Folks, we have two breaking news updates.
Let's get to it:
MAJOR SHAKE UP TO BOM-BA-YE III card
Earlier today, beat reporter Solomon Bentley picked up the scoop that Wes Chubbman and GM Masaaki Sano were spotted leaving a meeting in downtown Tokyo with none other than Takeo Yoshida, the former chairperson and president of Shining Road Pro-Wrestling. It was a mere hours later that the three men took the stage and made several announcements.
First, AJ Knight would be scheduled to face off against GRIM after their conflict at the MAX-J show on 12/23 in singles competition. Sano said that he would like to see some resolution to the conflict between the two men before the year is done and has declared the match fought under “grudge match” rules, ensuring a winner by either pinfall, submission, or referee stoppage. Mushigahara will take AJ’s place in the Poker scramble.
Secondly, in a major shakeup, the three men announced they would be dissolving the tag team match between Cutlass and Edwards vs. Irvine and Chrenshaw. In honor of Shining Road’s emphasis on shootfighting, as well as BLACK Lion’s Road’s appreciation for diverse combat sports, three major shootfighting events were added to the card.
(1) Ben Chrenshaw, the 2nd grand slam champion in Lion’s Road history and former MAX Heavyweight Champion, will go up against KOSUKE, the Shining Road and MAX-J veteran most famous for winning an MMA rules fight on the joint FUSION supercard in Madison Square Garden.
(2) Mike Musket will attempt his V1 defense of the All-Japan Imperial Championship against challenger James Edwards, with the rules being fought under submission rules.
The title, commissioned by the All-Japan Sports and Wrestling Commission (AJSWC) was Shining Road’s top belt during its brief run, typically contested under shootfighting rules. Mike Musket defeated Makoto Ueno to win the belt in December 2017, but with the dissolution of Shining Road, the belt remained in his possession but never defended. These two matches will serve to honor the influence of Shining Road on the pro-wrestling landscape.
(3) Lastly, in an epic twist, we will see Julian Cutlass vs. Alexander Irvine one more time. Yes, "World War VI" will occur on 12/31 and this time the two men will fight under MMA rules. Cutlass has a 2-0 record in kickboxing during his Shining Road stint while Irvine went 1-0 under boxing rules and Irvine is a former MMA world champion himself early on in his career.
Both members of the Original Generation, Cutlass and Irvine are the two most decorated fighters in the history of Lion’s Road Pro-Wrestling, with Cutlass having won seven recognized championships1 and Irvine winning six belts2. These two fought in singles competition on BOM-BA-YE I when Cutlass defended the All-Ontario Championship in a 60-minute time limit draw. Almost a year later, Irvine defeated Cutlass for the World’s Heavyweight Championship and ended his historic title reign at 448 days. This match will be officially designated as a co-main event to the evening’s MAX Heavyweight Championship.
11st gen. King of Lions Heavyweight Crown, King of Lions Tag Crown, All-Ontario Heavyweight Championship, Canadian Heavyweight Championship, World’s Heavyweight Championship, World Tag Team Championship, Iron Championship
2MLWA World Heavyweight Championship, World’s Heavyweight Championship, 2xWorld Tag Team Championship, Heritage Heavyweight Championship, Heritage Tag Team Championship
Here is the updated card and without a doubt the most star-studded day of the year!

Wes Chubbman to drop a BOMBSHELL on New Year’s Day?!
Rumor has it that Wes Chubbman has some major plans in the works.
At the press conference, Solomon Bentley pressed him on the subject, asking him about his future role in pro-wrestling. He grinned and said that he had been hard at work to put together his next venture. When asked whether it would involve Lion’s Road, BLACK Lion’s Road, MAX-J, or even Shining Road, he said he could not disconfirm any of those rumors. When pressed further as to what it would look like, he would only say that it would be on an “all-world encompassing” scale and that we would find out on New Year’s Day.
Folks, there’s been a lot of talking about companies going under and farewell messages everywhere you look. But the fog is thick around these parts regarding the future. I wouldn’t go selling any stock just yet, as it’s hard to say just what will emerge from these strange times!
