FIGHTER INFORMATION
REAL NAME -
Benjamin Ames Markham
STAGE NAME -
Bam Markham
NICKNAME(S) -
The Big Bad Bull From Boulder, MR. HERITAGE
HEIGHT & WEIGHT -
Six-foot four. Two-hundred and eighty pounds.
DATE OF BIRTH -
January 25th, 1994
PLACE OF BIRTH -
Boulder, Colorado
FIGHTS OUT OF -
Boulder, Colorado
YEAR OF DEBUT -
2014
ALIGNMENT -
Gonna say a five/six here. Bam isn't trying to endear himself to anybody and js generally a self-serving asshole, but has been in a series of big fights for the Heritage Heavyweight title and has earned the respect of some fans especially going against more hated threats (ie, The WALL)
PERSONALITY -
Straight forward, trash-talking ass kicker. He doesn't care who you are and is not intimidated by the size, star power or skillset of anybody in front of him. He WILL fight you and goddamn it, he'll win or go down swinging like crazy. While nowhere near a traditional "face," crowd reaction may change depending on who he is pitted against.
EQUIPMENT -
-Black sleeveless body suit with white patterns (think something like Bam Bam Bigelow but with no sleeves)
-White taped fists/knuckles
-Black boots with "BAM!" on either side. No kickpads or mouthguards for the big lug.
CASUAL ATTIRE -
The most casual attire (ratty/torn t-shirts, jeans, etc.) Lazy millenials can't dress themselves.
WALKOUT ATTIRE -
Nothing special. Maybe a Markham gym t-shirt but that's it.
WALKOUT THEME -
"World On Fire" by Corrosion Of Conformity
ALLIES/RIVALS -
David Troy (Ally, former rival) - HATED each other when they first met, only to find out much later about a wrestling connection (Cam being related to Troy's former partner Alex Markham). Due to mutual hatred of the WALL, the two formed their successful pairing of the Dangerous Mix
Mushigihara (Ally... Ish) - Doesn't know him on any personal level, but has watched he and Troy's back so he trusts him enough.
Cam "Slam" Markham (Ally/manager) - Legendary manager and his grandfather. See separate bio for his info.
The WALL (Rivals) - Since coming to Lion's Road, Bam has stood in their way not because of any hero complex, but simply because of repeated attacks he has been the victim of. They have stood in his way multiple times and have battled for months.
AJ Knight (Rival) - Doesn't know him on any personal level either. But hates the fact he lost to AJ during the Laurentide Cup, simple as that (Bam, being a simple person, mind you). Have exchanged many words via promos and TV since.
BRIEF HISTORY -
Ben aka Bam Markham is the grandson of legendary Southern star Cam "Slam" Markham. While his father didn't wrestle, Bam loved the physicality of the sport and decided to try and make a name for himself regardless of who gets put in front of him.
PREVIOUS INJURIES -
Minor bruises and bumps, but nothing major. He's young so no major injuries have befallen him (yet).
STRENGTHS/WEAKNESSES -
Strengths:
1. Size. Over most, if not almost all the roster, Bam Markham has a considerable size advantage he'll happily exploit.
2. Punching power. Bam learned how to use his rock-like fists as weapons from Grandpappy. His punches (while wild) HURT people.
3. Wild style. Fighting Bam is like fighting a bear who has rudimentary wrestling knowledge. Win, lose or draw, fools are gonna walk away with bruises. In a short time in wrestling, Bam has developed a little of a cult following for being good at wild brawls.
Weaknesses:
1. Lack of experience. Bam has about four years experience. Just enough to have a nominal idea of what to do in the ring, but a wrestling prodigy he is not.
2. Temper. He is a GIANT child with a temper to match. If he can get mad, he is prone to mistakes that more experienced opponents can capitalize on.
3. Disregard for rules. Bam is gonna get a lot of penalty cards, probably. His "I'm bigger, therefore better" mentality doesn't lend itself to making friends with anybody, let alone earn points with officials.
SPORTSMANSHIP -
Rules are guidelines to Bam and he don't give a flying fig what you think. No handshakes because he's a hotheaded, arrogant young punk. While he won't ACTIVELY break rules on purpose, he may go off the deep end if his temper gets the best of him. But Ricky Steamboat, he is not. Not above tapping to save himself, but he'll fight like hell before it comes to that.
FIGHTING STYLE -
Sloppy, wild and hard hitting brawler; something like a young Terry Bam Bam Gordy (where IRL, name is a tribute!) About the opposite of almost anybody else in Lion's Gate currently. May surprise people with an aerial move here and there (mainly his counter dropkick and When Bulls Fly)
SIGNATURE MOVES -
- Bam Bomb (Folding Powerbomb w/pin)
- Meat Hook (Straight NASTY left hook a la Juice Robinson, but from a 280-pounder.)
-Idiot Toss(Johnny Gargano's Lawn Dart)
-When Bulls Fly (Diving Headbutt)
-Black Mark (Spinning Side Slam/Black Hole Slam. Cam "Slam" Markham's old finisher)
FAVOURITE MOVES -
- Clubbing Blows to various body parts (his main strike with the only punch being the Meat Hook)
- Sidewalk Slam
- Headbutts
- Fallaway Slam (without the fall)
- Snapmare followed by punt kick to the back
- Backbreaker
- Big Boot
- Scoop Throwing Powerslam (doesn't fall with the slam but rather throws opponent into the mat)
- Vertical Suplex
- Thesz Press
- Running Shoulder Block
- Throwing Release German Suplex
COUNTER MOVES -
- Running Dropkick (not graceful in any way, but imagine a big-ass dude dropkicking you)
- Catching/Throwing opponents into something (barricade, corner, etc.)
TAUNTS -
- Lots of trash talking to a downed opponent
- Blowing snot rockets near or om a downed opponent. Keeping it classy here.
-Walking away from an opponent's aerial spot as they dive at him (not 100% of course, but it happens a fair bit)
