Our announce team, Greg Stradford and “Big Bad” Paul Carlyle welcome us to PWGP “CHARGE”, live from the Scotia Bank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta. Stradford puts over the big news coming out of last week’s “Battle Bowl”, Eli Buchanan is the first ever PWGP Global Champion, while Carlyle complains that Buchanan should never have been allowed to participate.
They send it to over to ring announcer, Nick Christoulos, who introduces the Buck U Athletic Commission’s spokesman, Robert Fredrick. Fredrick comes out with his assistant, Deedee. He welcomes everyone and then introduces the new PWGP Global Champion, “The Last Dragon” Eli Buchanan.
Eli Buchanan come out to a loud reaction from the Calgary crowd and shakes hands with Robert Fredrick. He thanks Fredrick for giving him one last opportunity to get into the Lethal Lottery last week, and promises to do his best not to let him down. He announces that he wants to be known as a fighting champion, so he plans to defend the championship anywhere he goes, whether it’s in Canada, the United States, Japan, Mexico, or anywhere else.
Robert Fredrick starts to say something when Saul Asper, flanked by all five members of his Army comes out and demands an end to all this nonsense. He states he has spent the last week petitioning the BUAC to have Eli Buchanan stripped of the PWGP Global Championship to no avail and demands that Buchanan put up the Global Championship here tonight against Kraken, who Asper tells Eli he was lucked out in eliminating last week at “Battle Bowl”.
Eli welcomes the challenge, stating they don’t have to wait; they can do it right now, much to the delight of the crowd. Robert Fredrick final gets in a word edgewise and states while he appreciates the new Global Champion’s fighting spirits, he cannot permit Eli from handing out title shots to whomever he pleases. He states that in Pro Wrestling Grand Prix nothing gets handed to anyone, you earn your title matches.
Robert Fredrick explains what the point system is all about that we’ve seen over the last few weeks. You earn points by winning matches and capturing falls in multiple person matches; a lose by pin fall or submission costs you one point, while a loss by disqualification or count out costs you two. To earn a Global Title match you need to accumulate a total of 10 points. Robert Fredrick takes his opportunity to inform all us, as per BUAC ruling, everyone who made it into the Battle Bowl last week earned one point and for every person an individual eliminated they earned another point. Since Kraken walked into “Battle Bowl” last week with 2 points, that meant with his advancement into the battle royal and elimination of Sweet Daddy D and The Technician, that meant he had a total of 5 point; a good start, but still a long way from earning a shot at Eli Buchanan’s Global Championship.
You know who has almost enough points to challenge for the Global Championship, Robert Fredrick asks. The Television Champion, Faititli because for every successful defense of his title, he has earned 2 points, which means with his four successful defenses all by pin fall, he has earned a total of 8 points. Robert Fredrick announces that if Faititili is successful in his title defense tonight, he will face Eli Buchanan for the Global Championship next week.
Saul Asper demands for Kraken to get that title shot but Robert Fredrick announces that since Asper has been so busy trying to get Kraken the Global Championship handed to him the BUAC is giving the Television Title match to the individual who made his in-ring debut at “Battle Bowl” and walked away from the event a total of five points because of his own, The Technician. This announcement angers Asper and his crew, but Fredrick lets them know not to worry because att the members of Asper’s Army will be busy tonight because in the main event they wil face Eli Buchanan and four partners of his choosing in a ten man tag match. Robert Fredrick wishes them all the best of luck and leaves the ring.
The announcers put over these announcement huge announcements. Stradford wonders who Eli Buchanan will pick as his partners, while Carlyle says anyone who teams up with him is a fool. They also put discuss Faititili’s sixth defence of the Television title, as expected they can’t agree on who will come out on top and walk out as champion. Could we see Faititli challenge Eli Buchanan for the Television Title next week or will The Technician take the title from him and stop him in his tracks? Guess what, it’s commercial time!
MATCH 1
Bryant Adam Thompson (0 points)
vs
James Daniels (0 points)
We return from break to find both competitors in the ring. We find out during the break Robert Fredrick happily granted Thompson this match after Daniels attacked his own father, “High Five” Jimmy Jive, last week, who was originally supposed to be Thompson’s partner in the Lethal Lottery last week. The announcers remind us that this lead to Goober the Gooker being the replacement and easily defeated by their opponents, The Agents of Pain.
Just as the bell sounds, James Daniels looks over and sees his father sitting in the crowd. He yells at Jive, telling him to watch what a real wrestler can do. His taunts however are cut short as Thompson charges across the ring and hits a drop kick that sends Daniels crashing into the corner and crumbling to the mat. The Notorious B.A.T. wastes not time hitting his signature “Bat Outta Hella” springboard phoenix splash and picks up the victory.
Winner: Bryant Adam Thompson (1 point)
Following the match, Thompson goes over to Jive and pats him on the shoulder, telling him that victory was for him. Jive shakes his head at his son, who is just getting up and walks away.
***
In the G3 locker room, we find the Guru preparing his men for their matches tonight. Asper’s Army barges in and Asper gets in the Guru’s face over what happened last week at “Battle Bowl”. The Technician gets in between his manager and Asper and states that by no means did he mean to have any part in eliminating “Iron” Mack Brody last week. His injured right foot was giving him some troubles. He grabbed the ropes to steady himself and Buchanan had taken advantage to that moment to knock Brody and Morimoto out of the ring. Tech apologises and says he needs to start wearing his orthopaedic boot again.
Asper and his men seem to accept this answer and Asper wishes him luck tonight against Faititili, because if he wins, they will be targeting him for the Television Title. Brody is the last to go and he stares at his former partner before taking his leave. The Guru tells The Technician not to let this rattle him and stick to the game plan they have put together. He then tells the Moondogs to come with him for their match.

James Daniels barges into Robert Fredrick while he’s talking to someone off camera. He asks Fredrick if he saw what just happened out there, stating he only lost because of his father’s distraction. Fredrick replies that he did in fact see it and finds it very fitting after everything Daniels has done to his father in recent weeks.
He says that Jimmy Jive has already come to him with a proposal. Next week it will be PWGP’s first ever “Father vs Son” Match between Daniels and Jive. If Daniels wins, Jimmy Jive is gone from PWGP, never to be heard from again, but if Jimmy Jive wins then Daniels must become his tag team partner and must listen to his whatever his father says. Daniels protests but Robert Fredrick answers the alternative is Daniels’s termination, which he assures him the BUAC will be more than happy to approve after his actions over the last few weeks.
Daniels simply scowls at Fredrick before leaving without saying another word. Robert Fredrick appologises to the man standing beside him, wearing a familiar fire embroidered mask, and asks if they can get back to business.
Break time!
Back from break and at the announce table, the announcers are stunned, not only about the announced “Father vs Son” match, but by Fredrick’s guest. Greg Stradford points out it was “That Masked Guy” El Hombre Loco Enmascarado, who spearheaded the recent Pollomania revival and the Buck U Cup. He wonders why he’s here and Paul Carlyle hopes it’s because he wants Stradford’s job.
MATCH 2
Vlars and Surf ‘n Turf (Vod and Zaros)
vs
Thing Uno w/ Thing Dos and The Moondogs (Buster and Runt w/The Guru)
Vlars appears to want nothing to do with his tag team partners, who seem to hold him in aw, while the opposong team seems to be at odds with one another. This match was made in part because of these six men’s inteaction with one another last week in the Lethal Lottery.
The match starts off between Vod and Buster. We are reminded that it was following these two’s lose to Cielo Guerrera and Sweet Daddy D last week that Vod attacked Buster, leaving him lying after hitting a Deep Six pile-driver. Neither man is able to get the advantage in the beginning, being roughly the same size and strength. It’s only when Zaros distract Buster that Vod is able to take charge and begin to wear him down. When the goblin is tagged in Buster is able to break away and tag in Runt, who’s wild antics apparently frighten Zaros and he rushes back to his corner, looking for Vlars to protect him.
Disgusted, the “Puke Bucket God” tags in and shoves Zaros out of the ring. Runt charges him, but catches a knee to the gut and rams Runt shoulder first into the corner and hitting some a shoulder breaker. He tosses Runt into his team’s corner and in comes Thing Uno, who would love to get a piece of Vlars. The man who likes to carry around the mop and bucket has other ideas and tags Zaros back into the match. The goblin is able to take advantage of Uno not keeping his attention on him to level the Dr Seus reject with a spear and begin to assault him.
Over the next few minutes Zaros and Vod make frequent tags, while Vlars refuses to tag into the match and barks out orders, which Surf ‘n Turf happily follow. Thing Uno is finally able to make a break for a tag, when Vod’s timing goes awry and nearly clotheslines his partner out of his boots rather than hit Uno. Just as he’s about to make the tag though, Runt and Buster drop off the apron and back away from the ring, leaving him stranded as they head to the back with their manager. Seeing this, Thing Dos jumps up on the apron and tags his partner. He tries to get into the match, but the referee, Jose Doe, doesn’t permit it and tries to get him back out of the ring.
Meanwhile, Surf ‘n Turf grab Thing Uno and hit their double team power bomb/block buster combo. Zaros tags in Vlars and as he and Vod and scurry out of the ring to make sure Dos doesn’t interfere. Vlars picks up Thing Uno and hits the Puke Bucket ace crusher and gets the victory for the team.
Winners: Vlars and Surf ‘n Turf
After the match Zaros and Vod continue to pay homage to Vlars, bowing to him and holding the ropes open for him. For his part, Vlars seems annoyed by them and marches off with them running to keep up. The announcers joke about this unlikely alliance as we go to break.
Back from break we find Eli Buchanan getting ready for tonight’s main event. He’s approached by Alna Hunter and the East K Connection, who we learn will be part of his team. Eli asks Easy E how his knee is and the masked man tells him it will be alright. The three of them want to know who their final partner will be. Eli tells them he was hoping it could be Takeshi Morimoto, but his “ani” had to return to BATTLE Japan last week after “Battle Bowl”. He tells the three of them not to worry though, the man he’s picked to be either fifth member is someone who he trusts with his life and promises that Asper’s Army is in for a big surprise.
***
Back at ringside we’re told by the announcers speculate who Eli Buchanan has picked. They go on to tell us that because of what happened before the break the Moondogs will face off with Things Uno and Dos one last time in a six man tag team match in two weeks time and that both teams will be permitted to name their own partners to help settle this feud.
MATCH 3
Television Title Match
Faititili (champion) (8 points)
vs
The Technician w/ The Guru (5 points)
The announcers point out that added security has been added at ringside as Robert Fredrick wants to make sure no one interfere’s into tonight’s Television Title Match. Paul Carlyle questions why this is needed and scoffs when Stradford tries to remind him of how Asper’s Army interfered in last week’s title match. Stradford also points out Asper probably wishes he could have taken that decision back as Eli had been posed to win the Television Title in that match and if he had he wouldn’t have been eligible to compete in the Lethal Lottery, since the Televison Champion wasn’t allowed to compete.
The match begins with Tech showing off some of his mat wrestling skill in an effort to show up the champion. Faititili bounces back quickly though and using some of his high speed offence. A running spin heel kick knocks the masked matman out of the ring and Faititili follows up his advantage with a flying plancha.
Something seems to be wrong though, as Tech screams out in pain. While Faititili is ordered back into the ring by referee Andrew Roller, trainers check on The Technician, who complains about landing on his foot wrong. He tries to stand, put quickly collapses in pain.
With everyone focusing on Tech, no one spots the Moondogs coming through the crowd and attacking Faititili from behind. Runt hits a running headbutt before handing the champ off to Buster, who drops the Samoan warrior with a running powerslam. Just as quick as they arrive, the pair exit and disappear back into the crowd.
It’s at this moment that The Technician is recovered enough to get up and slide back under the top rope. He goes for the cover, while The Guru starts to celebrate. Both of them are shocked when Faititili kicks out at two. The Technician, no longer even pretending to be injured, picks the champ up and hits a fisherman’s suplex, the same move he used to win his debut match, but they’re too close to the ropes and Faititili is able to get his foot on the bottom one to break up the pin.
Insensed, Tech decides to go to the top rope. This proves disaterous for him though as Faitititli manages to get to his feet and shakes the ropes. The Technician tumbles off the top rope and falls all the way to the arena floor. He appears to be really hurt this time, clutching at his right leg as Andrew Roller has no choice but count him out, while Faititli looks around to make sure he’s not blindsided again. Tech is in too much agony to answer Roller’s ten count and the champion gets the win by count out.
Winner: and still PWGP Television Champion, Faititili (10 points)
As The Technician is helped to the back by trainers and the Moondogs, who returned to ringside, Robert Fredrick comes out. He congratulates Faititili on winning here tonight and asks him if he wants to cash in his 10 points for the shot at the Global Title. Faititili says he does. Fredrick informs him as per BUAC ruling, the Television Champion cannot challenge for the Global Championship, so if he wants to face Eli Buchanan for the title next week, he’s going to have to relinquish the Television Title here tonight. Faititili takes one last look at his title before kissing it good bye and hands it over to Fredrick. The two of them shake hands and Fredrick formally announces that next week we will “The Last Dragon” Eli Buchanan defend the PWGP Global Championship against Faititili. He also tells us that we will have a one night tournament next week to crown a new Television Champion.
With those two huge announcements, we go to break and are told that up next is our huge ten man tag team main event.
Back from break and we find the announcers remind us of the huge show planned for next week. Not only will we see the “Father vs Son” match, there will also be a one night Television Title tournament to crown a new champion, as well as the Global Title being defended in the main event.
Asper’s Army makes their way down to the ring with Saul Asper in the lead, followed up by Kraken and Brody, The Agents of Pain and True North Ant in the back. Greg Stradord questions whether TNA might be in the doghouse after he was the only member of the Army not to make it to the Battle Bowl match and points out how Eli Buchanan actually pinned him to advance last week. Carlyle says he talked with Asper and everything is fine between them, blaming what happened on TNA’s partner, GRIM, who has since returned to PWGP’s sister promotion, BATTLE Japan.
The members of the opposing team start making their way out to ringside, starting off with Alan Hunter. The East K Connection, Sweet Daddy D and Easy E respectively come out next and join their friend at ringside. The new Global Champion, Eli Buchanan is out next, and his prompting, the four of them enter the ring and face off with their opponents. So wait, who’s the fifth guy?
The lights in the Sandledom go off and when they back on, the masked giant, Brutus Smith is in the ring, standing with his large hand on Eli’s shoulder. Asper and his men are taken back at his sudden appearance, while the crowd is excited. All ten men begin to battle it out in the ring with the faces quickly getting the advantage and clear all the members of Asper’s Army out of the ring. We go to out last commercial break just as Brute grabs hold of Agent B and tosses him clear over the top rope onto his partners on the floor.
MAIN EVENT
MATCH 4
Eli Buchanan, Brutus Smith, Alan Hunter and The East K Connection (Easy E & Sweet Daddy D)
vs
Asper's Army: Kraken, Mack Brody, True North Ant and The Agents of Pain (Agents B & D) w/ Saul Asper
We return to find Jose Doe doing his best to maintain order in this huge match. We spot Andrew Roller and PWGP’s newest in-ring official, Mark Lindsey, at ringside, to help keep out.
Currently Team Buchanan is working over True North Ant, making frequent tags and working over his left arm. Brutus Smith is tagged into the match and TNA rakes Easy E’s eyes to get away from him before Brute can grab a hold of him. Jose Doe admonishes him for doing this and True North Ant choses to shove him.
Not willing to put up with this, Jose Doe informs him that he’s gone from the match. As all the members of Asper’s team protest this decision, we learn from Stradfird that Robert Fredrick has given the referees the right to eject a participant from a match should they lay their hands on an official. Carlyle uses some colourful language that probably will get him fined by the BUAC, but regardless of how he or the members of Asper’s Army feel, True North Ant is escorted out of the ringside area by Roller and Lindsey and the match continues with handicap rules.
“Iron” Mack Brody enters the ring and goes right at Brute, who shoves him away as iff he was a lightweight. He tries again, going for an collar and elbow lock up and once again gets tossed. Deciding to rethink his strategy, Brody walks over and spits on Easy E, goaded him to get into the ring. Easy E begs Brute to tag him back in and he rushes into the ring. Ducking an attempted clothesline, Easy E catches Brody with a series of punches before bouncing off the ropes and trying to take the big man down with a clothesline. Brody is only rocked, so Easy E goes for another, only to tumble out of the ring as Agent D pulls down the top rope. Jose Doe misses the whole things as he’s distracted with Asper, who had jumped up on the apron.
Brody rolls out of the ring to pick Easy E up. As he tosses him back in the ring we’re told we have to go to our very last commercial break.
Returning from break we find Easy E locked in a bear hug by Kraken and we’re told that throughout the break it’s been all Asper’s Army. On the farside of the ring E’s partners are cheering him on, begging him to continye fighting and get to them somehow.
Out of desperation, Easy E bites Kraken’s nose. He’s admonshed by the referee, but the illegal move works as intended, causing the French Canadian Colossus to release the hold and grab his nose in pain. Easy E tries to get to his corener, but Kraken catches him with a clubbing blow to the back of the head drags him back to the corner to tag in Agent D.
Asper’s Army continue to work over Easy E, making more frequent tags. That is until Agent B goes climbs to the top rope and goes for a flying leg drop. Easy E is able to roll out of the way, causing Agent B to land awkwardly on his tail bone. Both men try to recover and make tags at the same time. In comes Sweet Daddy D and Agent D. The two men who share the same letter at the end of their names go at it but the Sweetner gets control with a reverse atomic drop and a clothesline. He goes for a super kick but gets tackled by Agent B. This leads to Easy E coming back in to help his partner, but he’s leveled by Brody. Eli Buchanan charges in and hits a running lariat on Brody but he too is taken down, this time by Kraken. Brutus Smith is the final one to get into the mix and uses his size to help out his team mates. Brody receives a headbutt by the masked giant and is shoved over the top rope. Kraken tries match up with the giant, but gets a headbutt as well and falls out between the ropes.
While Kraken and Brody try to recover, Easy E and Alan Hunter ascend the corner together and drop down on them, taking them out of the match. Sweet Daddy D catches Agent B with a super kick, which causes B to drop to a knee and he gets caught with a Boyame from Eli Buchanan. Agent D eats a super kick of his own from the Sweetner and stumbles right into the grasp of Brute, who choke-slams him in the middle of the ring. Both Brute and Sweet Daddy D point to Eli, who ascends the top rope. Brute stands in the corner and Eli climbs onto his shoulder. With the giant helping him to stand up, Eli leaps off and hits a frog splash on Agent D and while Brute and Easy E stand guard, he gets the three count.
Winners: Eli Buchanan, Brutus Smith, Alan Hunter and The East K Connection.
Paul Carlyle complains how unfair this whole match was since True North Ant was wrongfully ejected from the match. Stradford ignores him, putting over how this is the first real big loss for Asper’s Army and what a hug victory this is for Eli and his team mates.
Alan Hunter and Easy E get in the ring to celebrate the victory with their partners, as Asper and his men recover on the stage. We’re reminded about next week’s hug show: Father vs Son, the Television Title Tournament, and the first defence ever of the PWGP Global Championship.
We go off the air with a last glimpse of Eli’s team celebrating in the ring before the show fades to black.
So in the meantime and in between time... Good night, God bless and may the Force be with you.
