The Saskatoon crowd is absolutely buzzing in SaskTel Centre as we’re welcomed to PWGP “CHARGE” by our commentary team of Greg Stradford and “Big Bad” Paul Carlyle. They remind us that we have a loaded program tonight, with two more qualifying matches in the PWGP International Tag Team Tournament, as well as the first bout and the best of five series between Alan Hunter and Vlars, a lumberjack match between former Television Champion, Faititili, and BOB, and in the main event, “The Last Dragon” Eli Buchanan makes his second defence as PWGP Global Champion as he faces the former two-time Television Champion, True North Ant.
Before all that though, Greg Stradford tells us that due to time constraints, two when more matches that were to be on tonight’s program had to be held before the show came on the air. Highlights are shown of Kraken in action against two local talent, utterly destroying them with a pair of leg trap chokeslams, piling on on top of the other to pin both at the same time. We are then shown Brutus Smith in action against three other local talent, having fun of at their expense and making short work of them, pinning the first two with chokeslams and the third was made to submit to Brute’s devastating claw hold. With these results, Kraken now sits with eight points, only two shy of earning enough to challenge for the Global Title, and Brute has five. We’re told in two weeks time these two behemoths will face off one-on-one in a singles that will prove to be very interesting.
Stradford and Carlyle send it down to the ring announcer, Nick Christoulos for the introductions to the opening match.
MATCH 1
Best of Five Series
Alan Hunter (0 wins)
vs
Vlars
(Referee: Andrew Roller)
Following the introductions, we are reminded by our announcers that the winner of this best of five series will be awarded five points and given a non-title match with whoever is the Global Champion at that time. A win in that non-title match would give them another five points and a Global Title shot. Carlyle states in his opinion it should be important to both these men to win tonight and gain some much needed momentum heading into the rest of the series.
Hunter and Vlars waste no time going after one another right at the opening bell. The action spills out of the ring and it’s pointed out by Stradford that Vlars has left his mop and bucket in the back, clearly indicating he’s taking the threat of forfeiting the series and being suspended very seriously.
The two fight around the ring, but eventually get back in to prevent a double count-out. Vlars would gain control of the match after using Andrew Roller as a human shield, allowing him to give Hunter a cheap shot while Aln was trying to get the referee out of the way. The self proclaimed “God of the Puke Bucket” would spend the next few minutes working over Alan Hunter’s neck. He would score a two count with a shoulder breaker but Hunter would continue to fight through the pain. Vlars would then try to put him away with a “Tower of London” variation on his Puke Bucket Stunner, only for Alan to counter by school boying him, causing the back of his head to hit the bottom turnbuckle. A stunned Vlars would then fall victim to a small package out of nowhere to allow Alan Hunter to pick up the three count and the win in the first match of their best of five series.
Winner: Alan Hunter (1 win in the series)
A shocked Vlars could only sit in the middle of the ring while Alan Hunter celebrated on the entrance ramp, slapping hands with the fans. He could only point his finger at him and vow things would be different next week, when they met in matc two.

In his office we find Robert Fredrick, the spokesman for BUAC, watching the monitor with his assistant, Deedee Gagnon. He smiled and told her that he was satisfied with what we saw from Hunter and Vlars tonight and states he cannot wait to see where the series goes from here.
The Guru enters by himself and asks why Fredrick wanted to see him. Robert Fredrick thanks him for not bringing BOB with him and informs him that because True North Ant had to forfeit the Television Championship last week, they require a new champion. Because there simply isn’t time to put on tournament this week with the International Tag Team Tournament already in full swing, the BUAC has decided tonight’s lumberjack match between Faititili and BOB will determine who the new champion will be. He goes on to say he has already told Faititili the news and tells him to go get his man ready, but warns him no fans better get hurt tonight. The Guru swears the only people who will get hurt are those who get between BOB and the Television Title and excitedly runs off, leaving Fredrick to sigh and tell Deedee he hopes the BUAC doesn’t come to regret this decision.

Back from break we find Nick Christoulos beginning the introductions for the first of tonight’s two International Tag Team Title Tournament matches.
MATCH 2
PWGP International Tag Team Title Tournament Opening Round
The East K Connection (Sweet Daddy D and Easy E)
vs
Paulie Rod and Jeremy Squire
(Referee: Jose Doe)
Easy E starts off with Paulie Rod, who doesn’t appear to take the masked man very serious until Easy E nearly arm drags him out of his boots. Rodd would scramble to his feet but would get arm dragged three more times before rolling to the safety of his corner and tagging in Squire. Jeremy Squire would point at Sweet Daddy D, who would be tagged in. The two would lock up and Squire would back the Sweetener into the corner, but when he tried to take a cheap shot, Sweet Daddy D ducked under and gave him a shot of his own and a hip toss for his troubles. Rod would rush in but to help his partner but would get caught off by Easy E with a hip toss.
The East K Connection would toss their opponents out of the ring. Rod and Squire would try to regain their composure on the arena floor. Meanwhile Sweet Daddy D would pull down the top rope down, allowing his partner to fly over it and hit both men on the floor with a plancha. Easy E would throw Squire back in the ring and his partner would tag him back in, bu a thumb to the eye by Squire would turn the tide in his team’s favour.
The next few minutes saw would see Squire and Rod work over the masked man from the “Seventh Moon of Thunder”. They would make frequent tags and go for several pin attempts but Easy E would not stay down. It would be a miscue between the Squire and Rod that would lead to the tide turning once more. Squire would try to hit a spear while Rod held Easy E, but the masked man managed to get out of the way and Rod ate the spear instead and while the two of them were sorting themselves out, Easy E made the tag to Sweet Daddy D.
Sweet Daddy D would clean house with a series of clotheslines on both Rod and Squire, before taking them both down with reverse atomic drops. He would unload a superkick on Rod for a near fall, but Squire would break up the pin. This lead to Easy E coming in and take Squire down with a yakuza kick. The East K Connection would hit a double superkick to put Squire down for good. Easy E would hit a pendulum backbreaker and hold him in place while Sweet Daddy D climbed to the top rope of hit a flying elbow drop completing the combo they call Sweet Decapitation. The Sweetner would pin Rod for the three count while his partner stood guard.
Winners: and advancing to the quarterfinals, The East K Connection.
As the East Connection celebrate in the ring, we’re reminded that they’ll face the Demon Brigade in the quarterfinals, something neither of the announcers envy for our winners in this match.

We return to find the participants for the next match in the International Tag Team Tournament in the ring and Nick Christoulos making the introductions.
MATCH 3
PWGP International Tag Team Title Tournament Opening Round
The Agents of Pain (Agents B & D, w/ Saul Asper)
vs
Lynx and Asterio
(Referee: Mark Lindsey)
The Agents of Pain immediate attack the two luchadores right from the bell and begin to beat them down. Rookie referee, Mark Lindsey tries his best to control them but to no avail. Lynx is tossed out of the ring and the Agents signal for the Flapjack to put Asterio away.
Bryant Adam Thompson rushes down to ringside and gets into Saul Asper’s face. This distracts the Agents, who toss Asterio aside and start yelling at Thompson to get away from their manager. This distraction allows the luchadores enough time to recover. Lynx dropkicks Agent B out of the ring and Agent D turns around to a pair of superkicks and a hurricanra by Asterio and he hooks both legs for a surprise three count.
Winners: and advancing to the quarterfinals, The East K Connection.
No one is more shocked that they won than Asterio and Lynx, who quickly roll out of the ring before the Agents can get their hands on them and join Bryant Adam Thompson on stage. The Notorious B.A.T. raises their hands in victory, while an irate Saul Asper is having a fit in the ring with his men.
***
Eli Buchanan is smirking at the monitor in his locker room while he finishes wrapping his wrists with tape. Brutus Smith, Tony Columbo and the Brute Squad come in to wish him luck tonight against True North Ant in the main event. Tony offers their services to take care of Asper and his Army, but Eli tells them he’s been talking to Robert Fredrick and that might not be necessary, but maybe stick around just in case. Before they go, Eli wishes the Brute Squad good luck next week, as they have their International Tag Team Title Tournament opening round match and hopes to get a chance to team with them at some point. Brute has to drag Tony out of Eli’s locker room as he tries to sign the Global Champion to a contract and Eli just shakes his head and laughs.
***
Saul Asper and the Agents of Pain burst into Robert Fredrick’s office and demand that he do something about Bryant Adam Thompson after how he cost them their match in the tournament against a couple of “third rate masked midgets”. Robert says nothing he could think of would make for a better punishment for Thompson’s actions than getting his guaranteed rematch at the Television Title next week against the winner tonight between BOB and Faititili. Asper and his men are clearly confused by this statement and Robert tell them they should know what he’s talking about and shows them security footage of the Agents attack Thompson just moments before his scheduled Television Title defense against True North Ant last week. Asper denies that his men had anything to do with that attack and accuses the footage of being altered. Robert Fredrick responds that they both know it’s very real. Thompson will get his shot next week to regain the championship he never lost, but the BUAC has ruled that if True North Ant is unable to defeat Eli Buchanan for the Global Title tonight, he will not get his opportunity to get the Television Title back because of what the Agents did. What’s more, all the members of Asper’s Army are banned from the building tonight because of that attack and the three are immediately escorted out of Robert Fredrick’s office by security, who we see have already round up Kraken and Brody, thanks to help from the Brute Squad.
True North Ant can do nothing but stand in the back and watch his brethren be removed from the building. He yells to them not to worry, he’s got this and reminds a smug Robert Fredrick, who has walked up to him, that he won the Television Championship on his own and he’ll do the same tonight. Robert Fredrick wishes him luck and tells him he’s going to need it, before walking back to his office, leaving TNA looking a bit concerned.

All the member of the roster in attendance, other than the members of Asper\s Army, start making their way down to the ring and Nick Christoulos informs us that it’s time for the next match.
MATCH 4
Lumberjack Match for the Vacant Television Championship
BOB (0 points, w/ The Guru)
vs
Faititili (0 points)
(Referee: Andrew Roller)
We’re reminded by the announcers that the main reason this match was made was not only to keep the wrestlers in the ring, but to keep BOB from tossing his smaller opponent into the crowd. The match started off with Faititilil throwing everything against the wild man, but BOB seemed impervious to it all, tossing him aside.
It didn’t take long for the green-faced fiend from Parts Unknown to toss Faititili out of the ring, but he was caught by Alan Hunter and the East K Connection and the Samoan Warrior was body surfed by his friends around to the other side of the ring and up on to the apron, unhurt. This confused the wild man, who immediately charged and went tumbling to the arena floor when Faititili pulled down the bottom rope and several competitors, including Things Uno and Dos, got in a few shots before rolling BOB back into the ring. The attack did nothing to slow BOB down, only making him angrier and he tried to take that out on Faititili, who once again managed to avoid the big man by pulling down on the top rope and send him tumbling in amongst hiws G3 brethren and a few others. These men gave BOB a wide berth to get up and made no effort to get him back in the ring, with Carlyle quipping this was probably because none of them wanted to have one of their fingers bit off.
The Guru tried to get BOB back into the ring, but he honestly appeared confused by what was happening and started attack his own lumberjacks. Faititili would take this opportunity to climb to the top rope and hit a flying cross body but BOB actually caught him and slammed him on the arena floor, before tossing Faititili into the ring to continue the assault. The few minutes saw BOB beat Faititli up with simple clubbing blows and slams. The Guru would encourage him to toss his opponent out of the ring so the lumberjacks could stomp away at him before tossing him back into the ring for more damage from BOB.
Finally though the Faititili’s friends had enough of these antics and they rushed in to help him when he was once again tossed from the ring. A huge fight broke between all the lumberjacks and during the confusion Faititli would capitalize by hitting BOB with a chair shot to back of the head while the referee was distracted trying to deal with the lumberjacks. The chair shot had little effect on BOB and grabbing Faititili, he hit a series of headbutts that managed to rattle his brains and then nearly kicked off his head with a big boot. A big splash later and the three count was academic from there.
Winner: and new Television Champion, BOB (1 point)
Following the match, Faititli was attended to by his friends while the Guru and the Moondogs celebrated BOB becoming the Television Champion. Both announcers were shocked with how much ease it took for BOB to defeat Faititii, considering the caliber of opponents that the former Television Champion had bested in the past and they wondered if anyone was going to take the title away from him before he could accumulated the ten points he needed to earn a Global Title shot.
***
It’s time for the main vent of the evening and Nick Christoulos reminds us it is for the PWGP Global Championship. Out first is True North Ant. We are reminded that he has no Saul Asper in his corner and none of Asper’s Army are here to back him up tonight. Paul Carlyle reminds us this isn’t the first time he will come into a title match with the odds against him, reminding us that he beat Alan Hunter serval weeks ago in the finals of a Television Title Tournament on his own, but as Greg Stradford points out, Alan Hunter was hurt in that match. Eli Buchanan is walking into this match rested and prepared for this match and with his sights on putting TNA down.
The Global Champion is out next and looking extremely focused. Stradford tells us that Buchanan is a bit embarrassed about losing to True North Ant last week and we see highlights of him about to put TNA away, only for Mack Brody to sneak into the ring and attack him, leading to TNA’s victory and we are reminded that was the second time Brody has cost Eli a match, but this time Brody isn’t here and Eli will finally have True North Ant all to himself. Carlyle points out this is Eli’s fault as he didn’t need to compete last week against TNA, that he chose to and that mistake could very well lead to him being defeated in back-to-back weeks by True North Ant and lose the Global Championship.
MAIN EVENT
MATCH 5
Global Title Bout
Eli Buchanan (champion)
vs
True North Ant (challenger)
(Referee: Jose Doe)
As the bell rings, Greg Stradford states he cannot believe that True North Ant of all people has earned his way to a Global Title shot. Reminding us that it wasn’t long ago, in another company that he was apart of a tag team called Strange Brew, a couple of fun loving guys who were just as interested in having a good time as being a success. Carlyle chimes in that once TNA dropped the dead weight of his former partner, Philly Cheese Snake, and signed with Saul Asper he started having a great deal of success.
The two competitors circle each other and True North Ant tries to go for a collar and elbow tie-up but Eli nearly flattens him with a slap and drives a knee into stomach before belly to belly suplexing him into the corner. True North Ant tries to get up but Eli comes rushing in with a running knee and begins raining down with a series of punches until Jose Doe makes him back away. No sooner though does TNA get to his feet, Eli grabs him around the waist and German suplexes him into the middle of the ring.
Greg Stradford compares what we’re seeing here to a mugging, as Eli starts throwing True North Ant around with a series of German and belly to belly suplexes. Carlyle remind us though that we saw very much the same things last week and asks Stradford who one that one, with Stradford having to concede it was True North Ant.
True North Ant grabs onto Jose Doe’s shirt as the crowd starts to boo. Mack Brody comes running through the crowd and sliding into the ring while TNA keeps the referee distracted. Brody tries to catch Eli with a lariat clothesline but Eli ducks and catches Brody with a German suplex. Brody rolls out of the ring and security immediately surround him and drag him away from ringside.
Seeing an opening, True North Ant shoves Jose Doe aside and levels Eli from behind with a lariat clothesline. He picks up the champ and rams him into the ring post before scooping him up and hitting the Manitoba Stampede and going for the cover. Jose Doe refuses to make the count though and when TNA gets in his face Doe reminds him that he put his hands on him, an official. True North Ant shoves him and Doe, having had enough, shoves him right back. TNA tries to take a swing at him, but Eli spins him around and scooping him up hits the Chaos Driver. He’s not done with him though, as he waits for the Ant to get to his knees and hits him with a running Boyame knee strike. Eli rolls TNA over on to his stomach with an arm triangle and transitions through into a Koji Clutch. At this point TNA has no more fight left in him and is forced to tap out quickly.
Winner: and STILL PWGP Global Champion, Eli Buchanan.
As the champion celebrates his second successful title defense here in Saskatoon tonight, the announcers have different takes on the match. Greg Stradford calls this an absolute dominate performance by Eli Buchanan tonight. Paul Carlyle counters that the only reason Buchanan kept the title tonight was because Jose Doe was obviously out to make sure True North Ant didn’t win the championship tonight. Stradford points out that TNA put his hands on Doe three times during the match, which should have gotten hem disqualified and fined, not to mention that Brody came out of nowhere and tried to interfere as well. Carlyle still feels there’s something weird about Jose Doe’s behaviour towards True North Ant and would love to know what it is is, but Stradford cuts him off and tells us we’re out of time. As the credit roll we see Eli continuing to celebrate and one has to wonder who will be the next to step up and get a title shot at the Global Champion.
So in the meantime, and in between time... good night, God bless and may the Force be with you.
