FIGHTER INFORMATION
REAL NAME - Sen Oka
STAGE NAME - Sen Oka
NICKNAME(S) - Mighty Python/Kyodaina Paison
HEIGHT & WEIGHT - 6'2" / 202 lbs.
DATE OF BIRTH - January 5th, 1987
PLACE OF BIRTH - Tokyo, Japan
FIGHTS OUT OF - Tokyo, Japan
YEAR OF DEBUT - MMA - 2006-current (on indefinite hiatus due to LR gig), Pro wrestling (2014-current)
ALIGNMENT - A solid two. Garners heat and openly bashes the sport, proclaiming his MMA knowledge as superior to all.
PERSONALITY - Outright awful shithead. Has been known to needlessly injure opponents, act stoic and pay no mind to his opponents (Tetsuya Naito-style), all because he feels he can. He largely got away with it in MMA and feels no need to change that for wrestling.
EQUIPMENT - Tall and somewhat slender/lean frame. Typically wrestles in pants-length tights and the occasional rashguard with ankle tape (no boots). Will wear tights with somewhat unusually bright colors, but that's it. Example below:
CASUAL ATTIRE - Wears glasses (typically some hipster-looking white glasses shit), various nondescript t-shirts and jackets housing the "TO Top Team" label (his MMA camp), baseball caps.
WALKOUT ATTIRE - Same as ring attire with maybe a vintage TO Top Team shirt/hoodie
WALKOUT THEME - "Fire" by Scooter.
ALLIES/RIVALS -
Possible rival - David Troy doesn't like him for things Oka has said during Max-J's Sword of Lite (specifically, "your sport is bullshit.")
Ally - Go Gensei. Former student, taught Oka the art of shootfighting and helped to make him a Class A-ranked Shooto practitioner. Would fall on a sword for Go.
BRIEF HISTORY - The name Sen Oka is familiar to many fans of the Japanese MMA scene. The grappling expert that is as boisterous as he is talented, Oka boasts a black belt in both Judo and BJJ, as well as being ranked A-Class Shoot Wrestler trained under "The Ghost" Go Gensei. Known for his aloof attitude and his perceived lack of care for his opponents, it didn't take long for Oka to become a controversial figure in the sport. Despite this, he has amassed multiple championships in two different weight classes.
Eventually that buzz led to him crossing over into the sport of professional wrestling in 2014, taking a stance that he could beat any "pretend fighter" as he liked to say. Oka became a big draw across smaller promotions in Japan (and even a few American excursions) for a series of super fights on top pro wrestling cards until the opportunity came for him to join Max-Japan.
After garnering a significant buzz in the 2018 Sword of Lite GP for both his performances and (of course) often-controversial comments, Lion's Road reached out and offered the MMA star a special per-appearance deal.
And here he is now.
PREVIOUS INJURIES - Fractured left ulna, broken nose, broken right elbow. Considering his attitude, it's a wonder he hasn't suffered more.
STRENGTHS/WEAKNESSES -
Strengths:
1. Well-rounded. Lean, but quick. Tall, but slender. He can grapple, submit and out-strike most opponents and has a good body type (think Zack Sabre Jr-ish tackling bigger wrestlers) to deal with even the heavier stars of LR.
2. Right Knee of God. A significant weapon in his arsenal. Doesn't set it up or taunt or play to the crowd. OUTTANOWHERE move that can befall most opponents (or God forbid, stun them for a submission)
3. Intense focus. Doesn't fight like a regular wrestler, per se. Doesn't play to the crowd during matches. He's focused and wants to WIN. THEN he will talk all the shit.
Weaknesses:
1. His shitty attitude. His biggest one. Thinks at times that he might be truly untouchable. Doesn't hesitate to rile up opponents to try and throw them off their game. Pretty sure this will come back to bite him.
2. Size. He can dish out a lot of punishment with his skills, but his chin is relatively untested. Would probably die if battered with a few power moves.
3. Green in pro-wrestling matters. Meaning things like flash pins may catch him off-guard, may underestimate an opponent and get caught by surprise if he isn't careful.
SPORTSMANSHIP - Treats almost all other "wrestlers" like dirt he can't be bothered with. Talks lots and lots of trash and makes no apologies for anything said. Known for excessive over-the-top celebrations after victories. No shaking hands unless an opponent wants his arm broken.
FIGHTING STYLE -
MMA-influenced grappling, almost a pure grappler/submissionist excelling in takedowns, chokes, targeted strikes and the odd suplex. Doesn't bother playing into slugfests and will try and avoid these in favor of submissions or KO strikes. He can HIT like a motherfucker, but he's not going to willingly stand and bang, opting instead to take an opening if one is given. "Fighting Spirit" is a bullshit philosophy to him.
Known as The Mighty Python for his tall and lean frame, using this great reach to his benefit for submissions and KO blows. No high flying or anything that will make him leave his feet. Think a Zack Sabre Jr. type if his schtick were MMA and not the graps.
SIGNATURE MOVES -
Python's Maw (Ninja Choke)
Constrictor (Matt Riddle's Bromission, complete with Elbows)
Right Knee of God (Surprise knee strike to the head - dubbed sk after earning a KO victory over Max-J competitor Lynx during Sword of Lite)
FAVOURITE MOVES -
1. General limb wrenching
2. Palm Strikes/Standing Kicks (his only big strikes. Will use Palm Strikes up close and kicks to stun or target limbs)
3. Double Foot Stomp (never a diving version, will also target limbs or ribs with this)
4. Various leg/arm-based takedowns (Single/Double leg, ankle picks, Armbar takedowns, Fireman's Carry, etc)
5. Ipponzei (Rolling Over The Shoulder Judo Toss)
6. Triangle/Arm Triangle Choke
7. Rear Choke
8. Rolling Heel Hook
9. Kicks/elbows/knees from the clinch, aimed at legs and body
10. Various manners of Judo-influenced takedowns
COUNTER MOVES -
1. Osoto Gari (Snap STO - will use as impact move, can segue into the Constrictor)
2. Flying Armbar (usually counter to Lariats, etc. - can get a tapout with this)
3. Judo Head Toss (busts this out against running opponents, dumps them on their head and can catch them with a roll-up pin)
TAUNTS -
-Literally running a victory lap around the ring after a win
-No taunts DURING matches, but he'll talk all the fucking smack before and after.
