The camera zooms in on Solomon Bentley and Kai Harrison. They are having a conversation as the music plays them in. When the music ends, they both turn to the camera.
SOLOMON BENTLEY:
Hello everyone and welcome to the Shining Road Review! I’m Solomon Bentley with my partner-in-crime, Kai Harrison. A big night down at the Bushidokan, eh Kai?
KAI HARRISON:
That’s right, Solomon. Thunder Mask makes another successful defense by taking down Sheik Spectre with his MAX Thunder Driver. It was a tough fought match and Spectre several times tried to hit Thunder Mask with his new finisher, the Fertile Crescent, but the champ had it scouted.
SOLOMON BENTLEY:
And to think that would not even be the biggest finish. Just moments before the title match, the celebrated judoka Yoshihiro Sawamura pinned Makoto Ueno in tag team competition! The fans in the Bushidokan were on their feet and smacking the backs of the seats in disbelief. I think you know what his mean, Kai…
KAI HARRISON:
Yes, I do, Solomon. Takeo Yoshida announced after the show that on 10/7, we will see Ueno vs. Sawamura under mixed martial arts rules with the All-Japan Imperial Championship on the line!
SOLOMON BENTLEY:
Now we started off the night with two very interesting shootfighting matches. Zen Hayashi was scheduled for a catch wrestling match against a mystery opponent. Well, we had the big reveal tonight and who emerged from the back? Graham Gosch! Yes, the newly minted Lion’s Road superstar and #1 contender for the Heritage Heavyweight Championship stepped into the aisle and he never looked back.
KAI HARRISON:
Lion’s Road has a lot of great technical wrestlers. You’ve got Matt Pulver, Ben Chrenshaw… well, step aside, gentlemen. Graham Gosch has arrived and tonight he submitted Zen Hayashi in the third round with an armbar. Hayashi fought hard, especially in the second round when he almost slipped a rear naked choke on, but Gosch’s defenses were up. That third round the newcomer took down the Japanese native.
SOLOMON BENTLEY:
Now we also had a very interesting kickboxing match. The reigning King of Lions Champion, Julian Cutlass, days before his V8 defense accepted to fight KOSUKE, a noted kickboxer. This was a match of Cutlass’ high-powered offense versus KOSUKE’s toughness. Cutlass’ kicks were sharp, but KOSUKE has an unmatched toughness. The fight went to a decision won by Cutlass and afterwards the two men shook hands and hugged in the ring, both men exhausted.
KAI HARRISON:
Remember, KOSUKE defeated Hiroyuki Fukudome in MMA at the FUSION supershow. But tonight Cutlass had a dominating performance, winning each round by a healthy margin. But you must give KOSUKE a lot of credit. He can absorb more damage than anyone in the business, an impossible man to knockout. But congratulations, Julian, and good luck against A.J. Knight in a few days back in the States.
SOLOMON BENTLEY:
That’s right, Kai. Who do you take in that match?
KAI HARRISON:
It’s a tough one, Solomon. Everyone knows about Cutlass’ prowess in the ring. I mean, we’re talking about his V8 defense of the King of Lions Championship. But how high can A.J. Knight climb? That’s the real question on everyone’s lips. Have we seen his best or is the best yet to come? You know me, Solomon. I love a good upset.
SOLOMON BENTLEY:
Well, we saw an upset here on tonight’s show with Sawamura pinning Ueno. ‘Tis the season, perhaps! We’ll see you next week everyone where we have two big MMA matches plus a boxing match on the card! Don’t miss it!
