PWGP "CHARGE" is coming live to you from Taco Bell Arena in Boise, Idaho. The crowd is electric as we're welcomed by our announce team of Greg Stradford and "Big Bad" Paul Carlyle. They quickly go down tonight's card, including an eight-man tag team match, a six-man tag team match featuring Kraken and Brutus Smith, Faititili going one-on-one with BOB, and in the main event, PWGP Television Champion, True North Ant defending in a fatal four way against Bryant Adam Thompson, Vlars and Alan Hunter. First though we have a special opening contest. Greg and Paul send it over to Nick Christoulos for the introductions for the opening contest.
MATCH 1
Eli Buchanan (PWGP Global Champion)
vs
Moondog Buster (0 points) w/ The Guru and Moondog Runt
(Referee: Mark Lindsey)
This is the first match we've seen Eli Buchanan in since his first title defense three weeks ago. Greg Stradford informs us he's just learned from Buck U Athletic Commision Spokesman Robert Fredrick that a non title victory over the champion would give Moondog Buster five points towards a PWGP Global Title match. It's clear from the way The Guru is speaking to his client, that he's heard this news as well.
It's clear right off the opening bell what The Guru's game plan is, as Runt jumps up on the apron to catch Eli's attention. Buster takes the opportunity to attack him from behind, but Eli dodges out of the way and Buster crashes into his partner, sending Runt to the arena floor. The champ immediately capitalizes by catching Buster from behind with a trio of rolling German suplexes. He follows up by dragging the Moondog into the corner and hitting a series of knife-edge chops and hits an overhead belly-to-belly suplex.
The Guru gets up on the apron and starts arguing with the referee, Mark Lindsey. This distraction allows Runt to climb to the top rope and try to leap on Eli Buchanan. The champ catches him in midair and tosses him with a belly-to-belly suplex. Runt's sacrifice has given his partner though as Buster rakes Eli's eyes and finally takes control of the match. Over the next few minutes, Buster simply stomps away at Eli and hits a series of back breakers before going for a pin but Eli manages to kick out at two.
Flustered, Buster turns to his manager and looks for guidance. The Guru tells him to put Eli away. Buster picks Eli up and sets up for a power slam. Eli breaks free and hits a desperation leaping knee that rocks the Moondog and sends him to the mat. Runt tries to interfere again, but Eli hits a Boyame as he tries to climb through the ropes. Buster is back up and swings at Eli, who ducks and bouncing off the ropes, hits a stiff lariat clothesline. Eli immediately follows up with another German suplex. Buster rolls through to his knees and Eli wastes no time hitting a Boyame on him and going for the pin. 1...2...3...!
Winner: Eli Buchanan
Following the match, Eli Buchanan grabs a t-shirt and goes over to the announce table. He asks Stradford and Carlyle if he can join them, stating he wants to get a better look at some of the competition tonight who are looking at getting a shot at his championship down the road. While he's being given a headset and set up, we go to the back.

In the Asper Army locker room, we find Saul Asper talking to two people off camera, informing them that this is their big break and as long as they listen to him and follow Kraken's lead they'll do great. Asper acts like he can't remember their names and as the camera turns to Jeremy Squires and Paulie Rod have to introduce themselves and state they've come here to win the PWGP International Tag Team Titles and they only agreed to this match because they want to make a statement. Asper snickers at this and again tells them they better do as they're told, or else. Kraken arrives to menace them to end the segment and we go to commercial break as Rodd and Squires wonder what they've gotten themselves into.
***
We return from break to find Surf 'n Turf, Vos and Zaros, already in the ring and waiting for their tag team partners to arrive. Out comes The Agents of Pain, along with their manager, Saul Asper. Stradford points out to that their guest commentator, Eli Buchanan, has a connection to Vos and Zaros and Eli admits that he had a hand in training Surf 'n Turf, plus he knows the Agents far too well. The Agents come over to the table and start to jaw with Eli before entering the ring and talking strategy with Surf 'n Turf.
"High Five" Jimmy Jive and his son, James Daniels come out and we go to a prerecorded video on the upper right hand of the screen. Daniels admits that they got off to a bad start last week and tries to blame it on his father, who tells him to get his head out of his ass and start working as a team player because otherwise they'll get defeated again, before walking off to end the video. On the way to the ring, Daniels talks smack with some of the fans, while Jive just shakes his head. Carlyle blames Jive for Daniels being so disrespectful and states that if he had been a better father maybe they would be a more cohesive team.
The East K Connection come out last and immediately start conferring with Jive. James Daniels doesn't want any part of it at first, but Jive pulls him into he into the huddle. The commentators put over that this match is a showcase of four of the teams competing in the PWGP International Tag Team Title Tournament, that begins next week and guest commentator, Eli Buchanan, believes that anyone of these four teams have a great chance of becoming winning the whole tournament.
MATCH 2
The East K Connection (Sweet Daddy D & Easy E), Jimmy Jive & James Daniels
vs
The Agents of Pain (Agents B & D w/ Saul Asper) & Surf 'n Turf (Vos and Zaros)
(Referee: Andrew Roller)
In the early goings of the match it was clear that unlike his father, James Daniels was not interested in working with Sweet Daddy E and Easy E. Meanwhile, Surf ‘n Turf were very willing to follow the lead of the Agents of Pain. The match would go back and forth for the first few minutes, often with Jive or on of the members of the East K Connection gaining control, only for Daniels to tag himself in to take advantage of the situation and hog the spotlight. Much like last week, these antics cost him and would lead to the villain team taking control for the better part of the match and keep Daniels in their corner while they made frequent tags and wore the youn rookie down.
The tide would turn after Daniels made a tag to his father while the Vod and Zaros distracted Andrew Roller. Roller would try to get Jive out of the ring, believing no legal tag was made, but Jive was having none of it and went after the Agents of Pain, who were continuing to beat on his son. This led to the East K Connection coming in to support him and a brawl broke out between everyone in the match. Sweet Daddy D and Easy E would dispose of Surf ‘n Turf with a pair of super kicks, only to be tossed out of the ring by the Agents of Pain. The Agents would turn their attention back to James Daniels, only for Jive to stop them from hitting him with the Flap Jack and tumbling out of the ring with Agent B. When Agent D went to finish off Daniels, he was caught off gaurd with a small package and pinned 1...2…3…!
Winners: The East K Connection, “High Five” Jimmy Jive and James Edwards
Following the pinfall, Daniels would quickly roll out of the ring and join his father and EKC on the ramp. All three members of this week’s announce table put over how huge an upset the fall was, with Paul Carlyle pointing out that Daniels just pinned one half of the team which was the favourite to win the tag team tournament. Surf ‘n Turf escape through the crowd, to prevent being attacked by the fuming Agents of Pain. We take one last look at the winning team, as they celebrate on the entrance ramp, before going to break.

We return and find ourselves in Robert Fredrick’s office. A fat man, wearing an open Hawaiian shirt comes in with Brutus Smith and the Unknowns and formally introduces himself as Tony Columbo, Brute’s spokesman. When Deedee Gagnon asks why Brute needs a spokesman, Tony points out that not everyone understands the masked giant since he speaks French with a strong Newfoundlander accent.
Fredrick states he understands Brute perfectly well but understands that this might be an issue. He wishes Brute and the Unknowns the best of luck in their match. After they leave, Deedee asks how Robert Fredrick can understand the masked giant, he only ever says “I am Brute”, and Fredrick replies that he’s made it a point never to argue with a giant, regardless of whether he understands them or not.
***
Back at ringside, Eli points out that he’s very familiar with Brute’s dialect, but points out it took him years to learn it. Both him and Paul Carlyle are familiar with Tony Columbo, with “Big Bad” Paul calling him a shyster who he trusts about as far as he could throw.
The conversation changes quickly as the next match is about to begin. The Guru comes out with BOB in toe. He stops at the announce table to tell Eli to watch carefully what happens because once BOB is done with Faititili, he’ll be coming after the Global Title.
Faititili is out next and he’s changed up his look a little bit, donning traditional Samoan war paint. He rushes the ring and goes right after BOB and Jose Doe calls for the opening bell.
MATCH 3
Faititili
vs
BOB (w/ The Guru)
(Referee: Jose Doe)
The match never really gets a real chance to start, as the two combatants start brawling. BOB is taken back by Faititili’s ferociousness at first. He weathers the storm and is finally able to grab his smaller opponent by the hair and hit him with a headbutt, but the blow doesn’t seem to faze the Samoan warrior on bit, who fires back with a headbutt of his own. BOB would stumble backwards, but nearly take Faititili’s head off seconds later with a kick.
Doe would try to keep BOB at bay while he checked on Faititili, but BON would shove him aside. Faititili would catch him with a second headbutt under the chin, that would cause BOB to tumble out of the ring. The Samoan would continue to bring the fight to BOB as he got up, catching him with a plancha from the top rope. The brawl would continue between them while Doe made counted them both out and neither man made any effort to return to the ring before the ten count.
NO CONTEST
The fight would continue long after the bell was rung. Security and wrestlers came running out to break the two up. At one point BOB would pick Faititili up and toss him on top of a group of wrestlers, only for the former Television Champion to get back up and rolling back into the ring, leap right over a group of wrestler and security at ringside, to get at BOB.
Finally Robert Fredrick himself would come out, as the security and wrestlers finally broke the two to them up. He announced that he could not allow action like this to continue, for the safety of the fans at ringside. He wanted the action to remain inside the ring and since these two seemed incapable of doing this, he would have to step in. In two weeks time, these two would off in a lumberjack match, with the winner earning a Television Title match down the road. Until then, they were both banned from PWGP events until their match, and orders both of them out of Taco Bell Arena.
We go to break with the security and wrestlers still trying their hardest to keep the two of them apart.
***
Back from break, we find Jimmy Jive and James Daniels getting ready to leave the arena. The East K Connection quickly come in and congratulate Daniels again on picking up the win, and suggest maybe it will be their two teams meeting in the tournament finals down the road. Daniels acts smug about the win, but EKC chose to ignore his arogant remarks and take their leave. Jive is clearly unhappy with the way his son is acting but he tells Daniels that he’s proud of him for winning tonight, which seems to catch his son off guards. The two leave to celbrate their victory and seem to be getting along finally.
***
Back at ringside, we find the two teams for the next match are already at ringside, ready to compete.
MATCH 4
Brutus Smith (w/ Tony Columbo) and The Unknowns 1 & 2
vs
Kraken (w/ Saul Asper), Jeremy Squire and Paulie Rod
(Referee: Andrew Roller)
There was an interesting dynamic in this match, as everytime Brute would get into the ring, Saul Asper would have Kraken tag out to Squire or Rod, only to demand to be tagged back in once one of the Unknowns were in the ring. A large portion of the match saw Brute and Kraken beating on the smaller members of each other’s team, but Rod and Squire were able to show a bit of their potential as a team, which lead the announcers to believe they might fair well in the tournament if Brute didn’t crush them first.
The end came when the Agents of Pain rushed down to ringside to distract Brute after he had laid out Squires and Rod with a double chokeslam. This allowed Kraken to pin one of the Unknowns with a powerbomb on the other Unknown and pin them both.
Winners: Kraken, Jeremy Squire and Paulie Rod
Following the match, it appeared that Kraken and the Agents were getting ready to attack Brute. Eli stood up and was about to go to his friend’s aide when the lights in the arena went out. When they came back on, two smaller versions of Brute were standing in the ring with him, although “smaller” might be an overstatement, as both of them were still rather large. Kraken and the Agents thought twice about tangling with this trio.
As Asper’s Army retreated, Eli Buchanan would tell us he knew who these two are and if Tony Columbo had anything to do with it, it was an absolute brilliant move. The larger of the two was El Hijo del Brute and the smaller one was Brutcito and he referred the two of them as the Brute Squad. Tony would pose with all three of them at ringside while the announcers put over that if the Brute Squad was entered into the tournament there might be a new favourite to become the inaugural International Tag Team Champions.
We go to break as Saul Asper looks on this group with some concern from the top of the apron.
***
We return to find Nick Christoulos announcing that the next match is our main event and is for the PWGP Television Championship.
The first to come out for the match is Vlars. It’s pointed out that despite losing in the Television Championship match last week, Fredrick granted him this opportunity because of how the match ended. We’re shown a replay of special referee, Alan Hunter, first hitting Vlars with a super kick following a dispute between the two of them, then hitting TV Champ, True North Ant with a super kick as well, causing him to fall on Vlars and Hunter counting the fall. Carlyle called what happened an absolute travesty, saying Hunter had ruined a mat classic with his antics.
The next to come out was Alan Hunter himself. Carlyle is very vocal that he doesn’t believe Hunter should even be in this match, which Eli Buchanan agrees with, despite his friendship with Hunter. It’s pointed out he was pinned in a fatal fourway match last week to determine the number one contender for the Television Championship and if it wasn’t for the next man coming out requesting this match be a fatal four way, he would be on the outside, looking in.
This would lead to the actual number one contender to the PWGP Television Championship coming out, Bryant Adam Thompson. We see a replay of Robert Fredrick had asking him if he was willing to let Vlars be in this match after what had transpired in last week’s main event and the Notorious B.A.T. offering to let both Vlars and Hunter be in this match, wanting to prove that beyond a shadow of a doubt that he’s the best. Buchanan says he admires his spirit, but he wonders if Bryant chewed off more than he could swallow here.
Last to come out is the champion, True North Ant, who has surprised everyone with how far he's come over the last few weeks. Not only did he win the tournament to crown a new Television Champion three weeks ago, he would go on to successfully defend the title over the last two weeks, albeit in controversial fashion. Paul Carlyle starts off saying this is unfair to the champ, having to defend the title against three men instead of one, but Greg Stradford informs us he has just learned that if TNA can eliminate all three other competitors himself, that will give him the ten points he needs to challenge their special guest commentator, Eli Buchanan, for the PWGP Global Championship down the road, should he so wish.
Carlyle tells Asper and TNA that as they pass by and the two of them jaw with Buchanan at the announce table, while Greg Stradford tells us we need to go to a commercial break.
***
Before the match begins, we find Asper and TNA demanding that Jose Doe not be allowed to officiate this match. Robert Fredrick would appear on the big screen and state that the board has looked over Asper’s request to prevent Doe to officiate an matches involving his client and have rejected it. Therefore Jose Doe WILL be the referee in the main event tonight.
MAIN EVENT
MATCH 5
Television Title Match
True North Ant (champion, 6 points, w/ Saul Asper)
vs
Bryant Adam Thompson (2 points)
vs
Vlars (1 point)
vs
Alan Hunter (0 points)
(Referee: Jose Doe)
Nick Christoulos makes the formal introductions and quickly gets out of the way so the match can begin. The action starts off very similar to a tornado tag team match, as Hunter and Bryant, frequent partners in the past, work together against True North Ant and Vlars. We are reminded again that in a PWGP fatal fourway match, the three other competitors in the match must be eliminated to win and only the winner gets to keep their points from the match. If winning the Television Championship is a more important goal than earning the maximum number of points, then it seems a good game plan to work together to eliminate some of your other opponents. This would seem to be the motive in the early goings of the match as Hunter breaks up a pin attempt of Thompson by Vlars.
As the match progress though, things between Alan Hunter and Vlars get overheated and the action spills to the outside. Jose Doe ordered them to return to the ring, but both men continued to fight. Vlars would grab his bucket and Hunter would grab a chair, which they swung at one another. Doe would immediately disqualify both of them, as they continued to use their weapons at ringside to fight and for a second time tonight, security had to come down to ringside to break a fight up.
Eliminated: Vlars and Alan Hunter (both disqualified)
While the fight is being broken up, we’re told we will be going to one last commercial break.
***
Back from break we find that True North Ant is in firm control of the match, smothering Thompson in the middle of the ring with a rear headlock on the mat. We’re told that because Hunter and Vlars were both disqualified at the same time, the winner between TNA and B.A.T. would not only be PWGP Television Champion, but depending on who won, if TNA did he would receive 4 points and if Thompson did he would receive three.
It’s obvious that True North Ant knows this, as he seems more urgent to win the match tonight than he has during his previous title defences. He attempts to use the headlock to secure a series of pinfalls, but only gets a near fall each time. He changes his tactics and begins using some of his stronger arsenal, getting near falls with a lariat clothesline and a Manitoba Stampede. Out of sheer frustration, and noting that if the time limit runs out he won’t get the four points, True North Ant goes to the top rope and tries to hit a splash. Thompson is however able to get out of the way and TNA crashes to the mat.
With both men down, Jose Doe begins the count. The announcers point out that a double knock out would lead to a draw. True North Ant would retain the title, but neither man would gain the four points they were both hungry to earn.
True North Ant and Thompson both get to their feet at the same time. TNA tries to hit a lariat but Thompson bucked and hit a Pelee kick that rocked the champion, following up with a huricanrana. Thompson would begin to build momentum with a series of kicks and ranas. TNA would try to escape to the outside, only to get hit with a plancha from Thompson. He would roll the champion back into the ring and try for the Bat Outta Hell, but Asper would hop on to the apron to distract him, allowing for True North Ant to drop Bryant throat first across the top rope.
Eli Buchanan would leave the announce table and pull Asper off the apron. Terrified, Asper would back away from ringside while Eli kept him at bay and the action continued in the ring.
True North Ant pointed at Eli that he was coming for the Global Championship. He lifted Thompson up for the Red River Plunge, but Thompson countered with a rana that dropped the champ right on top of his head. Wasting no further time, Thompson hit Bat Outta Hell and picked up the pinfall victory.
Winner:... and new PWGP Television Champion, Bryant Adam Thompson (5 points)
As we go off the air we see Bryant Adam Thompson celebrating with his newly won championship. Eli Buchanan applauds at ringside and offers the new Television Champion a thumbs up before leaving. Meanwhile, True North Ant and Saul Asper are arguing with Jose Doe, claiming Buchanan interfered in the match, but the referee ignores their complaints. He raises Thompson’s hand one last time before our program fades to black.
So, in the meantime and in between time… Good night, God bless and may the Force be with you.
