KALAMAZOO! Are you ready to make history?
The crowd cheers.
? ? ?
Come on, Kalamazoo! You can do better than that. Are you ready to make history?
The crowd cheers louder.
? ? ?
That’s more like it!
The lights come up and Eli Buchanan is standing in the middle of the ring, surrounded by stolls, with a television monitor hanging behind him. The crowd starts cheering louder and a “Eli” chant breaks out in the arena.
ELI BUCHANAN
Ladies and gentlemen, for those of you who don’t know me, my name is Eli Buchanan. Tonight, right here in Kalamazoo, we make history. Tonight I welcome you to the debut episode of “The Tiger Pit.”
As the crowd starts chanting his name again, the smile disappears from Eli’s face. He rubs his hand through his hair, as he turns serious.
ELI BUCHANAN
When I left here at the end of March, I told myself I wasn’t ever coming back. In my heart I felt like I had nothing to prove and I was perfectly happy to let Lions Road continue on without me, but something happened last week changed all that for me, and it involves four men who call themselves the WALL. Before you ask though, no it wasn’t AJ getting his ass kicked, because quite frankly I still don’t like him.
He smirks as he says that and many in the crowd cheer.
ELI BUCHANAN
If all Irvine and his boys did was slap AJ Knight around and bruise Becky Chande’s ego a bit, I probably wouldn’t be here tonight. But as I kept watching last week and witnessed what happened to my first guests this week, an angry started growing in the pit of my stomach and by the time “Great Lakes Pro-Wrestling” went off the air last Thursday night I found myself yelling, “This ain’t right. Someone needs to do something about it!” So I want to bring these two individuals out here right now to discuss this. So without further ado, let’s get this show started off with a bang, or should I say “bam”. Ladies and gentlemen, may I introduce the first ever guests on “Tiger’s Pit”, the Lions Road Heritage Champion, Bam Markham and his grandfather, the legendary Cam Markham!
"CMND-CTRL" by The Deftones plays and storming out from the back comes the Heritage Heavyweight Champion Bam Markham, followed shortly behind by his grandfather, Cam "Slam" Markham. The crowd gives a hearty round of jeers to the Big Bull from Boulder as he steps onto the set. He shoots Eli an apathetic glare and hoists his title. Behind him, Cam enters the ring, trying to keep up with his grandson, but it's no use. As he enters, the music fades and Cam reaches out to shake the hand of Eli.
CAM "SLAM" MARKHAM
Mr. Buchanan! Thanks for havin' us here tonight! You ain't gonna regret it...
But the second he says that, an impatient Bam has a microphone and is already regretting it instantly. He eyes Buchanan then turns back to his manager.
BAM MARKHAM
...Last I checked, this guy ain't a member of the WALL.
CAM "SLAM" MARKHAM
Right. You're a guest on his show.
Bam snorts.
BAM MARKHAM
Your hearin' gone to shit again, old man? I told you I wanted a member of the WALL in this fuckin' ring so I can beat somebody's ass. Instead, I'm on a talk show for... What?
He turns to Eli.
BAM MARKHAM
If y'all got somebody back there that says I'm the father, they're a fuckin' liar.
CAM "SLAM" MARKHAM
You need to hear what this man has to say, Bam.
ELI BUCHANAN
Thank you Cam, and let me say what an honour it is to make your acquaintance. Gentlemen, before I go any further, I want to show the world what happened last week right her in the ring.
He points to the television monitor behind him.
The crowd boos at what's just been seen.
ELI BUCHANAN
Bam, we just say the WALL viciously attack you four on one and I would love to get your thoughts on that.
Watching the footage back, Bam gets ready to explode.
BAM MARKHAM
What... What kind of fuckin' question is THAT? I ain't here to talk about my feelins... I'm here to beat somebody's ass!
They don't like Bam all that much, but the crowd does cheer at wanting a fight. He ignores them and turns to Cam.
BAM MARKHAM
Old man! I told you I wanted a match. We're done here.
Cam stops Bam from leaving by putting a hand out.
CAM "SLAM" MARKHAM
Son, listen to the man! We've got a solution to the WALL problem, but y'all need to listen!
ELI BUCHANAN
If you will indulge me for a couple of minutes, I promise to make this worth your while. With that said though, I'd like to invite another individual out here. Ladies and gentlemen, may I introduce to you, "Juneau" Pat Cross!
The synthetic drums kill the arena lights as Asking Alexandria’s version of “Closer” cuts over the PA system. Bam’s fiery gaze slowly shifts from Eli to the fans, roaring at the idea of Cross and Markham going at it right off the bat. Cross steps from the back with caution, sporting a black ‘BIG ALASKA’ t-shirt, and scans his immediate surroundings on approach to the ring. Cross slides through the ropes and slowly gets to his feet. The fans pop as Cross stands, immediately coming chest to chest with Markham, gesturing to the Heritage Title belt, as the two share some heated, inaudible exchange of words. Before long, Eli and Cam slip between the two, defusing the situation to a degree.
ELI BUCHANAN
GENTLEMEN! Gentlemen, allow me to explain to you why I have brought you both out here. See the way I look at it, you two have a common enemy in the WALL. Those four men, Irvine, Seville, Whitaker and Hammerstein, are currently running roughshod around here and no one seems to be able to stop them. Groups like the WALL, if left unchecked, will bring this company to its knees. Now I know a thing or two about running around with a few people watching my back; the Red Army nearly took over this company because everyone in the company at that time was too busy worrying about themselves to try to take us down. It took internal strife to bring us down, but the way I see it, there's no time to sit around and wait for the WALL to fall apart. If you two are going to stand any chance of not only surviving against these four men, but to stand up to them and push them back, you're going to have to join forces.
Eli walks over to Pat Cross and slaps him on the shoulder. Cross looks down, thinking some type of small bird has landed on him. He looks up, before noticing Eli propping himself on his large frame, and turns back to keep an eye on Bam.
ELI BUCHANAN
Juneau, not only are you one of the strongest wrestlers I've ever seen but you have made one of the biggest impacts I've ever witnessed in this company's two year existence. There aren't many people here who have beaten Alexander Irvine, but you've done it twice!
He turns around and is about to point his finger at Bam, but thinks better of it.
ELI BUCHANAN
And speaking of impacts, Bam, you won the Heritage Title on your first night in the company. You have wrecked a path of destruction in this company since day one and the few people who've managed to beat you were damn lucky to escape with their heads in tact.
He looks back and forth between them and smiles wickedly.
ELI BUCHANAN
Imagine what would happen if you two joined forces, "The Big Bull from Boulder" and "The Juggernaut from Juneau". The two biggest, strongest sons of a gun this company has seen in quite awhile on the same side acting as the wrecking ball to knock the Wall down! Now I'm not asking you two to become best buds here, but I'm asking that you set your past differences aside and focus on this cause, because the only way anyone in Lion's Road is going to be able to concur those four men is to stand together and fight. If you chose not to, Irvine and his boys will pick you off one by one. So what do you guys say?
Cross folds his arms, watching Bam contemplate the idea, and turns his head toward Buchanan. Without saying anything, Cross looks back toward Bam without much indication of yay or nay. Cam turns towards Bam as well, arms open to entertaining the reasonable concept, as the Heritage Champion paces from side to side of the ring, never letting his eyes leave Cross’ position. The crowd seems to go along with the idea of Cam and Eli Buchanan and cheer because it's two hosses that could wreck fools if they combined powers all Captain Planet-like. Bam turns his microphone up to Pat...
Then an about face towards his grandfather.
He drops the microphone and the crowd JEERS. Eli shakes his head with disappointment while Pat rolls his eyes, almost like he expected this.
PAT CROSS
Lost cause. He's only in this for himself.
Bam stops when he hears those words and turns around like he's gonna size up to the big Alaskan again...
Then stops short of the ring.
BAM MARKHAM
Nobody picks my battles but ME. Let's go, Pops.
The Big Bull From Boulder leaves with Cam shaking his head. He looks at Eli and Pat.
CAM "SLAM" MARKHAM
Still gonna try and talk some sense into his dumb ass...
He follows behind and soon, both of the Markhams disappear backstage. Eli shakes his head as he watches them leave. He turns to Pat Cross.
ELI BUCHANAN
Think about what I've said. I'm not wrong about this.
The two shake hands to close the segment and we go to commercial break.

Seville exits the ring, Markham goes to turn around but Irvine grabs onto him. Seville rushes up and drives his knee into the back of the champion, sending him forward into the guardrails and nearly takes out Irvine in the process. Price gets out of the ring and waves his arms, calling for the bell. Seville turns around so quick that he nearly trips himself and Price, but gets up and presses the referee for answers. Price turns away, walking up to Brady Rossen who nods.
BRADY ROSSEN
Ladies and gentlemen, referee Xavier Price has called a stop to this match due to disqualification for outside interference! Your winner and still Heritage Heavyweight Champion, Bam Markham!
"AW, YOU SON OF A BITCH!"
Seville turns around and puts the boots to Bam, Irvine joins in and the other troops, Hammerstein and Whitaker come down for the party. It's a 4 on 1 beatdown on Markham! The fans look to the entrance aisle, hoping someone will come out to fight the WALL but the aisle remains vacant. Cam Markham gets up from his chair and folds it up, Irvine walks over to him...
"I suggest you sit your ass back down, old man."
The Unnatural snatches the chair away from Bam's grandfather, knocking him over in the process. Stage hands attend to him quickly, the WALL pulls Markham up and throws him to Seville, who stuffs him between his legs and piledrives him on the floor! Security steps in and the WALL finally backs away, happy with their handy work this evening.
