Note from the author: After failing to post new shows for the past few weeks I’m going to just come straight and just admit that I’ve considered quitting the PWGP series. As I told a friend last week I often find myself trying to write these shows in the middle of the night due to work and spending time with family, and quite frankly if that means I have to chose between writing and sleep, I’ll chose sleep. Having said that though, I’m not quite ready to give up quite yet. At the very least I want to make it to “Glory Road: War Games” for reasons that I hope will make sense once it’s written. I will be pushing “War Games” up a week to July 2nd, so I have time to properly write what will possibly be the series finale, or perhaps just a mid-season hiatus.
I’ve got a lot of ground to cover and not a lot of time though. So instead of ignoring the past few weeks I’ve missed, I will simply write results for each show, with a few sentences thrown in here or there to add to the story:
PWGP “CHARGE”: Episode 24 (June 10, 2018)
-It was announced prior to the first match by BUAC Spokesman Robert Fredrick that the point system will not be in place for the remaining shows leading up to “War Games”. It is also announced on top of the already announced War Games match and elimination tag team match there would be held a tournament at the event to determine who the new PWGP Television Champion is. All members of the rosters not already announced for the previously announced matches are welcome to participate.
MATCH 1: “Team Bald and Dangerous” (Vlars and Axel Moros) defeated Surf ‘n Turf (Vod and Zaros) in a rematch. Vlars would pin Vod following a Puke Bucket Stunner to pick up the victory.
-Following the match, the pair were approached by Faititli, Bryant Adam Thompson and Philly Cheese Snake to join their team to face off against Asper’s Army at “War Games” and the members of B.A.D. agreed
Match 2: BOB and the Moondogs (Buster and Runt) defeated the Unknowns 1, 2 & 3. BOB appeared really off his game during the match and there was some miscommunication between him and the Moondogs early on but BOB would eventually win the match for his team, pinning all three Unknowns following a running splash.
-It was announced by Robert Fredrick at this time that Team PWGP would consist of PWGP Global Champion, Eli Buchanan, the PWGP International Tag Team Champions, Easy E and Sweet Daddy D, Alan Hunter and to the shock of many people, The Big O. Fredrick reminds us that the Invaders have until the end of the show to announce their team or the deal between them and PWGP is null and void.
MATCH 3: Thing Dos defeated James Daniels by disqualification when Daniels got tired of the shenanigans from both Thing Uno and Dos and attacked them with a chair. Jimmy Jive would try to intercede with his son only for Daniels to attack him with the chair as well, leaving all three men lying around ringside.
-Saul Asper and his army confronted Robert Fredrick and his assistant, Deedee Gagnon about the elimination match, which Asper believed he should not be involved in. Robert grew tired of his antics though and changed the elimination match to a second War Games Match instead, which led to a terrified Asper and his men departing.
MATCH 4: The main event saw Eli Buchanan successful defend the PWGP Global Title against The Technician. During the match, Tech used his loaded boot to injure Eli’s right knee and worked on it throughout the match. Eli would be forced to withstand the pain of the figure four leg lock but refused to quit. He would eventually pin The Technician with a Pendulum Plex rolling German suplex with a bridge.
-Following the match the lights went out and when they came back up four men had surrounded the ring. One by one they revealed themselves to be GRIM, Jin Hirai, a man in a black mask, … and KRAKEN!
Eli looked shocked to see so many of his former friends and rivals in one place and appeared ready to fight them all off if he had to. He never got the chance though as a fifth hooded figure appeared in the ring. When Eli turned to confront him, the man removed his hood to reveal he was wearing a red tiger mask and threw a fireball in Eli’s shocked face to close off the show.
PWGP “CHARGE”: Episode 25 (June 17, 2018)
-The show opened with Robert Fredrick reassuring the PWGP fans that Eli Buchanan would be fine after last week’s attack and announced a series of matches over the next two weeks to determine who would control the man advantage in both of the War Games matches on June 2nd.
MATCH 1: B.A.D.: Bald and Dangerous (Vlars and Axel Moros) defeated The Agents of Pain (Agents B & D). Moros pinned Agent D with a rolling death valley driver to pick up the pin. With this victory, Team Philly Cheese Snake is up 1-0 to determine who will have the man advantage in their War Games match.
-”High Five” Jimmy Jive called out his son to try to talk some sense into him after what happened last week. This led to James Daniels attacking his father for a second time with a chair. After the assault, Daniels challenged his father to a “Retirement Match” at “War Games” because he was sick of seeing him around and wanted him to retire so he could go away and die.
MATCH 2: Alan Hunter defeated the black masked man, who revealed himself to be Eli Buchanan’s former apprentice, Máscara de Tigre Negro. The manic luchadore put up an incredible fight but Hunter managed to steal the victory with a small package. This gives Team PWGP a 1-0 lead in determining who which team will have the man advantage in their War Games Match.
-After the match Negro attacked Hunter and beat him down until wounded Eli Buchanan arrived to chase him off. The two had a heated exchange before Negro escaped through the crowd.
MATCH 3: “Iron” Mack Brody defeated Faititli by pinfall, nearly taking the Samoan warrior’s head off with a Lariat to pick up the victory and tying things up 1-1 for Asper’s Army
-The Guru comes out with BOB, still angry after the fireball his Green Faced Goliath took two weeks ago at the hands of the PWGP Global Champion. He challenges Eli Buchanan to a fight, who states he doesn’t have time to have to watch his back for another guy coming after him and agrees to the fight. He charged the ring and starts braling with BOB. The fight is short but intense before the two of them are broken apart by security and officials. There appears to be a level of respect between the two of them after they were seperated and neither seems to fight against those who are holding them back from one another.
MATCH 4: Kraken, Jin Hirai and GRIM defeated The Big O and the PWGP International Tag Team Champions, The East K Connection (Easy E and Sweet Daddy D). Kraken was absolutely dominate in his PWGP return, pinning Big O with a moonsault.
-After the match, the three Invaders attacked Big O, after disposing of the tag team champions outside the ring. Kraken would hit a second moonsault, this time on Big O’s right leg and GRIM would lock on the GRIM clutch to further injure the man. This led to Big O having to be carried out on a stretcher to close up the show and leaving us to wonder if he will be in any shape to compete at “War Games”.
PWGP “CHARGE”: Episode 26 (June 24, 2018)
-At the top of the show we learn from Robert Fredrick that following the injuries he suffered at the hands of Kraken and GRIM, Big O will not be able to compete in War Games on July 2nd. A replacement has already been picked by Eli Buchanan and will be named later in the show.
MATCH 1: The Technician, the Moondogs (Runt and Buster) and Surf ‘n Turf (Vod and Zaros) defeated Things Uno & Dos, Goober the Gooker and The Unknowns 1 & 2. Tech would use the loaded boot and a bulldog to pin Dos to pick up the pinfall. This match was meant to showcase some of the talent we could see in the Television Title Tournament being held next week at “War Games” and The Technician seemed confident he would regain the title he had forfeited just three weeks ago.
MATCH 2: James Daniels defeated Orville Newton with a flying elbow drop.
-Following the match, Daniels was attacked by his father, Jimmy Jive. Daniels managed to escape but not before his father told him that the Retirement Match was on for “War Games” and that if it meant forcing his son to retire from wrestling to knock some sense into him, so be it.
MATCH 3: True North Ant and Saul Asper defeated Philly Cheese Snake and Bryant Adam Thompson. Asper spent most of the match on apron, only coming in to get a few shots when Thompson was down. Thompson and Philly would try to make a comeback but TNA would hit a low blow on Philly allowing Asper to pin him and securing the second point his Army needed to earn the numbers advantage for the Asper’s Army vs Team Philly Cheese Snake War Games Match.
-Prior to the main event, Eli Buchanan refused to tell his fellow Team PWGP team mates who he had gotten to team with them. Telling them they would learn when the time was right.
MATCH 4: Eli Buchanan was set to face “Tiger Mask Red” to determine whether it was Team PWGP or the Invaders who would have the man advantage for their War Games match on July 2nd. The man in the red tiger mask, however, would disappear after the lights in the arena went out and a seven foot tall man in a red mask stood in there in his place. The red masked giant would attack Eli and batter the life out of the PWGP Global Champion. Head referee would finally disqualify the masked beast when he refused to stop choking Eli with a ring rope. Which means that Team PWGP would have the man advantage going into their War Games Match next week.
-The victory did Eli little good, as the red masked giant would continue to choke him after the bell. This would lead to Alan Hunter and the East K Connection coming to Eli’s rescue but they were set upon by Kraken, GRIM, Jin Hirai and Máscara de Tigre Negro, leading to many thinking that Team PWGP wouldn’t even make it to War Games. That is until BOB arrived, to the shock and delight of the crowd, helping Team PWGP clear house. In midst of the confusion the masked giant disappeared, leaving the rest fo the Invaders to retreat and Team PWGP standing tall to close up the show.
