From the Steel City! Hamilton, Ontario! Hello wrestling fans and welcome to Wrestling from the Lion's Road! My name is Sam Hewitt, this is Brian Shelzi and we have some great action for you on today's program. In our main event, Derek Draven will defend the Heritage Heavyweight title against a man who grew up just down the road in Guelph - Eli Buchanan. Also, we have Carl Whitaker battling David Troy and in our opening bout, Hamilton's own Nick Church takes on newcomer Odysseus. We'll have part one of a sit down interview with Teddy Davis ahead of his big match with Julian Cutlass next month in Toronto. So without further adieu, let's head t--

AJ Knight interrupts the proceedings, walking up to the broadcast booth to a mixed reaction. He snatches a microphone off the desk.

AJ KNIGHT
As you know I, as I so often do, ruffled quite a few feathers last week. I pissed off Irvine, and gave him a bloody nose, I slightly annoyed James Edwards, which admittedly is less than I usually annoy him, and I pissed of Matt Pulver. Now one thing I didn't mention in all that is of course that we have a NEW King of the Lions: James Edwards!

The crowd pops loudly for the new champion, AJ grins and nods in approval.

AJ KNIGHT
That's right! Give it up for the new Champion! James I know we have had a rather tumultuous past but I mean it from the bottom of my heart congratulations champ! Now last week I was trying to handle some business with James Edwards before I was rudely interrupted so I would like the chance to finish the conversation we started last week. So James if you would be so kind could you please come out here.

No one emerges but before the wait grows too long, a familiar face joins him the booth.

MATT PULVER
I don't want to do this, but if no one else is going to stand up to this nonsense, I have to.

He takes a very brief moment to collect himself, before staring AJ straight in the eyes with an unyielding, piercing glare.

MATT PULVER
Stop the whole 'I'm happy for you' act, stop being an entitled baby and stop embarrassing yourself. You don't get to ruin Edwards' moment just because you decided you wanted to play 'ace'. The world doesn't revolve you. So please... Get over yourself and get back in line with everyone else.

A mixed reaction for Pulver's verbal takedown of AJ, AJ's smirk fades out and he returns Pulver's piercing glare.

AJ KNIGHT
Who's playing Matt? Certainly not me, I'm not pretending to be the ace I am the ace Matt. Look at the year I've had so far: I had the champ beat in possibly the best Heritage Title match in history, ran a gauntlet and still nearly took down a man using every dirty trick in the book after two physical matches. Not to mention unlike some people, I managed to beat Cutlass on my own.

Matt grits his teeth irritated at AJ Knight for pressing that button tension mounting for the audience, wondering if Pulver's going to swing. AJ notices this reaction and the smirk returns.

AJ KNIGHT
Now let me ask you a question: Who exactly is ahead of me in line? You? I mean look it's hard not to jump ahead of someone in line who's been standing still for a year.

Collective groans rise from the audience as Pulver's gaze grows even angrier.

AJ KNIGHT
You know what this is really about Matt? It's about your frustration, your inadequacies. Do you want to know why you've been standing still this past year, while I've become one the biggest stars in Lion's Road? Because while you're content waiting in line for your turn, I go out and take my turn. It's better to ask forgiveness than permission Matt. You've never understood that.

Pulver clenches his fists and stops his dagger stare through AJ for a moment to look to away, as if to reason with himself. Visibly swallowing his rage, he lets out a chuckle. His eyes are far from laughing though.

MATT PULVER
There's no reasoning with you, is there? There never was.

His mouth goes back to matching the expression of his eyes.

MATT PULVER
You always deflect. Come up with cute retorts and clever little jokes to take attention away from the actual issue. But I can see right through you. You should know that. You and me both know that this is not about me. Yeah, I have frustrations. I have inadequacies. But I don't make them everybody else's problems. You do! If you get insecure about losing a match, or not being good enough, not beating a person, not being the ace - it immediately becomes everyone else's problem. You don't get to turn this around on me just because I actually call you out on your shit.

A mix of groans and ooh's come over the crowd in response to the intensity in Pulver's voice as much as to the rare swear word from him.

MATT PULVER
I called you out on it when we were a team. The exact same thing happened and now we're not a team anymore. I don't know why I expected something different now. You're never gonna learn. So you know what? It's fine. I'm done. I'll just let you keep fooling everyone that you're some kind of good guy. It's none of my business anymore. Just know that all the guys in the back who hate you, don't hate you because they're jealous or evil or whatever. They just see the real you. Something you never wanted to.

He turns around to leave, not letting AJ get a chance to respond to his face.

AJ KNIGHT
Fine Matt! Walk away. That's what you do when you have a problem right? You pretend it's not there and hope it goes away! You want nothing more to do with me? Fine but don't you dare pretend I'm the only reason our friendship fell apart! The issues started with me, but you were the reason they got to this point Matt. I've wanted to hash this shit out for months. But you never had the time for it! Until now that is. When it's a big spectacle for everyone to see! Which one of us is making our problems everyone else's you hypocrite!

With that Matt turns to face AJ slapping the Microphone out of his hand! The two come nose to nose, you can cut the tension with a knife!

Suddenly, a crash and AJ Knight falls to the floor. Behind him with an evil, shit-eating grin, is Justin Seville. He stands over his fallen foe as Knight holds the back of his neck from what apparently was a microphone Seville used to smash him in the back of his head.

Seville looks over to Pulver, there is certainly no love loss between the two former foes. Pulver stares Seville right in the face and…

Turns and walks away!

Seville crouches down

JUSTIN SEVILLE
See that, AJ? You alienate everyone. Its about time you paid for it.

Seville smashes AJ in the face with a few more hammerfists and looks for the arm triangle, but he howls in pain!

BRIAN SHELZI
He bit his ear! He bit his ear, Sammy!

Seville grabs his ear in pain, AJ shoves him off and tries to mount an attack but stage hands keep them apart.

SAM HEWITT
We'll uh... let's throw it to the ring.

Ring announcer Brady Rossen is standing inside the ring with the two participants in our opening match awaiting his introductions.

BRADY ROSSEN
Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to Wrestling from the Lion's Road! Our opening bout is to be fought over a ten minute time limit with one fall, one submission or a knockout to decide the winner! In the blue corner from Piraeus, Greece. He weighs in at two hundred and forty six pounds... ODYSSEUS!

A small smattering of applause for the Greek wrestler.

BRADY ROSSEN
In the red corner from Hamilton, Ontario! He weighs in at two hundred pounds... NICK CHURCH!

You'd expect the Knave to get some cheers being the hometown boy, but based on his comment in his promo - they boo him!

BRADY ROSSEN
Your referee for this bout is Robbie Morris!

Young Robbie Morris calls for the bell, the larger Odysseus lunges at Church who side steps and turns around, the Greek charges again... Church hooks him with a half nelson....

OLYMPIC SLAM!

The crowd gasps as Church hits his signature move with ease but doesn't pin. He gets up and Morris begins the ten count, Church shoves him and grabs Odysseus up off the mat. Morris tries to protest this and tell Church to leave him down for the ten count, but Church shakes his head and drops backwards - driving Odysseus into the mat with a reverse STO. He then transitions beautifully into the Koji Clutch.

SAM HEWITT
And the Quietus is applied! And it'll live up to its name here tonight because Odysseus is already out from the Flyswatter move Church used on him in the opening moments. I don't think this submission or the STO was necessary after that, but it appears he wants to make a statement.

BRIAN SHELZI
Nick Church is a lunatic, Sambo. You think someone would be happy to wrestle in their hometown, but not him - he wants to get out of here as quick as possible.

Contrary to that, Morris calls for the bell on technical submission - Odysseus is plainly out, but Church holds onto the hold for longer than necessary. Morris counts to four and Church releases it, rolling out to the floor. A fan tries to get him to sign his hat and he grabs it and chucks it down. Church smirks at the scene left inside the ring.

BRIAN SHELZI
And I mean lunatic as a compliment - this guy looks like he'll be a force to be reckoned with in Lion's Road. I'd rather have him on my side than against me.

Morris and some stage hands check on the unconscious Odysseus as we go to break.

The cameraman is in full sprint as we come back, AJ Knight is running after Matt Pulver who's turning down a hall. Pulver notices he's being tailed and tries to duck into a room, but AJ kicks the door before it can be closed.

AJ KNIGHT
You mind telling me what the hell that was about? Isn't that exactly what you were pissed about me doing?

Pulver shakes his head and tries to walk past.

MATT PULVER
I'm done with you.

AJ grabs him by the shoulder and spins him around.

AJ KNIGHT
No, you listen to me. I've been called a lot of things: Extremely handsome, a loudmouth, a bit of a dick at times, but I can be proud that unlike you, one thing no one can call me is a hypocrite!

Matt's facial expression grows even more intense as he shoves AJ backwards.

MATT PULVER
Don't open a can you don't want to eat...

AJ smirks at the response.

AJ KNIGHT
Well, I guess I'm not the only one who doesn't want to see their real self, am I Matt?

AJ shoves Matt back!

MATT PULVER
You and I are nothing alike, bud.

Pulver gives AJ a shove... AJ swings! Pulver grabs the arm and clinches up with AJ, backing him into the wall. Pulver looks like he's about to crack when a pair of arms suddenly restrain him, AJ smirks and shoves him backwards as Ben Chrenshaw lets go and steps between the two men. Pulver tries to lunge forward, but James Edwards shows up on scene and dosey-doe's his partner, pinning him up against the wall. Chrenshaw applies a front waist lock on AJ, pinning him against the wall.

AJ KNIGHT
Go ahead - ride his coattails, Matt. You're good at that.

Pulver laughs then holds up three fingers.

MATT PULVER
How many belts have you held here? Here's my number, here's yours.

Pulver forms his hand into a zero. AJ tries to break apart, prompting Pulver to try and do the same. He thrashes and almost breaks Edwards grip, but the Burning Heart slams the Swede hard against the wall.

JAMES EDWARDS
Cool it! Calm down! Isn't that what you're always telling me?

Pulver shoots Edwards a defeated look and sighs.

JAMES EDWARDS
Use the fire to burn them, not you.

Chrenshaw has to readjust his grip on AJ and hits him against the wall again, Edwards glances at the Crippler.

JAMES EDWARDS
You should get your boy under control.

Chrenshaw sneers as AJ renews his vigor to get at the two, but Ben grabs him again. Edwards pulls Pulver out of the room, leaving the Red Army teammates.

BEN CHRENSHAW
Don't worry, ace. We'll get 'em soon.

Chrenshaw pats AJ on the back and lets go, AJ dusts himself off and they head in the opposite direction. A head peeks out a door across the hall, the face wears a smile a mile long...

It's Justin Seville!

Despite holding his ear, he is smugly satisfied with what has transpired, as if this exactly what he wanted to happen.

Ladies and gentlemen, this match is to be fought over a ten minute time limit with one fall, one submission or a knockout to decide the winner! In the blue corner fighting out of Blackwood, New Jersey! He weighs in at two hundred and two pounds... DAVID TROY!

Troy does his wai kru dance to a respectful pop.

BRADY ROSSEN
In the red corner from Beaumont, Texas! He weighs in at two hundred and twenty eight pounds... CARL WHITAKER!

Whitaker raises his arm.

BRADY ROSSEN
Your referee for this bout is Xavier Price!

Price waves to the hard camera and asks both men if they're ready and when they each nod, he calls for the bell. The two circle around and lock-up, Whitaker gains the upper hand and clamps on a side headlock but just uses it to take Troy up and over then down to the mat. Troy kicks his legs up and applies a set of headscissors, but Whitaker pushes the legs and frees himself from the predicament. Both men get back to their feet and slow down again, circling around... a sense of respect in the air. Whitaker goes to lock-up again, but Troy rolls through and pops up - deep arm drag! Whitaker goes down but comes right back up... DEEP ARM DRAG AGAIN! A dizzy Whitaker stumbles to his feet, Troy tries to grab a clinch but Ol' Stonehands pushes him back toward to the ropes and chucks him off. Troy rebounds off the ropes and leaps over Whitaker's attempt to trip him up, springs off the ropes again...

BUT HOLDS ON!

Whitaker crashes to the mat and Troy runs up... basement dropkick! He covers!

1...

...

2-NO!

SAM HEWITT
Excellent ring awareness by the veteran David Troy, halting himself on the ropes causing Whitaker to miss his mark and thus opened up a great opportunity for Troy with that basement dropkick.

Troy grabs Whitaker up off the mat by the arm and wrings it out, he then proceeds to kick it several times as Whitaker struggles to block it. Ol' Stonehands manages to catch the leg and knocks Troy off balance, sending him down to the mat with Whitaker on top - Troy lets go of his arm and Whitaker jumps up and goes for an elbow drop...

TROY MOVES!

Whitaker gets up, holding the arm and Troy arm drags him back down! He holds onto it, laying the arm flat on the mat then driving his knee into it! Whitaker grunts in pain. Troy stands up and drags Whitaker to his feet by the right arm, he then presses forward - backing Ol' Stonehands into the corner. He readjusts his grip on the arm and goes for an Irish whip, but Whitaker reverses and sends Troy into the opposite corner!

TROY LEAPS ONTO THE SECOND ROPE!

HIS REBOUND LEG LARIAT...

MISSES!

Whitaker ducks down and Troy crashes and burns! The former tag team champion gets up slowly, Whitaker sees Troy favouring his own arm and zones in. He grabs Troy's left arm and begins stomping away on it! Referee Xavier Price checks with Troy as Whitaker slaps on an arm lock... Troy tries getting up, but Whitaker drops an elbow down across the shoulder/bicep area. Whitaker transitions into a top wrist lock and Troy's face of agony says it all. He gets up to a knee, then right up on both feet. He pushes Whitaker back into the ropes and Price calls for the break, Whitaker slowly lets go and goes to shove Troy away but "Dynamite" grabs him and whips him into the ropes. On the return, Troy does a beautiful vertical leap...

BUT GETS POWERBOMBED!

God...

SAM HEWITT
David Troy went for the frankensteiner but finds himself on the receiving end of a powerbomb!

BRIAN SHELZI
Watch this replay, Sammy. It's no ordinary powerbomb - Troy gets up and he gets his legs right for the frankensteiner, but as he's falling - Whitaker senses what's going on and shifts his weight, driving Troy head first into the mat with a lot of weight behind it.

SAM HEWITT
Look even closer there... Whitaker bangs his own head on Troy on the impact.

Price checks over both men, Whitaker says he's OK and starts to get up. Price's count reaches six before he grabs the ropes and pulls himself to his feet, Troy finally rolls onto all fours at eight and stands up long enough to break the count. He drops back down to a knee and Whitaker makes his way over and grabs Troy by the head, pulling him to his feet...

TROY ELBOWS HIM!

Whitaker is staggered, Troy shakes his cobwebs out and goes for the spinning back kick known as the Flash Bang, but Whitaker ducks it and grabs Troy! Troy knees himself free and Whitaker falls into the corner... Troy looks out to the crowd and dashes across the ring to the opposing corner then charges across looking for the corner big boot but Whitaker moves! Troy manages to kick the top turnbuckle to try and stop himself, but Whitaker grabs him...

BEAUMONT BUSTER!

The Anderson style spinebuster bounces Troy's head off the mat again, Whitaker grabs the legs and jackknife pins Troy.

...

2...

...

3!

Whitaker rolls off as "Cry for the Bad Man" by Lynyrd Skynyrd begins playing, he gets to his feet and Price raises his arm before going to check on Troy. Whitaker walks over and rests his head and arms on the top rope for a moment, rubbing his head in pain from the bonk on his powerbomb. He turns around and sees Troy sitting up and extends his hand, Troy accepts it and Ol' Stonehands pulls him up to a cheer from the crowd. Whitaker and Troy shake hands before Whitaker exits.

SAM HEWITT
Whitaker looked a bit rocked after the powerbomb where he and Troy smacked heads and Troy certainly looked in bad way after the spinebuster - two big blows to the head put him down for the three.

BRIAN SHELZI
I'm surprised a light breeze doesn't rock Whitaker at this point. For someone who throws such a mean right hand, Alexander Irvine sure exposed him.

SAM HEWITT
Irvine's striking is nothing to gloss over, he's one of the best in Lion's Road. Whitaker is more an all around type and the fact that he fared as well as he did against Irvine speaks volumes about his abilities. Anyway fans, we have to take a break. When we return, I'm told we'll air the interview with Teddy Davis. Don't go away!

"I haven't wrestled since 2009..."

We fade in to a head shot of Teddy Davis, his face and shoulders the only thing visible in the black background.

"...but the more I heard about Cutlass' Farewell Series, the more it got to me."

Davis looks down and chuckles.

"I heard him mention in passing that he'd always wanted to wrestle me and that feeling was mutual, but our timing never matched up. He got real hot in 2007 just as I cooled down, then my neck injury happened. The Ontario scene went to shit and so did my chances of locking up with him."

A frustrated sigh.

"He went down south, I could've easily lobbied for a match... but with the shape I was in because of my neck, I didn't want to be embarrassed. Cutlass would've whooped my ass and I don't think my ego would've been too happy with that. I didn't need to be any more depressed than I was. I kept avoiding surgery, I fought in any low-rent place that would clear me. And guess what? I fucked my neck up worse."

Davis smirks at his own stupidity.

"So January 2010, I called it a career... I got the surgery I sorely needed and I lived like a hermit for a couple years. 2012 rolls around, I started training like a motherfucker. I didn't know what for and I didn't know why, but I did. 2014 sees me do some amateur MMA... and I loved it, it quelled my competitive spirit - I didn't miss pro-wrestling anymore."

A dead serious look in his eyes.

"Not one bit, I was shocked, my wife was shocked. My kids were shocked. I didn't miss the phone calls either... asking if I was available for bookings, asking for my comments in some blog's Where Are They Know? feature. I changed my number and kept myself distanced from the whole thing. 2016 rolls around and I find myself in downtown Toronto, I see a big LION'S ROAD banner and I wonder what the hell is going on. I get Mandeville Nelson's number... and I sit on it. Come December, I finally rang him up. He's happy to hear from me and says that Pollo Bucket wants a connection to the old Lion's Road - Cutlass recommended me. One recluse to another, I guess."

He smirks.

"So I do these ceremonies, I watch these matches... I watch Cutlass go on this incredible run while my mind keeps saying - what if?"

The fans erupt as Ben Chrenshaw walks out with a smirk. The Crippler strolls over to the broadcast booth and takes a rare moment to let the fans finish, grabbing his suit edges and showing off his MAX-J Heavyweight belt that is wrapped around his waist. He accepts a microphone from Shelzi.

BEN CHRENSHAW
I'll never get used to you guys cheering for me...

Again, the Hamilton crowd lets Chrenshaw feel the love.

BEN CHRENSHAW
But I came out here for one reason...

Ben's face takes on a much more serious look.

BEN CHRENSHAW
I wanted to come out here and talk to someone very serious.

The cheers quiet down as the fans quickly realize who he means.

BEN CHRENSHAW
Justin Seville, you have been taking cheap shots at my best friend.

The boos rain in as Chrenshaw says Seville's name.

BEN CHRENSHAW
I can't let that happen anymore. You and I have unfinished business as it is, so let's put these little games aside and do this the right way. You and me in this ring.

Chrenshaw turns toward the entrance, holding his arms out wide - waiting for Seville to answer the challenge. The fans boo as the curtains swing open and "Serious" Justin Seville walks out to an overwhelming amount of boos. He chuckles at the response and walks over to the booth, getting in the face of Chrenshaw.

BEN CHRENSHAW
How's your ear?

Seville smirks but ignores it.

JUSTIN SEVILLE
Ben, Ben, Ben... what has happened to you? You used to be THE CRIPPLER. Your name used to be synonymous with pain and devastation. And now?

Seville sizes up Chrenshaw, and then shakes his head.

JUSTIN SEVILLE
Now you’re a little more than AJ Knight’s sidekick and head cheerleader.

Ben looks out into the crowd and smirks again.

BEN CHRENSHAW
It's still better than being a man who can't get ahead in this company unless he gets an early advantage on his opponent. I'm standing right here... what are you gonna do?

Ben doesn't back down from Seville as the Serious One raises the mic again to make his retort, but he strikes Chrenshaw over the head with it! Chrenshaw crumbles and Seville boots him in the face before throwing the mic down on the desk and walking backstage.

BRIAN SHELZI
This guy's a regular microphone assassin - dinging people over the dome with them left and right tonight!

Some stage hands rush out to check on Chrenshaw as we go to break.

Ladies and gentlemen, this Heritage Heavyweight title bout is your main event of the evening! It is to be fought over a fifteen minute time limit with one fall, one submission or a knockout to decide the winner!

The Hamilton crowd ignites as "New Orleans is Sinking" by the Tragically Hip begins, Eli Buchanan walks out and the pop somehow gets louder as the former Tiger Mask Red raises his arms and soaks in the adulation of the fans.

SAM HEWITT
As we mentioned at the top of the program, Hamilton is just a short drive from Eli's hometown of Guelph and it appears that a lot of people made that short commute to come support him.

BRIAN SHELZI
What!? I can't hear you...?

Buchanan slaps hands with some fans, even stops to sign a few autographs on his way to the ring.

BRADY ROSSEN
Introducing the challenger! In the blue corner from Guelph, Ontario!

LOUD pop.

BRADY ROSSEN
He weighs in at two hundred and thirty five pounds... ELI BUCHANAN!

Buchanan leaps onto the apron and climbs through the ropes, posing inside the ring with a big smile on his face. The music dies down and boos replace the cheers as Derek Draven walks out, clutching the Heritage Heavyweight title. No music as usual.

BRADY ROSSEN
Introducing the champion! In the red corner from Albany, New York! He weighs in at two hundred and twenty pounds... DEREK DRAVEN!

Draven seems unfazed, maybe even strangely delighted by the negative reaction he's getting as he comes down the aisle and climbs inside the ring.

BRIAN SHELZI
There's the man that choked Alex Kincaid right out of the Great Lakes territory last week and now he's got the opportunity to strike Buchanan down close to home.

Draven walks right up to Buchanan and pie faces him! Buchanan comes back with a right hand that staggers the champion! Referee Cordell Garner dives after the Heritage belt as it falls and hands it off to Rossen as the bell sounds. Buchanan levels Draven with a couple more shots, backing him up as he does. Buchanan gets Draven on the ropes and plays to the crowd, raising his fist... but the champion headbutts him! Buchanan staggers and falls to a knee, Draven grabs him and throws him into the ropes. Buchanan bounces off and ducks Draven's attack, springs off the opposite ropes and rocks the champion's world with a lariat on the return! Draven goes down but fights back up to his feet... Buchanan grabs him and delivers an exploder suplex! Draven lands hard, sits up and rolls out as he drops to his knees on the floor. Buchanan is told to stay back by Garner and he obliges the request.

Now you've got the momentum on your side - why would you stand there and let someone like Draven recuperate?

SAM HEWITT
Refusing to afford someone the opportunity to return to the ring is a yellow card foul, Brian. Besides a title can change hands by countout.

But you know as well as I do that this early in a bout, it's unlikely you've dished out enough punishment to get an opponent counted out. You're just letting your own adrenaline cool down by doing this.

SAM HEWITT
Perhaps it's the fact that Buchanan has spent the last little while being a tag team wrestler alongside Carl Whitaker and of course, a participant touching the floor in a tag match brings in his partner so giving chase in that situation doesn't benefit you.

Draven slides in and gets to his feet, Buchanan pummels him with clubs to the back and then leads him over to the corner where he knees him several times in the gut. The former tag champion grabs him in a front waist hold and pulls him out of the corner. He goes for a belly to belly, but Draven elbows his way free and then slams his head into Buchanan again! Buchanan falls to his knees and retreats back to the corner but the Heritage Champion slowly stalks him and upends him with a palm strike as the challenger turns around, sending him back into the corner. Draven grabs Buchanan by the throat in a goozle and begins choking him! Garner steps in and his count reaches four, Draven lets go and backs up as Buchanan falls to his knees gasping for air. Draven pulls Buchanan up by his red hair and throws him into the opposing corner! Buchanan hits hard and stumbles out... Draven spins and lays into Buchanan with the Scythe of Sorrow - a discus lariat! Draven contemplates the pinfall but listens to the crowd getting behind Eli and stands up, he walks over and places his foot on Eli's throat and asks the Hamilton crowd if this is their hero!? The crowd gets louder with ELI! ELI! ELI! chants prompting Buchanan to grab Draven's boot and push it away. Draven grabs Buchanan up off the mat and quickly executes a swinging neckbreaker then crawls over for the cover...

2-NO!

Draven pulls Buchanan up to his feet and hits him with a palm strike, Buchanan goes down against the ropes. Draven walks over and goes to grab him, but Buchanan fires back with an elbow to the gut that stuns the Dark Prophet. Buchanan turns and hits a throat thrust on him, sending him staggering away gasping for air. Buchanan falls back to his knees, Draven turns back around and charges at his challenger...

No one home!

Now here's a prime opportunity for Buchanan, let's see how he wastes it here.

Buchanan gets up and watches Draven daze backwards out of the corner! Buchanan hurries to his feet, he slams his hand into Draven's chest with not one, not two but three knife edge chops! Draven falls back against the ropes, Buchanan grabs him and sends him out across into the opposite ropes. Draven comes back and eats a Yakuza kick!

SAM HEWITT
A thunderous Yakuza kick! It looks like there will be no wasted time here, Brian!

He goes down to a huge pop from the Hamilton crowd. Buchanan is all fired up as he turns around, grabbing Draven up off his knees and into a front chancery. He grabs his tights and hoists him up...

CHAOS DRIVER!

The Northern Lights bomb drives Draven into the mat, but Buchanan can't follow up!

BRIAN SHELZI
And there it is, Sammy - the adrenaline dump! Buchanan's fuelling himself through these fans but he took too long to get rock and rolling and now he's got Draven down and can't make a cover!

Buchanan pulls himself over to Draven, but it looks like he's fighting through quick hand. He drapes an arm across Draven's chest and Garner counts!

...

NO!

The Hamilton crowd's baited breath comes out at once, Buchanan rolls off all blown up. Draven turns onto his side and tries to figure out where he's at after being dumped on his head, Buchanan forces himself up using the ropes. He grabs the top rope and shakes it, trying to fire up the fans to get behind him and give him some more energy. He turns around and ducks Draven's swing, he chickenwings an arm of Draven but the Dark Prophet keeps his right arm free... he spins around, Buchanan releases the chickenwing and grabs Draven in a rear waist hold and charges forward into the buckles! He tries to pull him back, but the champion wisely holds on. Buchanan falls backwards and Draven double stomps him in the stomach! Buchanan makes an ungodly noise as he rolls onto all fours, his feet flailing... Draven pulls him in!

PILEDRIVER!

...

2...

...

3!

The fans boo as Draven rolls out and collects his belt. Buchanan lays on the mat, still struggling to breathe after the double stomp.

Look at this, Sam. This is how you bait an opponent! Buchanan tries for that Tiger suplex, but can't get the other arm and Draven fights out of it. Buchanan wisely changes strategies and locks on a waist hold. He runs Draven into the corner looking for the Pandemonium Plex, but that's where the cardio comes into play. Draven hangs on, Buchanan goes down and gets his stomach stomped on. If you weren't winded before, you sure would be after that. He rolls over and leaves himself wide open for the icing on the cake - the Prophetic Piledriver!

Draven is now up the aisle as we come back to real time, holding his belt up again as he exits to the back. Eli Buchanan stands up inside the ring, receiving a wonderful response from the Hamilton crowd even in defeat. He holds his stomach and falls to his knees, but bows in response to the crowd. There's suddenly boos as Draven charges back out, diving inside the ring. Buchanan tries to fight him off, but the Dark Prophet throws him out of the ring. The fans are pelting him with garbage as he follows Eli out. He boots Eli in the face a couple of times before grabbing him in position for another piledriver. The fans are screaming at Draven to stop. One fan even tries to jump the rail, but Draven blasts him. The place comes unglued as Carl Whitaker runs out from the back, dashes around the ring and chases Draven off. Whitaker picks up the Heritage belt and looks at it with a smile, the fans cheer as they sense his interest in it. Draven slinks back in and snatches it away, Whitaker pulls Eli to his feet...

AND THROWS HIM AT DRAVEN WHO NAILS HIM WITH THE BELT!

Boos rain down to the point where the sound quality suffers on the broadcast. Buchanan goes down, bloodied up from the shot. Whitaker goes to grab Eli, but the fans topple the guardrail and the two men take off. The program feed quickly drops.
