Night 4 of the Laurentide Cup kicked off before a packed house in Watertown, New York.
In the opening bout, the King of Lions World's Champion AJ Knight took on Mike Musket. The two men wowed the New York fans with a slick grappling exchange in the first few minutes before AJ began concentrating on Musket's arm, trying to neutralize his lariat by using a number of different holds and strikes to wear it down. Musket countered AJ's atomic drop, grabbing the champ and delivering a backdrop driver! He tried to get AJ's legs and set up the Wolf Trap, but AJ tripped him up and locked on the Templar Stretch to get the submission win. Musket expressed frustration in his post match interview, telling reporters that his stateside campaign hadn't gone as he'd hoped. He congratulated AJ as he came backstage, calling him a hell of a fighter. AJ was gracious, but too expressed frustration - saying that Billy Danielson ruined his chance to one up Julian Cutlass and run through the Laurentide Cup with a perfect record. Musket told him to keep his head and walked off.
After being disqualified in his last bout for weapon use, GRIM brought similar tactics to his battle with Joe Stanton. Stanton's entrance was interrupted by Billy Danielson, who came out to sit at ringside and observe the match. Referee Cordell Garner refused any weapons in the ring, but left the men to their own devices on the floor. GRIM sought a steel chair and was handed one by Billy Danielson, the World Tag Team Champion wasn't quite sure what to make of the gesture and his hesitation in attacking bit him as Stanton recovered and shoved GRIM and the chair into Danielson! GRIM got up and tried to attack, but ate a belly to belly suplex on the floor! Stanton was going to go for a second, but heard the count at eight. He grabbed GRIM and put him on the apron and climbed in himself, before attempting to butterfly suplex the tag champion into the ring. Garner missed Danielson grabbing Stanton's foot as he was performing the move, resulting in GRIM landing on top and securing the pin. After the bout, Danielson came backstage and answered questions. He said he wasn't worried about Justin Seville tonight, then GRIM came walking through the curtain and the two men went face to face. GRIM smirked and Danielson looked a bit uncomfortable. Stanton burst through the curtain and tried to get at Danielson, but the two men were separated and sent to their dressing rooms.
Zenki once again had his new look as he came out to battle the Heritage Heavyweight Champion, Bam Markham. While the champion overpowered the Demon Lord at the beginning of the bout, Zenki did manage to turn things around by ducking the left hook. He leapt onto the ropes and took out Markham with a moonsault! From there, Zenki tried his best to keep the Heritage Champ from getting back to his feet, minimizing the size difference as best he could. Markham finally got back up, tried to use the Idiot Toss on Zenki but got shoved into the turnbuckles. Zenki bounced off the ropes and nailed the Zanbato, but the Bull from Boulder barely moved. Zenki kept moving, trying for a shotei - it missed. Markham turned around, ate an abisegiri! The big man staggered into the ropes, Zenki rushed out to the apron then leapt off the top - striking with a shotei that sent the champion to the floor. Zenki then scaled the ropes again, then wowed fans as he executed a shooting star press to the floor! Xavier Price's ten count reached nine and the Demon Lord got back in, picking up his first win of the tournament. Through a translator, he praised Markham's in-ring work but put down his odor - saying he needs to spend a week in a Japanese bathhouse. The Heritage Heavyweight Champion wasn't concerned with the comments about his hygiene, he came backstage roaring about ripping the "Halloween costumed geek" apart.
Justin Seville came into his match with Billy Danielson with a mean streak. Whether it was him just being happy to get the monkey off his back on Thursday, or he heard the comments from Danielson - he relied on his technical skills to outwork Danielson early. Danielson fired up, using some strikes to attack the leg. He then began focusing his attack on it, one hundred percent with a chop block, a knee drop, even a vertical suplex delivered into the corner all directed at the leg. Seville had to improvise his comeback a bit, after trying a rope assisted brainbuster which nearly saw Danielson get the win after Seville's leg gave out and he fell on top. Seville avoided any lifting moves, trying to roll with the punches. He went for a superkick, but got caught. Danielson spun him around, tried for the Glass Ceiling Breaker but Seville held onto the ropes! Danielson fell to the mat, Seville grabbed his legs and bridged over and scored the three! Seville rolled out and laughed as Danielson yelled at referee Robbie Morris in disbelief. Backstage, Justin Seville could only smile as media tried to get him to answer questions. Billy Danielson came back and answered every question the same - "Yeah, but I beat the World Champion" before leaving.
David Troy was on Twitter threatening to deliver a eulogy to Alexander Irvine's funeral ahead of his bout with the Unnatural. Despite neither man being too well liked by the fans, they respected their efforts and were delighted by the intense shoot style exchanges throughout the match. The closing moments in particular got the crowd rocking as Troy went for a German suplex, Irvine landed on his feet and tried for a flying knee but Troy side stepped the stop and unleashed the Flash Bang - Irvine caught the kick and threw Troy into the corner with a capture suplex. The former King of Lions ran full steam into the corner, seeking his signature forearm shot but found nothing but turnbuckles. Troy sprung to his feet, bounced off the ropes and soared into the air with the intention of a Blazing Star Strike but the running knee was interrupted by Irvine's forearm! The Unnatural beat the count back to his feet, but Troy wasn't so lucky. Irvine was mobbed by reporters after the match, specifically regarding his TRT but offered no comments other than he felt reinvigorated.
Fans were very vocal for the classic David vs. Goliath story in the main event as Matt Pulver battled Pat Cross. As expected, Pulver faced some trouble with Cross' size in the early goings of the contest but kept the battle even and at one point, he became the Swedish Muhammad Ali. Kick after kick, bobbing and weaving, he had the big man on wobbly legs. He opted to go upstairs and leapt off for what appeared to be a tornado DDT, but held on and tried to wrangle the Alaskan Assassin to the mat with a guillotine choke. Cross countered out of it and dropped the Swede with a single arm body slam, he then grabbed Pulver and went for the powerbomb but the Mat Wrestling Machine got the guillotine choke applied again! "Juneau" backdropped his way out of this one and grabbed a dazed Pulver, dropping him with a double underhook DDT to secure the win in fourteen minutes. Backstage following the win, Pulver and Cross shook hands and told reporters it was a battle they both enjoyed and hoped to rematch down the line.
