Ben Chrenshaw is pacing back and forth near the medical area, absentmindedly flipping a coin up into the air and catching it without looking. He lightly flips it up, then a hand grabs it before it hits his palm... Chrenshaw looks up and smirks. Matt Pulver.
MATT PULVER You know this is eerily like one of the first times we met?
It was indeed true, the early pavement set in Lion's Road was due in part to the Best of Three - the Iron Series - between the two men. Chrenshaw had bested the young Swede and won the Iron Championship. Even after that, the two had battles. It seemed as though it was their destiny to intertwine. BEN CHRENSHAW On the opposite sides of the ring again...
Pulver smirked as Chrenshaw let his words hang in the air.
MATT PULVER It's not the first time.
Both men's smirks turn a bit serious, their eyes showing their competitive nature. They know what facing one another does to them.
MATT PULVER And it won't be the last.
Chrenshaw smirks before returning to his normal carefree look. BEN CHRENSHAW We're two sides of the same coin, Matt.
Matt nods and looks down at the coin, then glances at Chrenshaw before flipping it up. Without breaking his stare, the coin falls back into his hand and he snatches his palm closed before Chrenshaw can see what it was.
BEN CHRENSHAW Heads or tails?
Pulver looks to the coin in his hand and then looks up to Ben and smirks before he walks past the Crippler. BEN CHRENSHAW Is that how you want to end this?
Ben doesn't turn as he says the words. A smirk forming on his own lips. Pulver continues to walk away. MATT PULVER Remember, Ben. Actions speak louder than words.Pulver stops as Dr. Pierson walks in, Chrenshaw chuckles and exits. DR. PIERSON You're not being cleared. MATT PULVER What?! DR. PIERSON Can't do it. MATT PULVER It's a six man... DR. PIERSON Triples your chances of aggravating it. MATT PULVER I don't have to tag i--DR. PIERSON We both know you will, I'm not stupid. I'm sorry, Matt. That's why there's a commission. I'll let Mr. Nelson know. Pierson exits the room, Pulver chucks the coin down on the floor in frustration.

Becky Chande motions for the camera to follow her as we return from break. Eli Buchanan and his wife, Charlotte on entering the building through the parkade. Becky approaches them and shares a quick hug with Charlotte before speaking. BECKY CHANDE Eli, we just learned that Matt Pulver has not been medically cleared to compete here tonight. Barring a last minute replacement, that leaves you and David Troy at a two on three disadvantage when you face Ben Chrenshaw, A.J. Knight and the ever dangerous, Derek Draven. ELI BUCHANAN Damn, Becky, here I was going to try to be nice to you for a change, and here you go once again acting as the bearer of bad news.Charlotte elbows him in the chest and he winces. ELI BUCHANAN Sorry. How are you, Becky?BECKY CHANDE Umm, I'm fine. How are you? ELI BUCHANAN I was fine until you that. If it was almost anyone else I might be questioning if they were pulling a fast one so they wouldn't have to face our opponents tonight and leave me high and dry, but I know enough about Pulver to realise that something pretty severe must have happened to keep him from competing. So this is what I'm going to do, I'm going down to that ring and I'm going to kick some ass. If that means it ends up being three on one, because I'm not sure if anyone has heard from Davey Boy Troy, then so be it. I might go down in flames tonight, but Lord help me, if my former Red Army buddies and the dark prophet, Draven think I'm going to go down quietly they'll be sorely mistaken.Charlotte steps back into the picture and hangs up her phone. CHARLOTTE BUCHANAN Before you start planning to go down with the ship there, I think I've found a solution. ELI BUCHANAN If it includes hiring a big hairy Texan to take out A.J. for me, I've already tried that. CHARLOTTE BUCHANAN Close, I've found you and Troy a tag team partner.ELI BUCHANAN Who? Please don't tell me it's said Texan or that fat bastard in the mask because both of them want to hurt me more than the three ass clowns I'm facing tonight.Charlotte smiles at him and winks. CHARLOTTE BUCHANAN You're just going to have to trust me. This will be something people in Lions Road will be talking about for months.BECKY CHANDE But who is it, Charlie?CHARLOTTE BUCHANAN You'll just have to wait and see, Becky.ELI BUCHANAN Charlie... CHARLOTTE BUCHANAN You're just going to have to trust me, Tiger. Have I ever steered you wrong? He's about to say something before she lies a finger on his lips. She blows him a kiss and walks away leaving him and Beck looking dumbfounded at one another. BECKY CHANDE Don't look at me, she's your wife.ELI BUCHANAN (shaking his head) She's your friend. What does that say about both of us?He grabs his bag and follows after his wife. THROWBACK THURSDAY - HERITAGE CUP FINALS 2017 February 9th, 2017 in Sarnia, Ontario - Corey Cruelty vs. La Cucaracha Heritage Heavyweight Title MatchLa Cucaracha grabs Corey Cruelty in a clinch and drops to her knees, bring his chin down on her head. He stumbles backwards, holding his jaw in pain... he turns back and charges at her, but the challenger ducks it! She hits the ropes and clobbers Cruelty with a flying forearm that sends him out to the floor! She rallies the Sarnia crowd behind her... then charges into the ropes, then leaps onto the top rope and cannonballs herself out of the ring onto Cruelty! The crowd erupts as both crash into the guardrail. Cucaracha tries rushing to her feet, but falls back down to her knees before she grabs the ring skirt and hurls herself in. Garner's count reaches six on Cruelty as she pulls herself to her feet. She stands there, glancing back and forth between Garner and Cruelty. The count reaches eight and she drops back down to the mat and rolls out, breaking the count to grab Cruelty and chuck him back inside just as the round ends. CHAD GOMEZ: That's not La Cucaracha! The Cockroach that I know would've left him out there for dead, maybe would've tied his shoelaces together so he'd trip on his way back to the ring. SAM HEWITT: A great display of sportsmanship from La Cucaracha, breaking the count to throw Corey Cruelty back inside the ring. She could've won the title on a count out, but she wants to win it inside the ring. CHAD GOMEZ: It could come back to bite her!Round three begins and La Cucaracha storms from her corner, Cruelty clocks her with a forearm... but she returns fire! Cruelty! Cuca! Cruelty! Cuca! Cruelty gets rocked back into the ropes by the last shot and comes charging back out, but gets a drop toe hold for his troubles! La Cucaracha grabs his arm... LA MAGISTRAL! 1... ... 2... ... 3-NO! Both champion and challenger lay exhausted on the mat as Garner's ten count begins. At seven, Cucaracha gets up to a knee... the crowd comes alive in shock as Cruelty springs to his feet and pulls Cucaracha in for the Oblivion but she backs him up into the corner! She tries to back out, but Cruelty still has her! He turns around and goes for it again but gets backdropped! He lands on his feet! He turns, kicks the unsuspecting Cucaracha in the gut and hooks her arms... JOIN ME IN DARKNESS! The inverted double underhook facebuster! Cruelty rolls his challenger on her back and drops on top! 1... ... 2... ... 3 NO FOOT ON THE ROPES! The Sarnia crowd pops huge as Garner waves off the three, pointing to Cucaracha's foot on the bottom rope. Cruelty turns to argue with Garner about the call, but is speechless... he doesn't know what to say! Cucaracha lays motionless... so Cruelty covers her again! Hooking the leg that was previously on the ropes! 1... ... 2... SHOULDER UP! Cruelty shakes his head, pulls her to her feet and puts his thumbs down! He grabs her around the waist, but she drops to a knee! He clubs her in the back and hoists her up.. THE ROUND ENDS! Garner waves it off, telling Cruelty to put her down! The champion does so without issue, but is clearly frustrated by this turn of events. CHAD GOMEZ: Saved by the bell, Sam! She was doomed!SAM HEWITT: Given her craftiness, she may have found a way out of it - we'll never know.Round four begins... Cruelty cuts right to the chase, sprinting across the ring and kicking Cucaracha in the gut! He pulls her in for the Piledriver but she backdrops him into a pin! 1... ... 2... CRUELTY POWER BRIDGES UP! He turns Cucaracha over and goes for the Oblivion again... wait-no! He pulls her up for a powerbomb! He throws her forward instead of powerbombing her... and she lands on her feet! Cruelty kicks her, pulls her in... CUCARACHA JACKKNIFE HOLD! 1... ... 2... ... 3! THE PLACE GOES NUTS! Hewitt and Gomez get drowned out by the pop! Cucaracha leaps to her feet, climbs the turnbuckles and throws her arms in the air. Garner hands her the Heritage belt, she looks at it for a few moments before clutching it to her chest.

The scene comes up on AJ Knight, as it so frequently finds him, standing next to Becky Chande. BECKY CHANDE AJ it's been a big couple of weeks for you, a draw with Edwards with a very near title victory, earning a title shot against The Hardliners last week, and next week you head to Japan to try to earn a Junior Heavyweight Championship match with Matt Pulver. How are you feeling tonight? AJ KNIGHT Well Beckiffer, I'll tell you I'm a bit frustrated I'm not in the finals tonight but I definitely look forward to seeing who comes out on top. Not only because I think it will be a fantastic match between two great competitors but because I have petitioned both the Laurentide Athletic Commission, and Mandeville Nelson to get first crack at whoever wins. Both have said they would take it under advisement, they said Eli's also got a claim, but considering he cut in line in front of me last time, I think it's only fair. BECKY CHANDE Well, who would you rather face?AJ KNIGHT Honestly? It doesn't matter to me one bit. Kincaid's been on a hell of a roll as of late, I can appreciate a road to redemption so I'd like to see him complete his. But by the same token Edwards is someone I still have yet to definitively beat one on one. I'll tell you one thing though, I'll be watching this closely.BECKY CHANDE One more question: Care to give us a prediction about the main event tonight?AJ KNIGHT I'll tell you what, it depends on which Whitaker we get. If we get the fired up killer we saw at Roaring Rumble, then we'll have a new champion. If not then Irvine will continue to give The King of The Lion's Title that old person smell.Becky gives AJ a look BECKY CHANDE You really don't like Irvine do you?AJ KNIGHT Does anyone actually like Irvine? The guy's a grouchy old fart who managed to get lucky one night. Edwards showed everyone he's no true king. He's just keeping the throne warm until a real king shows up to take it. Hopefully for Lion's Road Carl's that king, if not? Well then I'll be there soon enough. After all he stole that throne from me at the Rumble. And sooner or later I'm coming to collect! And I always collect my debts in the end, just ask that piece of shit Hammerstein I dealt with last year! AJ walks off intensely off of that statement! BECKY CHANDE Well, there's AJ Knight. I'm being told that we have a camera on the mystery partner for Buchanan and Troy, so let's go there.
Lynx is standing by.
LYNX Many things have changed since the last time I walked The Lion’s Road. Julian Cutlass, the longest reigning King of Lions, was removed from the throne by his Black Lion's Road partner, Alexander Irvine. Hammerstein, who was the hero to the people, spat in their faces, and became the bane of their existence, while his nemesis, Tiger Mask Red, removed the mask, became Eli Buchanan, and has sought to become a man of honor. And Ben Chrenshaw and AJ Knight, who had fought alongside Eli Buchanan as members of his Red Army, joined with Matt Pulver to fight against Hammerstein and his Midnight Horsemen, banishing them from Lion's Road. Now, I find myself replacing Matt Pulver to team with Eli Buchanan and David Troy to lucha against Ben Chrenshaw, AJ Knight, and Derek Draven. I've been away from Lion's Road for far too long, and I was more than happy to accept the offer to return. Senors Buchanan and Troy, I commit myself to this team and will bring victory against Chrenshaw, Knight, and Draven.
He smiles.
LYNX
Senors Chrenshaw, Knight, and Draven, it is time for The Lynx to once again stalk The Lion’s Road, and I am hunting you.

We join this one in progress. AJ Knight drops Lynx down on his knee with an atomic drop, sending the luchador down to the mat. Knight backs up and tags in Derek Draven, who marches in and snatches Lynx up off the mat. He grabs his leg and folds it at the knee, then runs and drives it up against the top turnbuckle! Lynx goes down to the mat like a sack of potatoes! Eli Buchanan and David Troy exchange a look - each knowing they need to get in this match and save it for their team. Draven stands over Lynx, allowing him to get up to his knees before delivering a vicious headbutt! Lynx topples over, falling against the middle rope. The self-proclaimed Pariah of Pro-Wrestling backs up into the ropes and tags Chrenshaw in, but not before rushing across the ring and stomping Lynx in the lower back! Lynx arches his back in pain and falls to the mat. Ben Chrenshaw comes in and sneers as Lynx crawls toward his corner, hoping to make the tag. Chrenshaw pulls him away... LYNX HITS HIM WITH A PALM STRIKE! Chrenshaw absorbs the shot and kicks him in the leg! Lynx flops to the mat, Chrenshaw grabs him and easily turns him over with the single leg crab! Both Buchanan and Troy dash into the ring, but a save is not necessary as Lynx quickly grabs the bottom rope. CHAD GOMEZ So what's the call if two guys break up the submission? They both lose their respective save?SAM HEWITT I would imagine Powell would call it as whoever touched the opponent first.Chrenshaw tags AJ back in, who walks in and picks up where Chrenshaw left off. He grabs a leg and applies a single leg crab of his own, but Chrenshaw stands guard between he and Lynx's corner - daring them to come help. Again, it's not needed as Lynx grabs the ropes just as quickly as the hold is applied. AJ holds it until four then breaks, Powell warns him about that but AJ tells him, "IT'S A FIVE COUNT, BUSTER!" before stomping on Lynx's leg. He grabs the leg again, then digs his left leg into Lynx's thigh as he kneels down, holding it straight over his right leg. Lynx cries out in agony, but David Troy runs in to break up the hold and use up his save in this match. Troy's face crusher puts AJ's head to the mat and Lynx rolls over onto his stomach and crawls toward the corner, Troy gets back just in time to grab the tag rope and make the tag - hopping right back in. Troy grabs AJ in a clinch and begins battering him with knees, he begins slowing down and AJ uses that chance to rake his eyes! Powell warns him about it, but AJ just responds, "GIMME A CARD!" and hoofs Troy in the stomach. He grabs him by the head and slams him into the top turnbuckle, then slaps hands with Chrenshaw to bring him. SAM HEWITT You've got to think there's some unfinished business here! David Troy upset Chrenshaw in the first round of the Heritage Cup.CHAD GOMEZ Which makes that what... three tournaments he's failed to win? SAM HEWITT Laurentide, Iron Road, Heritage - yup, three.Chrenshaw grabs Troy and chucks him backwards, using the ropes to spring him forward into a knee. Troy falls down into a seated position, Chrenshaw paint brushes him with his boot! He drags him to his feet and snaps off a vicious suplex. Chrenshaw floats over for a pin, but snatches up Troy's head, lifting his shoulders off the mat. He headbutts him back down! Chrenshaw stands up and backs into the ropes, tagging in Draven before dropping a knee on Troy's face! The Pariah comes in and puts his knee down on Troy's back after "Dynamite" rolled over onto his stomach. Draven grabs around his neck and cranks back. Lynx runs in and dropkicks Draven! The Pariah falls over and AJ reaches in for the tag, he storms in and begins stomping Troy's back. He pulls him to his feet and then scoops him up... before slamming him right back down! Troy grunts in pain, AJ makes a quick lateral press. 1... ... 2-KICK OUT! He grabs Troy up off the mat and goes to Irish whip him, but its countered! BACKSLIDE! 1... ... 2... ... 3-NO! Knight kicks out and gets ready to go back on the attack, but Troy nails him with a dropkick! AJ falls against the ropes... bounces back out, Troy waylays him with an enzuigiri! AJ topples to the mat, Troy begins clawing his way toward Buchanan. AJ rolls out of the ring, Derek Draven comes running in on the automatic tag and grabs Troy's leg and pulls him back into the centre of the ring. Draven stomps between the shoulder blades, then hustles Troy to his feet with a front chancery before delivering dynamite of his own with a hangman's neckbreaker! Draven rolls Troy onto his stomach then takes a seat on his lower back, reaching up and pulling back on his head for a Camel Clutch, but one in which he doesn't have the arms restrained. Troy does his best to inch forward, slowly but surely as Draven applies pressure on him. Troy fights to his knees, Draven tries to stand up and drive his weight down on Troy's back but Dynamite bucks him back into the corner! Before AJ or Chrenshaw can grab him, Troy drops to the mat and begins crawling toward Eli Buchanan. Chrenshaw storms into the ring and cracks the former Tiger Mask Red with a forearm, knocking him off the apron! He smacks Lynx with one too! JAKE AARONS Referee Buster Powell has issued a yellow card to Ben Chrenshaw for illegally entering the ring! His save has been revoked! This is his first public warning!Chrenshaw exits, Draven pulls Troy up to his feet and clobbers him with a headbutt. Troy drops to a knee, Draven yanks him into position for a piledriver... TROY BACK DROPS HIM! Dynamite dives for the tag! HE MAKES IT! Buchanan storms into the ring! The fans are going wild for Eli Buchanan - it's a weird scene indeed! He grabs Draven and delivers an exploder suplex! He gets up and attacks AJ AND Chrenshaw to knock them both off the apron! He turns to see Draven rolling out, AJ slips in behind him and goes for a superkick but Eli ducks it and turns around to deliver a dropkick! AJ goes down and rolls out, Chrenshaw comes in... he grabs Eli from behind and turns him around. Knee after knee after knee as he backs him into the corner. He finishes off the sequence with a knee to the head, but then Irish whips Buchanan across the ring into a neutral corner. Chrenshaw charges in... BUCHANAN BOOTS HIM! The Crippler staggers away, Buchanan sizes him up... YAKUZA KI-NO! Chrenshaw ducks! Buchanan turns around... LARIAT! Chrenshaw falls to the mat, Buchanan calls for the BOMAYE knee. AJ grabs his foot from the outside! Eli tries to move but sees what's up, he turns and gets yanked out by AJ. Lynx leaps onto the top rope and delivers a missile dropkick to Chrenshaw! The Crippler goes down and rolls out of the ring near AJ and Eli. Lynx begins clapping, readying the audience for a dive... BUT DEREK DRAVEN CONNECTS WITH HIS SCYTHE OF SORROW LARIAT AS HE TURNS AROUND! He covers! 1... ... 2... ... 3! The crowd boos as Draven rolls off, AJ and Eli keep fighting. Chrenshaw attacks Eli from behind and the duo chuck him inside the ring. David Troy tries to help, but Draven blindsides him! SAM HEWITT The trio of Chrenshaw, Draven and AJ got the numbers advantage here, Lynx is out cold. Buchanan's doing his best, Troy is fighting back also. CHAD GOMEZ But that's a hell of a trio to try and fight when you're outmanned, Sambo. SAM HEWITT No doubt about it!Draven and Chrenshaw hold Eli for AJ to strike, but he hesitates. Charlotte Buchanan rushes down to ringside, she climbs up onto the apron and demands they stop! Draven starts toward her, but she shouts - "LYNX ISN'T THE ONLY PERSON I CALLED!" and a commotion begins in the crowd. HAMMERSTEIN!? Indeed, Hammerstein enters the ring with a bloodstained chair in his hands. He begins swinging, Draven goes down, Chrenshaw eats a shot. AJ tries to grab it, but gets it in the stomach and over the back! Hammer strikes down David Troy as he attempts to get up, then sees Eli Buchanan. Buchanan gulps, knowing he's dead to rights at this moment. Hammerstein smiles and raises the chair... ONLY TO CHUCK IT IN LYNX'S FACE! Hammerstein grabs his chair and exits, jumping the guardrail as Eli looks at his wife in confusion. SAM HEWITT The first time we've seen Hammerstein in months and he blasts five out of six people in the ring with that steel chair, but spares Eli. CHAD GOMEZ He can thank Charlotte for that.
SAM HEWITT I guess... but why is he here? I thought the score with AJ was settled?!Hewitt's question goes unanswered, the show cuts to commercial.

JAKE AARONS Ladies and gentlemen, here to make the special prematch declaration for this fourteenth King of Lions championship bout is first generation King of Lions Champion... Teddy Davis!
Davis gets some applause as he walks up and shakes Irvine's hand, then shakes hands with Whitaker.
TEDDY DAVIS It is here tonight in Detroit, Michigan... on January 25th, 2018 that Alexander Irvine looks to make his first defense of the King of Lions Championship. This is the first time since September 29th, 2016 that the title has been defended by anyone other than Julian Cutlass. Carl Whitaker is looking to become only the fourth person to hold two titles simultaneously in Lion's Road history. These two men are vying for the crown known as the King of Lions - the highest honour in all of Lion's Road. May the best of you two emerge victorious this evening and lay claim to the title of King of Lion's Road!
Davis waves to the fans and exits.
JAKE AARONS Ladies and gentlemen, this King of Lions title bout is to be fought over a thirty minute time limit with one fall, one submission or a knockout to decide the winner! The atmosphere is electric! JAKE AARONS Introducing the challenger. He is fighting out of Beaumont, Texas! He weighs in at two hundred and twenty eight pounds... OL' STONEHANDS! CARL WHITAKER!Whitaker raises his half of the World tag team titles before handing it off to Eli Buchanan, his partner. Buchanan gingerly steps off the apron, selling his attack from earlier. JAKE AARONS Introducing the champion. He is fighting out of Keokuk, Iowa! He weighs in at two hundred and twenty pounds... the current, reigning and defending King of Lions Champion... THE UNNATURAL! ALEXANDER IRVINE!
Irvine unfastens his title belt and gives it to Xavier Price, while Jimmy Winner attempts to grab the towel off his head. Irvine snarls at him and Jimmy apologizes. JAKE AARONS Your referee for this bout is Xavier Price! The bell sounds to begin the bout. Alexander Irvine, the champion and Carl Whitaker, the challenger briefly circle around before Irvine rushes his challenger and strikes him with a flying knee! Whitaker crumbles from the shot and Irvine walks off, checking his non existent watch. Referee Xavier Price checks Whitaker quickly, then stands up - telling Irvine to stay back as he begins his ten count. 1... 2... 3... 4... 5... 6... 7... Whitaker gets up, rolls onto his hands and knees and then stands up. Irvine grabs him in a clinch and begins unleashing a barrage of knee strikes, terrorizing the Texan back into the ropes. From there, he grabs a front waist hold and bulls the Bull to the mat with a belly to belly suplex. Irvine floats over looking to apply an armbar and does, but Whitaker grabs the ropes quickly to prevent any damage from being done. Irvine lets go at four and that gets a verbal warning from Price as Whitaker drops to the floor. Irvine leans through the ropes, telling Whitaker to "get back in here and be my bitch!" to a gasp from the crowd. SAM HEWITT All Irvine in the early moments, I would imagine he's got a lot of pent up frustration from his countout loss to James Edwards that he's looking to use in this title match vs. Whitaker. CHAD GOMEZ Absolutely. Understatement of the year! He lost to a guy he doesn't lik--well, he doesn't like anyone so I guess that doesn't do it justice. He lost. Irvine hates losing. He's beaten Ol' Stonehands Whitaker before and knows what it takes, but he also knows that Whitaker has the power to stop this match with one simple punch. So he's doing what he can to stop him before that can happen.Whitaker gets in and stands within close proximity of Irvine, close enough to get himself leg kicked. Whitaker responds with a jab, but another leg kick follows. Irvine dodges the next jab attempt and clinches up with Whitaker but the challenger shows off his wrestling background with an excellent trip and takedown. Whitaker lands in half guard and transitions to side control quickly, Irvine puts his leg up to prevent the knee on belly transition attempt into mount. Whitaker tries to push the leg down but eats a palm strike, Irvine sweeps him and lands in half guard. He uses his right leg to hold down Whitaker's left, then puts his left knee on Whitaker's stomach and in one swift motion, advances position and tries for an armbar again! He gets it, but Whitaker clasps his hands together in an attempt to defend it. Whitaker has to keep turning his face to avoid Irvine's heel coming down on his face. He eventually turns, folding Irvine up a bit and after a hammerfist to Irvine's face, frees himself up. Whitaker gets side control on Irvine and knees the body a couple of times before holding down an arm and trying to line up a shot to the head. SAM HEWITT Whitaker looking to unleash a knee to the head, I don't think Stoneknees is as catchy as Stonehands... but a knee to the head could end this thing in a hurry.Irvine knows this and brings his own knee up, grazing Whitaker enough that the challenger covers up. Irvine scrambles up and takes Whitaker's back, looking for the perfect shot - he waits patiently for Whitaker to try and transition out or make his own move. Whitaker in turn is waiting for him. We've reached a stalemate and Irvine backs off, Whitaker stands up and Irvine smiles a devilish smile. Whitaker circles around Irvine, the two talking a bit of inaudible trash... Irvine snaps off a leg kick, a palm strike and a knee in a quick and efficient combination. He tries to advance after seeing the knee has affected Whitaker some, but ol' Stonehands fakes him out with a right hand shot into a takedown attempt. Irvine spins around, dropping to all fours. Whitaker tries to flatten Irvine out, but the King of Lions fights up to his feet and uses his right leg to assist in throwing Whitaker down to the mat. Whitaker winds up in the ropes, so there is no follow up available to him. Of course, that's never stopped him before. Irvine walks right up, grabs Whitaker in a clinch and knees him several times, dropping him to the mat. Price tries to step in so he can begin his ten count, but Irvine keeps on delivering punches to Whitaker - who's defending them well enough. Price intervenes finally. CHAD GOMEZ Dropped by the knee strikes in the clinch! Back a guy into the corner and he's got nowhere to go but into your knee! I'll give credit where it's due of course, Whitaker took a hell of a shot and is getting to his feet looking like he's with it.SAM HEWITT Looking like and are are vastly different. It all depends how hard he got struck.Barely out of the corner, Whitaker stuffs a takedown from Irvine and goes for some knees to the body! Whitaker does a go behind, grabbing him for a rear waist hold. Once more, Irvine launches him forward with a hip toss. He lands in side control and clamps on a grounded side headlock, sticking Whitaker's right arm between his legs. Knowing he doesn't have much choice, Whitaker starts bucking up and manages to wiggle his way close enough to the ropes to drape his leg across the bottom one. At four, Irvine lets go but he pulls Whitaker to his feet and snaps off an overhead style belly to belly suplex and moves right into side control, trying to secure a kimura lock. Once more, Whitaker does a good job of defending it - keeping his body contorted properly to avoid being hurt by the move. He swings his leg, trying to find the ropes and manages to snag the middle rope causing Price to call for the break. Irvine gets up, ready to continue the attack on Whitaker but a throat thrust stops him in his tracks. Whitaker jabs him, then grabs him by the head and drives his knee into Irvine's stomach. A second one follows and Irvine drops to a knee, Whitaker grabs him by the wrist and hauls him up. He lifts him up into the air and turns to drop him with the Beaumont (Spine)buster, but Irvine has latched on with a guillotine choke! SAM HEWITT Guillotine choke! An excellent counter move to prevent the spinebuster! Whitaker could go ahead and slam him to the mat, but he runs the risk of spiking his own head. Irvine tightens his grip and tries rocking back and forth with his legs wrapped around his challenger, Whitaker drops to a knee... BUT FIRES RIGHT BACK UP! He drives Irvine into the corner turnbuckles! BUT IRVINE DOESN'T LET GO! Whitaker grabs the ropes, Price begins the count and once more - four is the magic number for Irvine to release it. Irvine shoves Whitaker down and crouches down, like a lion in wait. Ol' Stonehands begins the journey back to his feet, Irvine rushes in and the Wolf strikes him with a jumping knee! Whitaker falls to the mat! Price immediately checks him, Irvine walks off. 1... 2... 3... 4... 5... 6... 7... 8... Whitaker grabs the top rope and pulls himself to his feet. The King of Lions decides to rush him once more, looking for a second (or third, technically) flying knee. Whitaker manages to move out of the way and turns around, swinging that dangerous right hand. Irvine ducks the shot, he grabs Whitaker in a clinch but the challenger catches his knee and charges forward, backdropping Irvine to the mat! Irvine lands hard and dangerously. Price begins his count. 1... 2... 3... 4... 5... Irvine rolls onto his side, getting up but looking very unsteady. As Whitaker approaches, Irvine falls back to a knee. Whitaker grabs him... LIVER SHOT BY IRVINE! Whitaker's eyes widen, he drops to a knee but gets back up and falls against the ropes. Irvine stalks him down, knowing Whitaker is his now. Buchanan shouts to Carl, "keep moving!" and Whitaker's face grimaces as he pushes off the ropes, landing on the adjacent set. Irvine moves in, a sadistic eagerness on his f-- BIG RIGHT HAND FROM WHITAKER! Irvine's face is wallopped by the hands of stone, he slumps to the mat. Whitaker falls forward also. Price checks out both men, then stands up. 1... 2... 3... 4... 5... 6... Whitaker tries getting to his knees, but falls to the mat in pain. 7... Irvine moves his head to the left, a clear glaze on his eyes. 8... Buchanan's "COME ON" jolts Whitaker. 9... He nearly screams in agony as he rolls to his side, gets a knee underneath him... AND CRUMPLES AGAIN! 10! The bell sounds, Price waves off the match and stage hands and medics pile in. Buchanan and Winner attend to their respective fighters. Irvine sits up, shoves Winner away and asks what happened. Meanwhile, Whitaker is still writhing in pain on the mat! SAM HEWITT Unbelievable! Irvine caught Whitaker with a vicious liver shot and tried to go in for the kill as Whitaker was doing his damnedest to stay on his feet, but the challenger caught him coming in with that big right hook and it knocked Irvine out no doubt about it, but the liver shot was too much for Whitaker to recover from. He's still down!Jake Aarons takes the ring. JAKE AARONS Ladies and gentlemen, the official call from referee Xavier Price is a double knockout! This match is a draw! There's not much booing from the crowd, they're all still in shock from the sudden turn of events. Irvine gets up, a bit woozy... Winner helps steady him, but Irvine pushes off of him to go see what happened with Whitaker. He manages to push some of the staff aside and looks down at him, Whitaker looks up... Irvine holds the title high.

JAKE AARONS Ladies and gentlemen, this Heritage Cup final and Heritage Heavyweight title bout is your main event of the evening! It is to be fought over a thirty minute time limit with one fall, one submission or a knockout to decide the winner! Introducing the challenger. He is fighting out of the Platinum Coast by way of Bearing, Alberta! He weighs in at two hundred and forty pounds... THE BULLET KING! ALEX KINCAID!Kincaid steps forward, pounding his chest and raising his arm to a good pop. His wife, Alyssa cheers him from ringside. JAKE AARONS Introducing the champion. He is fighting out of Lexington, Kentucky! He weighs in at two hundred and four pounds... the current, reigning and defending Heritage Heavyweight Champion... THE BURNING HEART! JAMES EDWARDS!Edwards raises his title high before handing it to referee Cordell Garner, who takes it and raises it above his head. Kincaid looks longingly at it, but turns his focus back to Edwards. Pulver slaps the mat a few times in support of his partner. JAKE AARONS Your referee for this bout is Cordell Garner! With that the bell sounds, the champion and challenger circle around cautiously. Both Edwards and Kincaid have fought a hard road to get to this final and one wrong movement in the early moments could spell a quick end, so the cautious approach is necessary. They lock-up, Kincaid grabs an arm and tries to do a go behind but Edwards clamps on a rear waist hold to keep his arm in front of him. Kincaid lowers himself a bit and tries to use the arm to spin out a standing switch, but Edwards counters it right back into their original positioning. Kincaid drops to a seated position on the mat and tries to roll his hips and attempt a takedown, but Edwards blocks that too - dropping to his knees with a front chancery. He rides back around, taking the back and applying a rear waist hold again. Kincaid begins to get up but instead opts to drop down quickly, slinging Edwards forward and over. The champion gets up with an outwitted smirk on his face. Kincaid dusts off his hands like it was no big deal. CHAD GOMEZ So here's what I dig about this match. Alex Kincaid hasn't shown it an awful lot yet here in Lion's Road, but the guy can be aggravating. A more grown up version of AJ Knight, perhaps. You see how much the personalities of AJ and Edwards clash, so imagine what Kincaid can do to get under the champion's skin. The dusting of the hands is a great, simple tactic. Edwards' smirk disappeared in a hurry. The two men circle again, a lock-up ends with a side headlock from Edwards. He drops to a knee, really torquing on the pressure. Kincaid fights up and tries to push Edwards into the ropes and out, but the Burning Heart drops right back down and cranks on it some more. His forearm digging across the cheekbone of Kincaid, controlling his movements. The Bullet King grabs the arm and tries to power out with a top wrist lock... and does, transitioning quickly into a side headlock of his own. Edwards tries to remain calm and takes a few calculated steps toward the ropes, backing Kincaid into them. He pushes off, but Kincaid, much like he did, drops down to his knees and turns the pressure up on the so-called rest hold. The agony in Edwards' grunt tells you that this is anything but pleasant as he grabs Kincaid's wrist and attempts to transition out. He puts his arms around Kincaid's waist and drives a knee into the back of his thigh, the Bullet King releases the hold and Edwards tries for a choke sleeper but Kincaid defends it well. Edwards instead grabs his head and tries to pull him over with the inverted headlock, or the saka otoshi but Kincaid lands on his feet and dropkicks Edwards' knee! SAM HEWITT A devastating dropkick to the knee by Alex Kincaid! CHAD GOMEZ It's got to be awesome to have a guy with a target on his limb that fits your usual repertoire. Those dropkicks, the crab hold, the dragon screw... all great moves that Kincaid utilizes a lot. All great moves that can easily exploit the leg that AJ Knight started on two weeks ago. Edwards rolls toward the ropes after the dropkick, buying himself some time. Kincaid gets up and heads back to his corner, his wife telling him he's doing great. Pulver walks over to Edwards and asks him how he's feeling. Whatever Edwards says makes Pulver chuckle, but the Swede pats him on the chest and tells him to get up because he's got this. Edwards rolls back in and starts up to his feet. Kincaid keeps his distance at Garner's request. Edwards nods that he's ready to go again and the two start circling before advancing toward one another. Edwards cracks Kincaid with an elbow to the face! The Bullet King stumbles! Edwards pushes him back into the ropes and begins to shoot him off, but it gets reversed. Edwards comes roaring back, limping as he does - Kincaid's lariat is ducked! ABDOMINAL STRETCH! SAM HEWITT Shades of the great Johnny Weaver! He's got it in tight, but the key to this hold is tucking your foot behind your opponent's ankle. That allows you maximum torque in the application and could result in a very quick submission. CHAD GOMEZ Absolutely! It's not quite a twister, but tucking the foot behind the ankle allows you to really crank on the upper half while pushing the leg forward. Very unnatural, very painful. Edwards seems to know the key to this hold, Pulver reminds him though. Kincaid keeps his hand close to that area and as Edwards tries to finish the hold, the Bullet King grabs the foot and prevents it from happening. He is then able to hip toss Edwards to the mat and break free of the dreaded abdominal stretch. EDWARDS GRABS A HEEL HOOK! Kincaid yells and dives for the bottom rope, Garner begins the five count for Edwards to break and he lets go at two. Kincaid rolls to the ropes as Edwards gets up, Pulver slaps the mat in appreciation of the flash submission attempt and shouts further encouragement. Kincaid gets up and stretches out a bit, Edwards grows a bit impatient and tells him to quit pissing around. Kincaid laughs and pops him with an elbow smash, Edwards returns the favour... and the trade begins! Kincaid! Edwards! Kincaid! Edwards! Kincaid! Edwards! Kincaid stumbles back against the turnbuckles and Edwards unleashes a kick to the chest that fells Kincaid, knocking him down to a seated position. Pulver yells NOW and Edwards hurriedly backs up with a hobble, he charges forward... KINCAID USES THE ROPES TO HOIST HIMSELF UP AND DROPKICKS EDWARDS IN THE LEG AGAIN! Edwards goes down clutching the leg as Kincaid gets up. Kincaid takes a moment to circle around the inside of the ring, catching his breath and regaining his composure after those elbows. Edwards begins getting up, Kincaid grabs the leg and looks to be trying for the dragon screw but speaking of elbows... one catches Kincaid in the mush! He groans from the shot, the crowd oohs as the sound echoes throughout the venue. Against better judgment, Edwards goes for a kick with his bad leg... Kincaid absorbs the shot and catches the leg! DRAGON SCREW! Edwards hits the mat with a slew of curses being muttered as he grabs his leg in pain. SAM HEWITT And the systematic destruction of James Edwards' leg continues! Kincaid grabs Edwards up and strikes him with an elbow, but the Burning Heart stares back at his foe with little regard for the strike. Kincaid does it again, Edwards grimaces but stands back up. Kincaid fires a third shot, Edwards ducks. He turns around... ABISEGIRI! The Pole Shift connects! Edwards rolls away, unable to follow up because he's clutching his leg. Kincaid is grabbing his head and shoulder in pain but looks less affected than the man who hit the move. Edwards fights through the pain and gets up, grabbing a front waist hold on Kincaid... he tucks his own head in and snaps off a Northern lights suplex! He's unable to bridge so opts for a more traditional pin. 1... ... 2... KICK OUT! Edwards grabs a choke sleeper on Kincaid as he sits up, but the Bullet King backs him up into the corner to break free. Kincaid turns around, looking for a European uppercut but Edwards ducks and turns! He goes for a kick! KINCAID CATCHES IT! The Bullet King tries for a dragon screw again, but Edwards hoofs him with another elbow! Kincaid falls back into the corner and Edwards topples to the mat himself. Garner checks both men out and then begins his ten count. 1... 2... 3... 4... Edwards begins crawling to his feet. 5... Kincaid sits up, rolls onto his knees. Edwards hits the ropes... VIOLENT GOSP-NO! Kincaid grabs the leg! He clutches it as he climbs back up to his feet, but instead of a dragon screw - Kincaid dropkicks the standing leg! Edwards teeters over in pain, holding his other leg now. Kincaid rolls over, grabs the original target leg at the ankle and snaps off a dragon screw! He gets right back up and picks up the legs for the Boston crab. The Straight Shooter is looking like it's going to happen here in Detroit! Kincaid tries to turn him over, but Edwards fights it. Kincaid kicks the leg and tries again, succeeding this time. With a very high angled variation applied, Edwards has limited movement. SAM HEWITT Don't adjust your TVs or monitors, that crab hold is every bit as painful as it looks. Kincaid has Edwards folded up almost entirely, nearly sitting on his shoulder blades. Never one to quit, Edwards keeps fighting. Dragging himself as best he can toward the ropes, Kincaid tries to maintain his balance but cannot - and this allows Edwards to grasp the bottom rope, but the hold has already been released. Kincaid drags Edwards up and hoists him into the air, folding his leg at the knee... dropping it across his own! The shin breaker! Edwards groans in pain as Kincaid exits to the apron, climbing the ropes. Edwards sees what's going on and rolls toward the corner, Kincaid steps down to the inside and drops to the mat. He grabs Edwards up and scoops him up onto his shoulders, Edwards squirms out... BACK FIST! Kincaid is wobbled! A SECOND ONE! The Double Tap succeeds, Edwards crumbles to the mat and Kincaid timbers after him. Edwards considers the pin, but Pulver tells him to take his time! Garner begins the knockout count for both men. 1... 2... 3... 4... 5... 6... 7... Kincaid rolls over and grabs Edwards as he's climbing up to his feet, Garner stops the count. Kincaid sinks both his arms around Edwards' waist... looking for the Llewellyn Lift. Edwards blocks it with his foot and turns around with a spinning flying knee! Kincaid falls back against the ropes, Edwards goes down clutching his leg. He gets right back up though, limping through all of his pain as he grabs Kincaid and hooks him up for the Fisherman Brainbuster that he calls the Foxfire! He lifts... HIS LEGS GIVE OUT! Kincaid lands on top! 1... ... 2... ... 3-NO! ONLY TWO! Pulver drops his head to the apron and looks up, breathing a sigh of relief that it was only two. Kincaid checks with Garner who assures him, only two. The Bullet King grabs Edwards and brings him up to his feet... SHORT ARM LARIAT! Edwards crumples, but Kincaid keeps a hold of the arm and yanks him back up! He scoops him onto his shoulders... goes to spin him out for the cutter portion of the Finishing Touch, but Edwards slips out and clamps on the choke sleeper! Once more, Kincaid bulls the smaller Edwards back into the corner! Kincaid falls to his knees, Edwards hoists himself onto the second rope and waits... DIVING LARIAT! He catches Kincaid but Edwards hits the mat hard on his two bad legs. Kincaid recovers, clamps on a rear waist hold... he pulls Edwards to his feet... he tries to lift, Edwards blocks. He goes for a back elbow smash, but Kincaid ducks and kicks the leg! Edwards pretty much falls onto him and Kincaid hits a quick, nasty cutter for the Finishing Touch! 1... ... 2... ... 3! The place pops! Kincaid lays on the mat, getting his arm raised. Edwards rolls over to the corner where he sits and shakes his head, Pulver climbs into the ring and pats him on the back. Pulver exits the ring, helping Edwards out and the two head up the aisle to the back. Pulver pushing media members out of the way politely. Kincaid sits up, a bit teary eyed. His wife, Alyssa stands in the ring and upon locking eyes, she embraces him. Kincaid gets up and lifts her into the air. Mandeville Nelson steps into the ring, gets handed the trophy and sets it down next to the couple. He accepts the belt from a stage hand and wraps it around Kincaid's waist. The Bullet King raises his arms in victory as the Detroit crowd applauds him. SAM HEWITT What began in August in the Iron Road... an unfortunate doctor stoppage, led to concussion fears. He asked for his release and was granted it, but came back a few months later in an attempt to prove that he still belonged in this sport. The road was not kind to him, but he persevered. A win over Derek Draven in the first round, a submission win over Matt Pulver in the semi final round and a pinfall over James Edwards in the finals. Alex Kincaid has found his redemption in the form of the Heritage Cup and the Heritage Heavyweight title!
CHAD GOMEZ Maybe this thing is cursed, Sambo. Two years in a row now the champion has lost his title in the final.
SAM HEWITT Hey, it's an incredibly difficult task. The fact that Edwards was willing to defend it in all three rounds speaks volumes to the type of fighter that young man is, the fact that he made it to the finals after one of the most gruelling defense schedules of any champion in Lion's Road history shows you that the Burning Heart moniker is no joke. Fans, we've run out of time! I hope you'll join us again in two weeks time! In the meantime, for Chad Gomez, I'm Sam Hewitt - we'll see you then!
Kincaid proudly hoists the trophy up in the air as the show closes.
