BRIEF HISTORY -
Henderson is a third-generation professional wrestler; his grandfather Ryan "The Hammer" Henderson and Henderson's father Michael Henderson Sr. both competed in the professional wrestling industry. Michael's two brothers, Colby Henderson and Jack "Nero" Henderson also competed in the professional wrestling industry. Henderson is widely regarded as one of the most athletically gifted wrestlers in the world as well as one of the most innovative when it comes to his offense. Henderson has held a total of eight championships in his career.
Henderson would begin his wrestling career with Xtreme Wrestling Organization (xWo) and would capture the xWo North American Championship less than a month later, Henderson would hold the title for two weeks before being released from his contract.
After re-signing with the xWo in 2010 Henderson joined the Revenge brand and was in line for a push but the idea was scrapped and Henderson started a losing streak which got to three losses in a row. Following the three losses, Henderson received a big push and went on to capture the X Division Championship for the first time and would begin a winning streak as well as an un-pinned streak. Henderson would go on to hold the X Division Championship until it's deactivation making him the last X Division Champion. Henderson would be named the new Madness Champion following the deactivation of the X Division Championship. Following this Henderson began an arrogant rich kid gimmick and re-activated the Million Dollar Championship, becoming a double champion. In late September Henderson would take some time off to heal a knee injury he suffered at the end of the summer and had been working through.
Henderson ended up taking the next two years off from wrestling to spend time with his family as well as to pursue other ventures. Henderson would make his return to wrestling by signing a contract with World Elite Wrestling in July 2013. In 2014, xWo announced that there would be a reunion show and Henderson himself confirmed he would be apart of it. It was later announced that xWo was making a complete comeback and Henderson would revealed he was going to split his time between xWo and WEW. Beginning in September 2017, Henderson signed a contract with CWC – Championship Wrestling Coalition and initially debuted in their Pacific Northwest (PNW) territory, before being released and later moved to Sentinel Wrestling Alliance (SWA) and then being moved again this time to Sixth City Pro (SCP) which operates out of Cleveland, Ohio - where Henderson grew up. Henderson would move territories for the fourth time moving from SCP to CWC Japan: Legacy.
PREVIOUS INJURIES -
Torn MCL (out of action for over 6 months / 2010)
STRENGTHS/WEAKNESSES -
Strengths:
- Agility, Athleticism and Quickness: Henderson is known to be very agile and athletic, some saying one of the most athletic in the business. Henderson can use his speed to his advantage and hit you with a move from basically out of nowhere, he's also able to use his athleticism to both counter and dodge what could end up being a fatal blow that could spell the end of the match if connected.
- Experience: Henderson has been wrestling for over ten years and uses that experience to his advantage, despite him being only 30 years old. He can exploit a mistake made by someone with less experience then him and capitalize on it.
- Durability, Resiliency and Stamina: Henderson is known for his conditioning and can go the extra mile when it comes to matches. While his opponent could be getting physically exhausted, Henderson can exploit and take advantage of that. Henderson is also very resilient and can dig down deep inside of him to keep on going especially when properly motivated (ie. title matches, headlining matches).
Weaknesses:
- Risk-taker: While Henderson's agility and athleticism is one of his strengths, it can also be a weakness as well. Henderson is known for taking risks and sometimes the risk may not pay off and can very well cost Henderson the match.
- Arrogance: While Henderson is very respectful towards opponents that show it to him in return, Henderson does have his moments where he can have a bit of an ego and show to be a little arrogant. This can also cost him big time if he misreads a situation due to him arrogantly thinking that he has the match in the bag and everything is going for him.
- Pride and Moral Code: Henderson refuses to cheat as he prides himself on having a moral code and doesn't want to win that way. He wants to earn every win and get the job done on his own so there's no excuses. This could cost Henderson as he could very well face an opponent who is willing to do whatever it takes to win and whom is willing to cheat in order to beat him.
SPORTSMANSHIP -
Ryan shows sportsmanship to those that have earned it from him and show it to him in return. If Henderson is in the ring with someone who doesn't he'll jaw jack with them. After matches, Henderson tends to always show sportsmanship in victory or defeat, often offering a handshake especially if it ends up being a hard fought match.
FIGHTING STYLE -
Henderson's is a hybrid style. He's known for his high flying and risk taking maneuvers as well as his innovative style. But he has also shown that he can mat wrestle as well as brawl with the best of them. He heavily relies on his high flying as well as his innovative style but if need be can switch gears if facing a mat technician. He's also known to dabble in a little Submission style wrestling when he needs to.
