammate and pats him on the back, telling him he's got this. Jimmy Winner on the opposite side of the ring tells Alexander Irvine that no, he's got this! Irvine shakes his head with a chuckle and tells Winner to shut up. Envy climbs back up onto the apron and gets back inside the ring. Champion and challenger meet in the centre of the ring with a lock-up, Irvine goes behind and Envy tries to create some separation from Irvine's grip... and manages to do a go behind, but just as quick as he does, Envy finds himself back at square one as Irvine does a go behind of his own and winds back up in control with the rear waist hold. Envy reaches back, three quarter facelock... Irvine reaches up to defend and Envy grabs an arm and moves - seizing the arm, Irvine quickly counters it and Envy levels him with a forearm to the face to get his arm free.

CHAD GOMEZ
Nothing quite counters a wrist lock like a good ol' forearm to the dome.

Envy tries to follow it up with a second, but Irvine blasts him with a leg kick. A second! A third! A fourth! Irvine stops and goes for the flying knee, Envy dodges it and falls down to one knee as he grabs Irvine's waist - rear waist hold. Irvine tries to back elbow smash him but being on one knee, he's too low to hit. Envy hangs on as Irvine attempts to grab the ropes to create a break, but the challenger stands up and German suplexes the champion before he's able to do so! He rolls over and makes the cover!

KICK OUT!

SAM HEWITT
A one count off that German suplex - I think that's a message.

CHAD GOMEZ
Seven letters, two words I can't say on air.

Envy stalks behind Irvine and attempts to clamp on the katahajime, but Irvine turns around... OVERHEAD BELLY TO BELLY TO ENVY! Irvine floats over and slowly rises back to his feet, still clutching Envy around the waist... a second overhead belly to belly! He pulls him up for a third, Envy headbutts him out of desperation... then backs into the ropes, he slingshots off and launches forth with the jawbreaker lariat... but Irvine ducks underneath, goes behind... MONSTER GERMAN SUPLEX! Irvine rolls to his knees, grabs the ropes and pulls himself up to allow Price to begin the knockout count.

Envy begins to stir.

5...

He rolls onto his stomach.

6...

Gets to his knees.

7...

Up to one knee... Envy backs up into the corner to halt the count.

CHAD GOMEZ
Incoming!

Irvine roars in with a flying knee to Envy in the corner! Nowhere for the veteran Midnight Horsemen to go! Envy doubles over in pain, Irvine clamps on a front chancery and hoists Envy up onto the top rope... then climbs up himself... Hammerstein leaps onto the apron, attempting to distract Price but Jimmy Winner races to the rescue, pulling the World Tag Team Champion back down! Irvine attempts to get a grip on Envy, but the veteran fighter from Texas gives him a shove and knocks him back down! Irvine jumps onto the second rope, front waist hold applied and... ENVY HEADBUTTS HIM! Irvine's grip loosens and Envy shoves him down to the mat! Envy considers climbing back down, but sees what position he wound up in and readjusts his footing...

HAIL TO THE KING ELBOW DROP!

Envy covers!

NO!

Security has separated Winner and Hammerstein, briefly at least. Hammer grabs Winner and throws him over the rail, then threatens a fan in a hoodie, but the fan doesn't flinch! Hammer shakes his head and gets up in his face... asking him if he knows who he is. The fan slowly reaches up and pulls back his hoodie...

JAMES EDWARDS

Hammerstein's eyes go wide and he tries to punch, but Edwards blocks it and hurls Hammerstein over the guardrail into the crowd! Security jumps the guardrail as the two men brawl through the crowd. The action in the ring has slowed, Irvine forearms Envy who returns the favour with a European uppercut! They go back and forth through several cycles until Irvine knees him in the gut, he applies a front chancery and rolls through with the Anaconda choke!

The hold isn't in long before they get tangled up in the ropes.

Price calls for the break, Irvine lets go and Envy rolls to the outside. The Wolf isn't about to wait and follows him out, Envy turns and tries for a punch but Irvine leg kicks him! Envy falls to a knee and Irvine grabs him, throwing him back inside the ring. Irvine climbs onto the apron, Envy creates some distance between he and Irvine as the Wolf climbs in. Envy crawls to his feet in the corner, Irvine sizes him up and lunges in... Envy turns and gets a knee up as Irvine attempts the flying knee! It catches him low! Irvine slumps against the ropes, Envy quickly grabs him and plants him with a DDT! He rolls him over!

The fans and Chad Gomez share the same sentiment. Envy rolls off of Irvine and smiles as Price hands him the Heritage title. Justin Seville comes out from the back and slides in, hugging his Horsemen stablemate as Irvine lays out on the mat.

SAM HEWITT
Cue up a replay!

The replay shows Irvine leaping in, Envy getting a knee up and nailing him square in the balls - an awkward angle for Xavier Price as Irvine was blocking his view. Irvine falls against the ropes, Envy quickly capitalizes and spikes him with the DDT! Jimmy Winner slides into the ring to check on Irvine, but Seville and Envy grab him and throw him over the top rope and to the floor! Envy motions to Seville and points to Irvine, Seville nods and they quickly pull him up. The roar of the crowd is deafening as AJ Knight hits the ring with a steel chair and starts swinging at the Horsemen, sending them packing. Julian Cutlass saunters out and checks on Winner before going around to Irvine, Knight and he make eye contact and stare each other down as the show closes.
