The WALL wants to protect the Great Lakes and return Lion's Road to its former glory - before the Japanese influence.

That's what the WALL wants.

But this man does not...

He wants to leave you behind to further his own agenda.

We’re not trying to say he hates women.

We’re not trying to say that he spent most of his time in Japan in Japanese massage parlours.

We’re not saying that he abuses drugs.

But we are saying is that pictures don’t lie.

We open to the broadcast booth situated by the entrance area, Sam Hewitt and Brian Shelzi are standing with microphones in hand.

SAM HEWITT

From the Windy City! Chicago, Illinois! Hello wrestling fans and welcome to the Chi-Town Rumble! I'm Sam Hewitt and alongside me as always is the boisterous Brian Shelzi. Brian, what do you think of tonight's bill?

BRIAN SHELZI

Sammy, I'm going to use a cliche - tonight's main event could be a main event in any promotion, North America or otherwise - even without the World's Heavyweight title at stake.

SAM HEWITT

AJ Knight defending the King of Lions belt against former champion, Alexander Irvine who is finally using the rematch clause he was owed. The Commission dictates that a former champion is entitled to a rematch if he can make at least one successful defense of the belt, Irvine of course made two - both against Carl Whitaker and tonight he finally gets it.

BRIAN SHELZI

Everybody seems a bit bewildered as to why Irvine was miffed that he had to wait, but I can understand it completely. He's owed a rematch, he wants to use it and gets told, "Sorry, Mr. Irvine - you're going to have to wait because AJ Knight is going to Japan to defend against GRIM."

SAM HEWITT

The logistics of an international title defense can be tricky, especially in regards to schedules so I cannot fault the Commission on that one. AJ wanted to avenge a loss and the LAC and Maximum Japan were able to make it happen.

BRIAN SHELZI

Yes, but forced one of its own talents - someone from the ORIGINAL generation - to wait. Is it any wonder why the WALL wants to keep the Japanese influence out?

SAM HEWITT

In any event, that's just one of THREE matches we've got for you this evening. The other two - a Strong Style Rules, KO or Submission only between the Crippler, Ben Chrenshaw and "Dynamite" David Troy. These two have met in singles competition three times now and each match has ended by pinfall. Despite the fact that Troy has two wins to Chrenshaw's one, he wants to settle this once and for all with what he calls a "definitive" ending - Knockout or Submission.

BRIAN SHELZI

It's as definitive as it gets, Sammy. Either one man taps or one man gets his block knocked off.

SAM HEWITT

And of course, the big six man tag match between the WALL and the united opposition of Heritage Heavyweight Champion Bam Markham, "Juneau" Pat Cross and Joe Stanton.

BRIAN SHELZI

Impressive opposition no doubt, but can a guy like Markham play well with others? Who's to say Pat Cross can go a minute without getting riled up? You don't have to worry about such questions with the WALL, Hammerstein, Carl Whitaker and Justin Seville have their game plan laid out.

SAM HEWITT

We're going to take a quick commercial interruption, but when we come back - the action gets underway!

BRADY ROSSEN

Ladies and gentlemen, this opening contest is to be fought over a fifteen minute time limit with a knockout or a submission as the only ways to win! Introducing first fighting out of Blackwood, New Jersey! He weighs in at two hundred and four pounds - DAVID TROY!

The distorted tones of “Death Threat” by Death in Vegas come over the PA system as David Troy walks through the door, clad in his ring gear. He walks down the aisle with a zen-like focus, paying no mind to the mixed reaction of the Chicago crowd. He climbs inside and turns to face the entrance aisle.

BRADY ROSSEN

His opponent from London, England! He weighs in at two hundred and thirteen pounds - BEN CHRENSHAW!

The Smiths' "Panic" hits and Ben Chrenshaw walks out, also unfazed by the crowd reaction to him. He smirks at Troy just staring him down from the ring, then climbs up and through the ropes and gets face to face with him.

BRADY ROSSEN

Your referee for this bout is Buster Powell!

Powell tells both men to back up into their respective corners.

SAM HEWITT

This should be a good one as we've got two of the best fighters under two hundred and fifteen pounds that this area has ever seen. Chrenshaw is a multiple time champion and Troy is a veteran fighter who just recently had an impressive run in the Laurentide Cup.

The bell sounds and the two men come out slowly and to the surprise of few, Chrenshaw goes for a lock-up. Troy manages to slink behind him and immediately applies a rear naked choke! The Chicago crowd pops big as Troy manages to drag Chrenshaw down to a seated position just moments into the bout. Chrenshaw's face is turning red, Powell goes to check but Troy lets go and goes for the Flash Bang kick, but Chrenshaw ducks...

GRABS A REAR WAIST HOLD... GERMAN SUPLEX!

The Crippler rolls over and props himself up in the corner, trying to catch his breath as Troy recovers from the suplex. Chrenshaw then marches over to him, clamps on the Dragon Sleeper that he calls the CS Lewis! Troy reaches up, grabbing Chrenshaw's head and drives his knee up into it. Chrenshaw absorbs the blow and hangs on, so Troy does it a second time... then a third! Chrenshaw is sent stumbling backwards. Troy rolls up to his knees and stands up, Chrenshaw tries to come forward but a leg kick stops him. Troy then dropkicks Chrenshaw's knee, sending the Crippler down to the mat in quite the hurry.

BRIAN SHELZI

I remember the first time I took one of those, the guy hit me with the dropkick to the knee and I went down so quick I just about got knocked out. It's a terrific tactic to use in a match like this because not only does it soften the leg up for submissions, while limiting further movement - it can potentially knock someone out, like I said.

Chrenshaw crawls back to his feet, Troy assumes a fighting stance and begins peppering him with leg kicks as soon as he stands up. Troy chuckles as Chrenshaw's leg gives out and he falls to a knee, Troy then brutally slaps him upside the head! The crowd oohs as Chrenshaw winces, then smirks. Troy tries to slap him again, but Chrenshaw catches the arm and headbutts Troy! Dynamite is staggered... Chrenshaw leaps up, wincing as his leg holds up his weight - then uses it to kick Troy in the gut. He tries for a snap suplex, but Troy slips out and clamps on a rear naked choke once again! Chrenshaw tries to fight it, but Troy pushes the back of his leg forward to send them both down to the mat. Chrenshaw reaches for the ropes, but they're out of reach. He begins pushing off the mat, trying to roll himself in the opposite direction to grab the ropes that are within reach but have David Troy between he and them. He manages to roll, but rolls too far and Troy takes back mount with the rear naked choke still applied. Chrenshaw tries to push off the mat, but Troy sinks the hold in tighter.

SAM HEWITT

Chrenshaw is not that far from the ropes, he has the ability to reach out and grab them but from this position, Troy holds a lot of leverage. He can feel an arm going out, he can yank it back in - Chrenshaw's got to do something. This was not the start to the match that he envisioned, I'm sure.

BRIAN SHELZI

But that's the problem with Chrenshaw's arrogance, Sammy. Everyone thought that oh, he tapped out Julian Cutlass twice, David Troy will be easy but that's not how it works. You eliminate pinfalls from the equation and this becomes a whole different game. Julian Cutlass is a great fighter in the pro-wrestling sense, David Troy has a kickboxing background and clearly, in preparation for this bout - has been training other areas. Like a true fighter should.

The Chicago fans begin a chant for Chrenshaw and it seems to fire him up a bit, he gets his knees underneath him... but Troy lets go! He leaps up and comes down, driving both knees into the back of the Crippler causing him to cry out in pain. Troy sits next to the wounded Chrenshaw, smirking. He climbs to his feet, giving Powell an opportunity to count.

Chrenshaw crawls toward the turnbuckles and manages to get himself steady on his feet at seven. Troy calmly walks across the ring, Chrenshaw prepares himself... but Troy smiles and invites him to stand in the centre. Chrenshaw doesn't accept - opting instead to slap his leg a few times to get some feeling going. Troy tries to rush him, but Chrenshaw side steps. Troy crashes into the 'buckles, Chrenshaw knees him in the gut as he turns around and hooks him up for the suplex...

BUT HE TURNS AND SNAP SUPLEXES TROY INTO THE CORNER TURNBUCKLES!

The crowd lets out a HOLY SHIT chant as Troy crashes down on his head and neck, Chrenshaw rolls away and struggles to his feet as Powell begin a count on Troy.

Troy is up! Chrenshaw turns and clocks him with an elbow, Troy wobbles back but returns fire! Chrenshaw! Troy! Chrenshaw! Troy! Chrenshaw! Dynamite falls backwards into the ropes, but comes back and kicks Chrenshaw in the leg, dropping him down to all fours. Troy then drops to a knee himself, holding his face from the elbows. This allows Chrenshaw to recover and recover he does, he comes alive with an elbow that knocks Troy back to his feet and into the corner. Chrenshaw rushes in...

TROY ELBOWS CHRENSHAW JUST AS HE ELBOWS HIM!

Both men fall to the mat!

SAM HEWITT

Spit and sweat and teeth! Just about everything flew into the air on those shots! Both men are down!

Both men beat the count and come together with another set of simultaneous elbows - albeit much weaker this time. Chrenshaw falls against Troy, but holds a clinch... and begins kneeing him as Troy falls backwards into the corner. Chrenshaw steps aside and lets Troy drop to the mat, he grabs the leg and tries to turn him over for the single leg crab but just like last time, an upkick ends that attempt pretty quick. Chrenshaw falls backwards into the corner and props himself up onto the second rope, Troy starts to get up...

CHRENSHAW FAKES HIM OUT!

Troy rolls away, thinking Chrenshaw's coming crashing down but the Crippler hops down and jumps on Troy's back, yanking up the leg to apply the half crab. Troy drags himself toward the ropes, Chrenshaw tries to stand up straight and readjust but this allows Troy to squirm over. He upkicks Chrenshaw in the chest, then in the head. Chrenshaw chucks the leg down and leaps up, trying for a non avalanche style leg drop...

BUT NO ONE IS HOME!

Troy moves and gets up...

FLASH BANG!

Chrenshaw crumples to the mat, Troy does too!

9 - Troy gets up, Chrenshaw grabs the middle rope, then the top rope...

BUT FALLS!

The bell sounds, David Troy gets to his feet and falls against the ropes. Buster Powell checks him over then raises his hand, Dr. Pierson goes to check on Ben Chrenshaw as another doctor attends to Troy.

BRIAN SHELZI

Look at this replay, Sammy. This is veteran experience coming into play, Troy's got the Wrinkle in Time scouted better than anyone I've seen. He does get stuck in at one point, but Chrenshaw faked him out. Well played on the Crippler's part, then he tries to readjust the hold when Troy gets close to the ropes but can't do it. Upkicks galore... Chrenshaw tries to get cute, throw Troy's leg aside and try a leg drop... and it costs him the match! Well played by both men, but David Troy was the better man here this evening.

Troy contemplates checking on Chrenshaw, but drops to the mat and rolls out.

SAM HEWITT

David Troy's a hard man to read, I'm sure what to make of that. They want his help against the WALL, but will he offer it? I guess we'll have to wait and find out.

By virtue of being number one contenders for the World's Tag Team titles, AJ Knight & Ben Chrenshaw will meet the winners from 7/12 to determine the inaugural champions.

JULY 26th
Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Matt Pulver challenges for the World's Heavyweight title.

The feed cuts to an old jarhead helmet, a gradual zoom out reveals that it's resting on the noggin of the Scarlet Speedster. His green eyes are focused off to the side of the shot. Not because of something fantastical being just out of frame, but because he's in deep thought. Stanton looks better than the last time he had been on Lion's Road programming, no longer a bloody mess.

"WALL..."

Stanton wets his lips, stroking his beard.

"I guess more specifically Justin Seville..."

Joe presses his index finger against his lips, pondering deeply on the matter.

"I have heard your spiel a hundred times before, jack. You want to improve your promotion, you want to make it great, you want to change it for the better..."

There's some reverence to Stanton's words, some thunder to his voice when he passionately recounts the WALL's agenda. Pausing, he stifles a chuckle and he looks directly into the camera lens with a smile.

"Good for you. Good for all of you."

The Scarlet Speedster gives a genuine nod.

"But what you have to realize my friend with the finely polished scalp, I don't really care about that. I don't care about destroying Lion's Road or molding it into whatever image for it I've come up with."

Joe shakes his head and he pantomimes breaking something & then molding something like clay by hand when describing what he doesn't intend to do with Lion's Road.

"It's like a soulful man once sang, I simply want Lion's Road to be Lion's Road, to Let It Be."

That smile widens and Joe gets a little sing-songy in tone when he invokes a particular song.

"I ain't resisting anybody, or trying to halt progress, I'm here for one very simple reason. To put a bow on it, it's like I said when I was a lot more heated about the matter, you got involved in something that wasn't yours to get involved with. You took something from me. And I admit I don't know a whole lot about this idealized Lion's Road you all are seeking but if it's a place where a man can have his hard earned opportunity taken away from him, I'm not particularly interested in going there."

The One Punch Man rolls his eyes when he quotes Justin's shtick, holding up his index finger to signify why he's here. It's as he gets closer to the topic that his voice steadily growls more, a renewed fire in those green eyes of his. Though he maintains a certain level of calm, it's clear that it's right there beneath the surface.

"What I am particularly interested in is in front of my hometown crowd of Chicago, in front of my brothers and sisters of the Second City, going to WAR with the WALL. Because maybe there's something to the old saying revenge is a dish best served cold..."

Joe's voice raises with every word he speaks, just shy of yelling by the end of it when he trails off and he grins.

"But I'm pretty sure it'll be just as good nuked."

Stanton slaps the helmet on his head a few times and storms out of shot, prompting the show to cut to elsewhere.

BRADY ROSSEN

Ladies and gentlemen, this six man tag team bout is to be fought over a fifteen minute time limit with one fall, one submission or a knockout to decide the winner! Introducing first at a combined weight of six hundred and ninety four pounds! The team of Hammerstein, Justin Seville and Carl Whitaker - THE WALL!

Stahlhammer's cover of "Another Brick in the Wall" begins and the trio come walking out, all decked out in WALL t-shirts. Whitaker leads the way, Hammer follows and Seville brings up the rear. The three enter the ring in that order and each taunt before...

BRADY ROSSEN

Introducing their opponents...

If there's music playing, there's no hearing it because the Chicago crowd is LOUD as hometown boy Joe Stanton leads the big men, Bam Markham and Pat Cross to the ring. They slide in and Xavier Price calls for the bell and runs for his safety as hell breaks loose straight away with all six men going at it. Cross and Whitaker are paired off, Stanton and Hammerstein are trading blows and Markham has got Seville cornered. The Heritage Champion eats a kick to the gut and Seville tries to capitalize but gets rammed back into the corner for his troubles, Stanton pulls Hammerstein over from the adjacent corner and Markham backs off as the Scarlet Speedster bonks Hammer and Seville's heads together! Whitaker slams Cross' head off the top turnbuckle and begins pummelling him. Hammerstein drops to the mat and rolls out of the ring, Stanton directs traffic and chucks Seville into the ropes...

MARKHAM WITH A SHOULDER TACKLE!

Whitaker is up on the second rope, pounding away on Cross. Stanton runs up behind him and slams his forearm into his back, Whitaker falls off of the ropes. Stanton spins him around, knees him in the gut and whips him into the corner. He handsprings across the ring, then nails a brutal kick to the face of Ol' Stonehands!

SAM HEWITT

Ooh my! He may have cracked stone with that one!

Whitaker goes down and Hammerstein grabs him, pulling him out of the ring to regroup with he and Seville. The WALL doesn't get much of an opportunity to formulate a plan as Joe Stanton grabs the top rope and launches himself over with a crossbody plancha! The Chicago crowd loves it! He gets up and begins picking up the members of the WALL, one by one and throwing them inside the ring. Cross grabs Seville, who immediately begins fighting back. Hammerstein and Markham get into fisticuffs also, Stanton tries to climb back inside the ring but Whitaker kicks his foot off the apron and he hits the apron with a thud and falls to the floor. Whitaker staggers to his feet and bashes Markham from behind, knocking him down. The two men stomp away at the Heritage Champion until he too is out of the ring, leaving only Pat Cross with Justin Seville. Hammer and Whitaker exit to the apron as Seville levels Cross with several kicks to thighs, stumbling the big man. With the final one, Cross goes down and Seville clamps on a spinning toe hold!

BRIAN SHELZI

Look at this, Sammy! Shades of the Funk family! A great move to immobilize the leg of the big goof.

Markham and Stanton are both forced to get up on the apron as they get back into the match. Stanton begins cheering on Cross, telling him to fight through it. Seville lets go and leaps up, driving both feet into the leg causing Cross to howl in pain. The Snake pulls Big Alaska up and backs up toward his corner, Cross tries to fight him off but Seville reaches back and tags in Whitaker who comes in, grabs a hold of Cross and yanks him in the middle of the ring. Ol' Stonehands lifts him up...

ATOMIC DROP!

Cross falls to his knees in pain, Whitaker tags in Hammerstein. The American Monster comes in and immediately boots Cross in the back, knocking him to the mat. Hammer jumps into back mount and lifts Cross up into a camel clutch, but instead of gripping the head - he begins unleashing cross armed forearm smashes! Stanton is slapping the top turnbuckle hard, trying to rally fan support behind his partner and it seems to be working.

SAM HEWITT

Look at the power of Pat Cross - a two hundred and forty pound man on his back and he's rising to his feet!

Hammer tries to switch to a rear naked choke, but Cross grabs onto the top ropes and lunges forward!

THE TWO MEN CRACK HEADS!

Hammer goes down, Cross does too. Both sides are yelling for their respective man to roll out for the automatic tag. Hammerstein reaches up for a tag, then figures out what they're calling for and rolls out. Seville comes in, but so too does Bam Markham who decides it's Whacking Day for the Snake and force feeds him a big boot! Seville goes down! Markham yells at him to get up and when he does, Seville is yanked up into a fallaway slam. Markham throws him over while remaining on his feet, Carl Whitaker comes in and tries to unload a right hand, but Markham blocks it! Something falls out of Whitaker's hand as he does, catching Markham's eye. The Heritage Heavyweight Champion goozles Whitaker and backs him up into the corner, threatening him. Whitaker to his credit, despite being choked - has nothing but insults to give to the big man. Hammerstein slides in and tries to rescue his partner, but Stanton spins him around...

BLACK DOG!

The spinning back hand sends Hammerstein reeling and back out to the floor. With Whitaker isolated, Cross climbs back in and Stanton directs traffic. Markham hoists Whitaker onto his shoulders and starts toward the corner, but Whitaker slips out and pushes Markham into the corner. The big man stops himself and turns around, Whitaker ducks a flying knee from Cross and Big Alaska connects with the Heritage Heavyweight Champion instead!

BRIAN SHELZI

Way to go, big guy!

Stanton abandons Seville and tries to help Cross with Whitaker, but Hammerstein yanks the Scarlet Speedster out of the ring. Seville stumbles to his feet as Whitaker slams his right hand in Cross' jaw, the big man stumbles... right into a kick from Seville. He stuffs him between his legs and hoists him up...

Whitaker goes to the second rope...

SPIKE PILEDRIVER!

Stanton breaks loose as Seville covers.

2...

WHITAKER JUMPS ON STANTON!

Whitaker releases him and the WALL dips out, Stanton checks on Cross. Bam Markham recovers on the floor, hearing the WALL's music and angrily gets back inside the ring. Joe Stanton tries to stand up and reason with him, saying it was an accident. Cross is trying to get up, but is feeling the effects of the piledriver. Markham stands chest to chest with Stanton, the Guy in Shades doing his best to disarm the situation...

BUT HE GETS PIEFACED!

The WALL watches and laughs on the outside. Stanton comes back and begins to attack, stumbling the big man... but Markham's headbutt connects and Stanton falls between the ropes to the floor. Cross is yanked off of all fours and Markham heaves him up...

BAM BOMB!

The Heritage Heavyweight Champion's chest heaves as he stares down at Cross.

BRIAN SHELZI

So much for Buchanan's idea, huh? Didn't I say it wouldn't work?

SAM HEWITT

I wo-

Markham starts to peel Cross off the mat, but the regional fighters rush out - Chuck Cooper, Paulie Rod and Lynx. Markham looks poised to fight them off, but shakes his head and throws Cross back down and exits the ring.

SAM HEWITT

Thankfully that situation looks to have been diffused, Joe Stanton's in there now too again. Fans, we're going to get this sorted out a bit and come back with our World's title main event! Don't go away!

BECKY CHANDE
“I am standing here backstage with Matt Pulver. Now, Matt, in tonight’s main event we will see AJ Knight defend the King of Lions Championship against Alexander Irvine in a Lumberjack match. You and AJ have had a complicated relationship over the past year, but you seem to have put your differences aside lately. Will you be one of his lumberjacks?”

The camera zooms out to reveal Matt Pulver standing next to Becky, doing some light stretching, focused look on his face as he listens to Lion’s Road’s resident reporter.

MATT PULVER
“I don’t know. I asked them not to tell me until the match starts. I was planning to come here either way, and I actually prefer not to know. I want to be prepared for anything. I have to be in that mindset that anything can happen. Because right now it can.”

He pauses briefly and gazes contemplatively into the distance.

MATT PULVER
“I have a shot at the King of Lions coming up soon, so I’ve been focusing a lot on training recently. Honing my skills, strengthening my weaknesses, expanding my repertoire, and evolving as a fighter in general. I’ve even gained a couple of pounds in muscle.”

He glances down at his bicep and does a little flex, although doing so jokingly, the slight change in his muscle mass is apparent. Becky plays along and raises an eyebrow, which causes Matt to chuckle before he continues.

MATT PULVER

“So with all that training, I’ve taken a few less bookings than usual and haven’t come to the shows I’m not booked on but that ends now.” 

All lightheartedness disappears from his face.

Because every single show for the past month, has been ruined in some capacity by Irvine and his goons. Everything from interfering in matches to outright assaulting people backstage. They spit on everything Lion’s Road stands for and I can’t just sit back and let it happen.”

His expression has almost turned to one of disgust now, but he pauses for a moment and continues.

MATT PULVER
“I could easily just hang back, focus on my training, and wait for my title shot. But what would be the point in that? I don’t want to be the King of a Kingdom in shambles. And if I don’t fight with all my might to save this company, then I certainly don’t deserve to be its champion. So I will gladly be in AJ’s corner if he wants to. I may not agree with everything he does, but that doesn’t matter. He may not be the perfect King, but when the Kingdom is in peril, I will pick up my weapon and fight by his side.”

Complete solemnity covers his face and his eyes pierce into the camera with intent.

MATT PULVER

He gives one last glance of earnest determination to the camera and gives Becky a nod, before exiting the frame.

She smiles nervously as Irvine smirks reaches slowly in her direction and takes both the mic and her hand in his, pulling them both closer to his lips.

I do Becky, and unlike your personal stalker AJ Knight, I’m going to keep it real short and sweet.

Irvine’s smirk disappears from his face and he holds up his other hand and extends index finger.

Lion’s Road fucked ya.

Irvine release the microphone as he looks into the camera, gives us all a wink, and swaggers towards the ring. Leaving Becky standing with her jaw dropped, and a twinkle in her eye.

Cutlass turns over into side control, Irvine immediately grabs the left arm again... and holds it up as he bucks his hips a few times, then brings his legs up... bending himself nearly in half...

HE GRABS CUTLASS' LEFT ARM WITH HIS LEGS AND SPRINGS FORWARD!

CUTLASS IS SWEPT ONTO HIS BACK! IRVINE HAS CONTROL OF THE RIGHT ARM NOW TOO!

SAM HEWITT
It looks like an octopus hold, a back crucifix! Irvine has Cutlass completely restrained!

Irvine uses his free hand to pound Cutlass right in the solar plexus! Cutlass struggles, Irvine fires off a few shots to the face...

Cutlass has nowhere to go!

Irvine slaps his right hand onto his left arm and leans back, throwing his left leg over Cutlass' head...

The London, Ontario crowd goes silent then pops as they begin to take in what just happened. Alexander Irvine lets go and tries to get up, but falls onto all fours. Cutlass lays on his back, looking up at the lights. Wes Chubbman storms the ring, jumping up and down... he grabs Irvine but gets shoved by the Wolf! Chubbman applauds anyway!

APRIL 26th - TORONTO, ONTARIO

SECOND ANNIVERSARY SPECTACULAR

WORLD'S HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH

Edwards grabs at the ropes, but AJ yanks him away just as he closes in on them! Edwards claws at the mat, trying to pull himself forward and manages to do so little by little. AJ can't hold on much longer and lets go just as Edwards is about to grab the ropes. He pulls Edwards up in a rear waist lock and grabs his wrist... and transitions him around with a short arm...

SLAP!?

YES! THE HOLY OUCH!

The sweat flies off of Edwards as he falls to his knees, AJ breathes heavily as Edwards is kneeling before him - seemingly loopy from the shot. AJ grabs him up...

KNIGHTFALL DDT!

Edwards hits the mat with a thud, AJ lays motionless on his back for what feels like an eternity.

He turns onto his side, slowly.

DRAPES AN ARM ACROSS EDWARDS' CHEST!

Knight and Irvine stand inside the ring. On one side of the ring, Hammerstein, Whitaker and Seville stand guard. On the other, Joe Stanton, Ben Chrenshaw and Matt Pulver. On the adjacent side to each of them are Chuck Cooper, Paulie Rod and Lynx. David Troy strolls to ringside, paying no mind to the glares he receives from the WALL. He walks to the Chrenshaw/Stanton/Pulver side and decides to turn around, Bam Markham now stands between the two sides. The two exchange eye contact, Troy then folds his arms and stands next to the Heritage Heavyweight Champion, who continues staring... but then smirks before turning his attention back to the ring.

SAM HEWITT

Eleven men surround the ring, three will be inside - AJ Knight, Alexander Irvine and referee Cordell Garner. Standard rules apply inside the squared circle, the lumberjacks are only there to tos--

Ladies and gentlemen, here to make the special prematch declaration for this World's Heavyweight title bout is Great Lakes wrestling legend, Teddy Davis!

Davis steps forward and reads from his card as Rossen holds the microphone.

It is here tonight in Chicago, Illinois that reigning champion AJ Knight looks to make his third defense of the King of Lions World's Heavyweight Championship against a man who has done it all in Lion's Road, former champion Alexander Irvine. Tonight, several men will stand guard at ringside to keep these two warriors contained to the ring as they vie for the richest prize in our sport and the highest honour in all of Lion's Road! May the best man win!

The Chicago crowd gets loud with duelling chants as Davis shakes hands with both his fellow Original Generation member, Irvine and the World's Champion AJ Knight.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is your main event of the evening! It is to be fought over a thirty minute time limit with one fall, one submission or a knockout to decide the winner and it is for the King of Lions World's Championship. It will be fought under Lumberjack rules meaning that there are several fighters stationed around ringside, their job is to stand guard outside the ring and ensure that neither fighter is able to leave the ring. If they do, the fighters at ringside are to throw the man back in. Introducing the challenger... fighting out of Keokuk, Iowa! He weighed in this morning at two hundred and thirty pounds! He is the first ever Triple Crown winner in Lion's Road, the man who ended Julian Cutlass' historic reign and the General of the WALL. Ladies and gentlemen - ALEXANDER IRVINE!

The WALL members at ringside applaud him and the crowd gives him a mixed reaction. Several shots of fans with WALL shirts and hats, even a larger banner with MAKE LION'S ROAD GREAT AGAIN can be seen in the wide shot. Irvine steps forward, removing his hoodie before he shadow boxes in the corner.

BRADY ROSSEN

Introducing the champion... fighting out of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania! He weighed in this morning at two hundred and twenty pounds! He is the 2018 Laurentide Cup winne-

AJ steps forward, whispering something in Brady's ear.

BRADY ROSSEN

...um, the man who sent James Edwards crying back to Kentucky, the ace of Lion's Road. Ladies and gentlemen the World's Heavyweight Champion - AJ KNIGHT!

AJ steps forward, raising his title high. Billy Danielson gives him a golf clap from the front row. AJ turns and says something...

BRADY ROSSEN

Your referee for this bout is Cordell Garner!

Garner checks over Irvine, then AJ before retrieving the belt and holding it up high.

OFFICIAL STAT LINE

The only time AJ Knight and Alexander Irvine have met in non tag team action (excluding battle royals) prior to tonight was November 17th, 2016 in Marquette, Michigan which was a Triangle match also featuring Emperor Ian. Knight won by pinning Ian.

The bell sounds, the fans are on their feet as AJ and Irvine circle around. AJ tries to lock-up, but Irvine batters him with several forearms to the side of the head. He doubles the champion over then tries to grab a clinch, but AJ breaks free and lets loose with some shots to the midsection. Irvine drops to a knee...

LEAPING ENZUIGIRI!

The champion's kick to the back of the head sends his challenger down, rolling out of the ring. The fans break into a frenzy as Chrenshaw, Pulver and Stanton grab him and shove him ring back in, the WALL tries to rush to his aide but he's already back in by the time they get there - the geek squad gets between them and Chrenshaw/Pulver/Stanton and the WALL finally retreats after some shoving. Irvine leans over the ropes and swings at Chrenshaw who chuckles as AJ grabs his challenger, spins him around and forearms him! Irvine is wobbled by the shot... AJ spins around and nails a rolling elbow strike that sends Irvine down again and out to the geek side. Cooper, Rod and Lynx try to push him back in, but the WALL does a decent job of preventing them until Chrenshaw, Stanton and Pulver come around the corner. The WALL points their fingers at them, threatening violence if they get in their way. AJ pushes Irvine into the ropes as he gets up, shooting him off! On the return, a big atomic drop! Irvine hobbles around in pain, falling to his knees. AJ holds his hand up, looking to the fans as they come alive. The World's Champion is then headbutted in the midsection as Irvine dives at the distracted champion.

BRIAN SHELZI

Sure, you can become a World's Champion at twenty two years old. That says you have talent and skill, but the experience comes with age and AJ Knight just took his eyes off the ball. You know who was thinking there? Alexander Irvine! He took advantage of AJ goofing off like a champion. Hmm, I wonder why...

SAM HEWITT

There's a dynamic I hadn't really considered at play here, Brian. The WALL are typically divided up because of the Laurentide Athletic Commission's rule that a fighter can only have one second at ringside, but obviously the lumberjack match allows the other three out there. I'm not sure how big an advantage that works out to when you have at least six others out there to combat their tactics. As for Markham and Troy... I think they're just content getting the second paycheck.

AJ goes down onto all fours from the headbutt, Irvine gets up and drills his knee into the side of the champion's head. AJ goes rolling across the mat toward the ropes and the challenger grabs the middle rope and uses it for balance as he presses his knee into AJ's head. The World's Champion yells in pain, Garner begins a five count... Irvine breaks at four and backs up. AJ tries to shake out the cobwebs as the WALL taunts him from the outside. Alexander Irvine walks over, pulls AJ up and tries to Irish whip him but gets reversed. The Unnatural is sent into the corner as the AJ fans come alive! The Champion darts in, but eats a big knee to the face! AJ stumbles backwards and falls to his knees, Irvine struts out from the corner and grabs him by the ears and throws him out onto the WALL side of the ring as Garner issues him a yellow card.

BRADY ROSSEN

Alexander Irvine has been issued a yellow card for throwing his opponent out of the ring - his first public warning!

The WALL fans boo.

SAM HEWITT

Standard rules still apply in this match - it's traditional rules except for the fact that you have lumberjacks outside the ring. Now, obviously some cheap shots are going to happen but that's why there eleven men out there, so to discourage that kind of behaviour.

BRIAN SHELZI

Good luck with that. I've been in a few lumberjack matches in my day and it always winds up the same.

The WALL try to cheap shot AJ before the other lumberjacks can reach them, leading to a mini scuffle. AJ tries to claw his way back inside, but Hammerstein has got his ankle. AJ rolls onto his back and hoofs Hammer in the face, sending him backwards into a crowd of lumberjacks. AJ crawls back inside, but Alexander Irvine greets him with an elbow! AJ tries to fight to his feet, but Irvine grabs him in a front waist hold and belly to belly suplexes him! AJ lands hard but staggers back to his feet, Irvine kicks him in the midsection and delivers another elbow that sends the World's Champion down and to the Geek Squad side. Cooper and Lynx shove him back inside as the WALL and Chrenshaw, Pulver & Stanton all try to congregate on that side. Irvine pulls AJ into the ring, then turns his attention to the lumberjacks - kicking Chrenshaw in the shoulder through the ropes. Chrenshaw looks up at him, Irvine smiles and holds his arms out telling his old partner to "Watch this!" before turning around. He grabs AJ up off the mat and brings him to the ropes where be begins rubbing his forehead all across it, then uses his elbow to push the back of the head down onto it even more. Irvine quickly turns it into a clinch, then blasts AJ with a knee. A sickening thud rings out, AJ can be heard groaning as he covers his face - blood coming through his fingers.

Somebody get this kid a tissue - we've got a nose bleed!

SAM HEWITT

We're going back about a year and a half with this one, but Ben Chrenshaw suffered a broken nose at the hands of James Edwards during their fight for the Iron Championship, forcing him to wear a protective mask. By what Irvine told Chrenshaw, I'd be safe to say that this was definitely an intentional shot to try and break AJ's nose.

BRIAN SHELZI

And imagine that, Sammy. You're the mentor and tag team partner to this great kid and you have to stand there and watch it - helpless.

Irvine looks at his knee, wipes the blood with his hand and LICKS IT! The crowd groans, but they have even more reason to when Irvine spits it in Chrenshaw's face! The Crippler has a brief moment of disbelief before he slowly mounts the apron, Irvine beckons him in - knowing that a disqualification will still allow him to become champion. Pulver grabs Chrenshaw and tries to pull him down, talking perfect sense the entire time. Chrenshaw finally relents, but he doesn't take his eyes off Irvine. Irvine turns around and briefly sees the bloody face of AJ, fighting off Garner's attempts to pull him away so Dr. Pierson can look at it. AJ blasts Irvine with repeated elbows, knocking him against the ropes. He grabs his wrist and whips him across, AJ connects on the rebound for a superkick! Irvine teeters over and AJ falls to his knees and crawls toward the corner where Chuck Cooper hands him a towel. AJ wipes his face, pressing it to his nose briefly before getting back up and calling for the Templar Stretch. He grabs Irvine's arm with his challenger on both knees, Irvine gets up and starts trying to buck him off with jerky movements. Finally, Irvine dives between the ropes - AJ falls out to the apron and Chrenshaw pops Irvine with a right hand! The crowd loves it! Irvine falls back into the middle of the ring as the WALL tries to pummel AJ before being sent off by the others. Markham and Troy are still neutral with Troy sitting on a chair at ringside and Markham standing calmly.

SAM HEWITT

Still no movement from Markham or Troy... I don't even think they've spoken to each other.

AJ is sent back in, Irvine is collecting himself on the mat. The Unnatural stumbles to his feet and grabs AJ in a clinch, trying for a knee - it's blocked. He tries again - blocked again. AJ delivers a fireman's carry that sends Irvine to the mat. Irvine manages to finagle an arm and slaps on an armbar! AJ thrashes, trying to find the ropes with his feet...

AND DOES!

Irvine waits 'til four to let go. AJ goes to roll toward the ropes for protection, but the frothy mouths of the WALL await him. Irvine yanks him up to his feet, again trying to isolate the arm but AJ cracks him with several punches and goes behind. He grabs Irvine's arm and spins him out...

HOLY OU-NO!

Irvine headbutts him!

AJ falls against the ropes, bloodied up badly. Irvine quickly drags his thumb across his throat and marches forward, he grabs Knight in a front chancery and pulls him forward. AJ slips out, countering it into a front chancery of his own.

IRVINE DUMPS HIM ON HIS HEAD!

The Unnatural rolls onto his stomach, then up to his knees as AJ struggles to figure out where he is. The champion gets to his knees, Irvine stalks his prey...

RUNNING ELBOW SMASH!

MISSES!

AJ ducks it last second, Irvine collides with the corner turnbuckles!

SCHOOL BOY ROLL-UP!

1...

...

2...

...

All hell breaks loose at ringside, the WALL fighting everyone. AJ lays on his back, looking up at the lights - his vision no doubt clouded by his bloody nose.

Hey AJ, I'm real happy for you, and I'mma let you finish, but everyone here knows that you are not really the future... I AM!

Billy Danielson hops the rail, shoving Chuck Cooper forward into the mass of humanity at ringside.

BILLY DANIELSON

And whenever Nelson decides to stop being so, and pay me what I'm worth I'll prove it!

AJ sits up as Danielson climbs inside the ring, but Matt Pulver hops inside and yanks the microphone from Danielson.

MATT PULVER

You sit down! I'm tired of waiting for my turn, I earned it two months ago! No more, I waited through the Laurentide Cup, I waited for GRIM and I waited for him...

He points to Irvine.

MATT PULVER

I am not about to wait behind YOUR ego and these silly contract negotiations. You want a fight? You want a signature on that dotted line? I'm right here!

Danielson tilts his head, laughing like he's Nick Young and gets in Pulver's face. The two trade inaudible words before AJ's bloody face emerges between them, he sneers as he holds his title up. He pours a bottle of water over the face plate and uses Danielson's shirt to wipe it. Danielson's smile disappears, Pulver grins though.

CHICAGO BLACKOUT!

Danielson's knee sends the World's Champion down to the mat. Pulver tries to grab him, but the GOAT rolls out to the floor and flips the bird before hopping the rail. Pulver notices the World's Heavyweight title at his feet, he reaches down to pick it up and stares deeply into it.

PULVER IS STRUCK FROM BEHIND!

Alexander Irvine stands over top of him, then plants his knee in Pulver's back as he snatches the belt from his grasp. He looks at the clean face plate, then at AJ... and exits the ring. He watches his men battling at ringside and hops down, but bumps into...

DAVID TROY

Troy looks at Irvine, then the belt. Irvine chest bumps him, but Troy stands his guard. Bam Markham appears behind Troy and the stoic Irvine nods, beginning to back up. Security has broken up the melee at ringside, so now the WALL all walk past Irvine and get between him and Troy and Markham. Irvine takes this opportunity to hop the rail himself, then whistles for his men. AJ Knight comes to inside the ring and goes to grab his belt...

but it's not there.

He sees Irvine holding it up in the crowd, scrambles to his feet - jumping out of the ring and over the rail.
