Welcome to PWGP “CHARGE”
We go straight to our host, El Hombre Loco Enmascarado (aka That Masked Guy, Loco). He is joined this week by Nick Christoulos, who we’re told from now on he well be spitting his time between the commentary station and his normal ring announcing duties. They welcome us to PWGP’s First Year Anniversary Show, live from the PWGP Exhibition Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
The crowd and excited for tonight’s action and our commentary team quickly go over tonight’s matches. The focus of tonight’s program will focus around the PWGP Anniversary Cup, with four qualifying matches to determine who will face off in a ladder match, with the Cup hanging high above the ring. No points well be won or lost during these Cup matches, this is strictly for the glory of the competition (and I’m not actually certain about some of the “points” at this time). We’ll also see both the Wings of Icarus and the Television Titles defended. Zaros will make his second defence of the WoI in as many weeks, in a Triple Threat Match against Philly Cheese Snake and the former Goober the Gooker, Kurt Thomchuk in a Three Way Dance. Also, Sweet Daddy D will the defend the Television Title against former champion, Orville Newton; the winner of which will defend the title against another former champion, James Daniels next week. On top of all this, we’re told by Loco that BUAC Spokesman Robert Fredrick has been meeting with officials from both the BUAC and PWGP’s parent company, Buck U Productions, and will be joining us later in the program with a very special announcement.
Nick quickly leaves the commentary table to make the opening match introductions.
MATCH 1
PWGP Anniversary Cup Qualifying Match
Vod
(w/ Gertrude Quest)
vs
True North Ant
(Referee: Mark Lindsey)
As the match starts, it’s explained to us the reason why no of the other members of Surf ‘n Turf or Philly Cheese Snake are ringside is because the BUAC has banned anyone from accompanying the signed combatants to the ring other than licensed managers and advocates. This still puts TNA at a bit of a disadvantage, as he still needs to contend with the always dangerous Gertrude Quest at ringside.
Both TNA and Vod are the heaviest members of their respective factions and Christoulos describes this match as being a “hoss fight”, with references to departed legend’s favourite line about “the unstoppable force meets the immovable object.” In the early goings of the match we’re reminded of just how equal in both size and strength these two are. Neither man is able to get the advantage, let alone move one another. It’s only when TNA pulls out a running drop kick that he’s able to gain control. The blow sends Vod out of the ring and he’s caught off guard when True North Ant follows up with a suicide gives that sends him into the barricade. TNA sends the sea monster back into the ring, but finds his path blocked by Quest. He ends up lifting her up and depositing her to the side, but the distraction has allowed Vod to recover and he pounces on TNA as he enters the ring. Vod would show off his amazing strength, repeatedly slamming TNA before grinding away with a side headlock. TNA would try to get to his feet, only to pull back down to the mat by his antennae, which Mark Lindsey sees and admonishes him for. Not that the sea monster seems to care, going back to his side head lock.
The tide starts to turn, no pun intended, when TNA once again gets to his feet. Vod tries to grab hi by the antennae again, but is reprimanded by Lindsey. This gives True North Ant the opportunity to hit an awe-inspiring side suplex. Both men slowly get to their feet following the move. TNA ducks a clothesline attempt from Vod and answers with one of his own. He picks up the rocked sea monster and slams him to the mat, following up with a lariat clothesline. TNA picks Vod up and goes for the Red River Plunge, but Quest jumps up on the ring apron and distract the ant long enough for Vod to counter with a back body drop. Vod whips TNA into the corner and charges in for a shoulder tackle. TNA side steps and Vod goes shoulder first into the post. True North Ant takes the opportunity to roll Vod up and secures the three count.
Winner: and advancing to the Anniversary Cup Ladder Match, True North Ant
True North Ant makes quick his escape as Land Shark and the Wings of Icarus Champion Zaros hit the ring. He celebrates in amongst the fans, leaving Loco and Christoulos to wonder if his tag team partner, Philly Cheese Snake, will be able to repeat what we’ve just seen later in the evening when he faces Zaros and Thomchuk for the WoI Title. TNA makes his way to the backstage area through the crowd, leaving Surf ‘n Turf to vent in the ring.

We go to the back, where we find The Guru entering the Exhibition Centre with The Family. He’s stopped by security, who informs them that only the PWGP Global Champion, The Technician is booked to compete tonight, with Brody and Kraken banned from the arena. We’re reminded that Krak ‘n Mack have essentially been working for PWGP without a contract due to their involvement with the Invading Army over the summer, and now that they are no longer International Tag Team Champions, they no longer have any right to appear at PWGP events. The former champions are visibly angry about this, but The Guru tries to calm them down, telling them this is only temporary and his lawyers are already putting the final touches on their new contracts as they speak. He gives Krak ‘n Mack the night off and promises them they will be back in action next week and heads would start rolling in regards to what was done to them last week. The former champions reluctantly take their leave, and The Guru and Tech are allowed to enter the building.

MATCH 2
PWGP Anniversary Cup Qualifying Match
Alan Hunter
vs
Vlars
(Referee: Jimmy Jive)
Christoulos and Loco remind us that these two feuded for well over a month earlier this year and time doesn’t appear to have healed the wounds between the two of them. Hunter offers to shake hands, but Valrs swats the hand away and slaps Hunter across the face. He follows up with a boot to the gut and a whip into the ropes. Hunter comes bouncing back with a flying forearm and nearly takes Vlar’s head off with a super kick, but the God of the Puke Bucket quickly rolls out of the ring and kicks the commentary station in frustration. He grabs his mop and tries to bring it into the ring, but Jive grabs it from him. Jive turns to throw it out of the ring, allowing Vlars the opportunity to rake Hunter’s eyes and toss him out of the ring. Loco wonder where this aggression is coming from and Loco suggests he’s been hearing unrest from Vlars and the other members of the Bash Brothers having not been able to win the 3 Kings Tournament last month.
Meanwhile, Vlars whips Hunter into the barricade. He tries to whip him again, this time into the ring post, but Hunter reverses and Vlars nearly crack his open on the unforgiving steel. Hunter rolls Vlars back into the ring, but the bald-headed warrior grabs him by the front of his pants and pulls him down, throat first across the middle rope. He drags Hunter into the middle of the ring and starts to ground and pound, yelling about how the Bash Bros should be the Kings. He sets Hunter up for the Puke Bucket Stunner, but Hunter reverses it into a backslide for a two count. Vlars rolls free but as he gets to his knees, Hunter catches him with a super kick. Hunter quickly ascends the top rope and connects with the Swanton. He covers Vlars and gets the three count.
Winner: and advancing to the Anniversary Cup Ladder Match, Alan Hunter
Hunter starts to celebrate, but Axel Moros hits the ring and attacks him from behind. The former Television Champion helps his tag team partner to his feet and the two of them begin to attack Hunter. Jimmy Jive tries to intervene, but James Daniels appears through the crowd and pulls his father out of the ring and kicks him below the belt. Back in the ring, Moros picks Hunter up and hits the Rolling Death Valley Driver and Vlars follows up with a Puke Bucket Stunner. Team B.A.D. departs from the ring, while Daniels stands over his fallen father on the arena floor, a cocky smile on his face.
***
Laurie Heeley tries to catch up with Moros and Vlars as they come through the curtain. Team B.A.D. just laugh and walk off. James Daniels comes through the curtain next, a smug look on his face. Heeley asks what he was thinking attacking a referee and Daniels states he’s sick and tired of his father trying to ruin his career. He reminds us that he is the only person to be both the first ever two time 24/7 Champion and a two time Television Champion, and next week he plans to make that a three times Television Champion.
Robert Fredrick enters, looking angry. He understands that Daniels doesn’t like the way Jive has officiated the matches he’s been in, but tonight he went to far. You do not lay your hands upon an official! He suspends Daniel from competing and informs him he’s being stripped of his Television Title rematch next week. Furthermore, in two weeks he’ll be competing against the man whom the BUAC has just reinstated to active competition, “High Five” Jimmy Jive. Daniels begins to protest, but Robert Fredrick calls for security and he’s kicked out of the building.
***
Back at ringside, we’re told by Loco that Alan Hunter returned to the back on his own, refusing medical attention. He is expected to still compete in tonight’s Anniversary Cup Ladder Match, but both Loco and Christoulos wonder if he’ll be even close to one hundred percent for that encounter.
MATCH 3
PWGP Anniversary Cup Qualifying Match
Axel Moros
vs
Thing Dos
(Referee: Eddie Tims)
As soon as the bell rings, Moros nearly takes Dos’s head off with a big boot. He lifts the masked man over his head and tosses him out of the ring, right on to the entrance ramp. Thing Uno tries to come down to the ring to check on his partner, but gets blindsided by Vlars, who tosses him off the side of the entrance ramp. Eddie Tims admonishes him to stay back, which he does. Meanwhile Moros rolls out of the ring and picks Thing Dos up. He lifts him above his head again and tosses him ribs first into the ring post. Moros walks over to Thing Uno, who is still down, and grabs him. He slams Uno on top of this partner before kicking him off of him. He pulls Dos up to his feet and rolls him into the ring. He quickly follows him and and lifting Dos up on to his shoulders hits the Rolling Death Valley Driver. He goes for the cover, but lift’s his opponent’s head up before the three count. Moros pulls Dos closer to the middle of the ring before ascending the top rope and hitting a diving headbutt. This time he goes for the cover and Tims administers a quick three count.
Winner: and advancing to the Anniversary Cup Ladder Match, Axel Moros
Loco and Christoulos are absolutely shocked at how quickly and viciously Moros put Thing Dos away, pointing out that Dos is a multiple time 24/7 Champion but never even got any offense from this new, angrier, Axel Moros. While they’re saying this, Vlars comes down to the ring and tosses Thing Dos into the ring. Team B.A.D. starts stomping both of the Things until The Big O runs down to the ring. The crowd starts cheering, believing he’s coming to the aid of his former Pollomania brethren. Instead he joins in on the beatdown and power bombs both Thing Uno and Dos, before leaving with the other members of the Bash Brothers.

In his office, Robert Fredrick is meeting with The Guru. They are reviewing some paperwork and Fredrick states it appears everything is in order and that Krak ‘n Mack will be reinstated for their PWGP International Tag Team Title rematch against the new champions, The Brute Squad, next week. Fredrick suggests that he would like to discuss another matter with The Guru, but notices the manager’s other client, Global Champion The Technician, entering and states that it will have to wait for another time.
Tech states he’s heard he’s competing in the last qualifying match tonight and wants to know if it’s BOB, because he wants to get his hands on his former alliance member. Robert Fredrick doubts that’s even true, but states they cannot even find BOB, or the Moondogs for that matter. Therefore, he’ll be facing off against the first ever PWGP Television Champion, Faititili instead. Tech seems pleased, perhaps even relieved, at this announcement and starts bragging about how he’s going to put Faititili away more quickly than we just saw Moros do to Things Dos. Robert Fredrick just shakes his head as the pair leaves his office and goes back to review the documentation in front of him one more time.

MATCH 4
PWGP Anniversary Cup Qualifying Match
The Technician
(PWGP Global Champion, w/ The Guru)
vs
Faititili
(Referee: Andrew Roller)
Loco points out that these two have a long history with one another, dating back to the second month of the company’s existence when Faititili inadvertently injured Tech. The two lock up and immediately Tech shows off his superior wrestling skills by catching Faititli in a rear waist lock and taking him to the mat. He slaps him across the back of the head before getting to his feet and stepping back. Faititili gets to his feet and the two lock up again, with Tech taking him down with a side headlock. This time the Samoan warrior is able to counter into a headscissors , but the Global Champion manages to wiggle free and reapplies the headlock. Faititli counters back into the head scissors and squeezes down hard. Tech is forced to reach for the ropes with his foot to force the break.
Both men get to their feet and Tech tries to catch Faititli off guard with a right hand. Faititli ducks and rebounds off the ropes. He catches the champ with a crossbody and goes for the cover, Tech manages to kick out right away but as he scrambles to his feet he gets taken down with a judo toss by Faititili, who follows up with an arm drag which he transitions into an armbar. Once again Tech is forced to reach for the ropes to cause the break.
A commotion draws everyone’s attention to the middle of the crowd. MLWA wrestlers Bryant Adam Thompson, The Agents of Pain, David Lee Sellers, Duke Womack and Paulie Rod, make their way down the aisle. Christoulos groans and states he knew we haven’t seen the last of these men. Security and member of the roster come running out to intercept the MLWA competitors and they chase the intruders out of the PWGP Exhibition Centre. This distraction though seems to be enough for Tech. He kicks the mat to load up his orthopedic boot and he kicks Faititili in the thigh. Faititili goes down, grasping his leg. Tech immediately goes after the injured knee and starts wearing it down with a spinning toe hold. Eventually he transitions it into the figure four leg lock and appears only moments away from getting the victory.
The Moondogs decide to come down to ringside and start arguing with The Guru, who finds himself without anyone to back him up. Faititli refuses to submit and appears about to pass out from the pain of the figure four, but Tech sees his manager in peril and releases the submission hold to go to his manager’s aide. He starts yelling at Buster and Runt, ordering them to leave The Guru alone. Andrew Roller rolls out of the ring to get between Tech and the Moondogs, ordering the champion back in the ring. Tech complies, but his attention isn’t on his opponent in the ring, or BOB, who had come through the crowd from the opposite side. BOB levels Tech with a big boot. Faititili climbs to his feet and motions for BOB to toss him in the air. The Green-Faced Goliath complies and tosses him high up and Faititli lands on top of Tech with a splash. BOB exits the ring and the Moondogs depart with him up the entrance ramp. Andrew Roller turns around to discover Tech down and Faititili covering him. He slides back in the ring and makes the three count.
Winner: and advancing to the Anniversary Cup Ladder Match, Faititili
Faititili exits as quickly as he can and celebrates with the fans. The Guru enters the ring and goes to check on Tech, who slowly sits up rubbing his sore jaw. He looks up at the stage where BOB and The Moondogs are standing and starts yelling threats at them. The wild trio waves at him before leaving and Christoulos proclaims that Tech was just outsmarted by the very three individuals he’s heard the champion calling morons.

Robert Fredrick appears on screen and sends greetings from both the BUAC and Buck U Productions, thanking everyone for their support over the past year. He announces that with the company’s first year anniversary that Buck U Productions and the BUAC have agreed on forming the PWGP Hall of Fame. He realizes that many will question why a company which has only existed a year can justify such a decision and this might be true, however, PWGP plans to use their Hall of Fame to honour those who paved the way for this company to exist. With that in mind, Robert Fredrick announces the first inductee into the what will be the PWGP Hall of Fame Class of 2019, “Big Bad” Paul Carlyle.
A video package showcases some of Carlyle’s career highlights. A Kentucky native, he grew up playing football which would eventually lead him to playing for several teams in the Canadian Football League, finding his greatest success as a member of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers as an offensive tackle. He would transition into wrestling, holding close to fifty titles during his career of close to thirty years of experience in the industry, which saw him wrestle around the world. At the height of his career, Carlyle walked away from a big time contract to go work for Prairie Wrestling Exchange, so he could stay close to his young family in his adopted home of Winnipeg. During his time in PWE he trained several wrestlers, including the 2018 3 Kings Tournament Winners, Alan Hunter, Sweet Daddy D and Easy E. When PWGP was founded, Carlyle seamlessly stepped into the role as commentator, calling many of the company’s biggest matches during its first six months before taking time off to have minor knee surgery done and returning to the ring for the 3 Kings Tournament along with Avalanche Adams and Jerry Apollo. It is PWGP’s great honour to welcome “Big Bad” Paul Carlyle to the PWGP Hall of Fame as its inaugural member.
Paul Carlyle appears on the stage inside the PWGP Exhibition Centre. Everyone stands to their feet and applauds as he takes a bow. The crowd starts duelling chants of “Hall of Fame!” and “You deserve it!”. He waves to the crowd and offers one last bow before returning to the back.

Prior to the next match, Laurie Heeley catches up with Kurt Thomchuk. She asks him about his recent transformation. Thomchuk states he just became tired of being considered a joke. As Goober the Gooker he made a lot of people laugh, but that took him nowhere. Wearing that stupid mask and costume limited his ability to compete in the ring and cost him a lot of money. That all changes now. He’s no longer a joke and he’s tired of masked idiots like Zaros and Philly Cheese Snake making a mockery of the Wings of Icarus Division. Tonight the jokes end when he becomes the WoI Champion. He walks off, leaving for the ring.

MATCH 5
PWGP Wings of Icarus Title Match
3 Way Dance
Zaros
(champion, w/ Gertrude Quest)
vs
Philly Cheese Snake
vs
Kurt Thomchuk
(Referee: Mark Lindsey)
Both men are so busy fighting they don’t notice Philly ascending the top rope. He hits a flying crossbody, taking both men down. He hits a series of arm drags on both men, before sending Thomchuk right into Zaros and the champion fall out of the ring. Philly goes for the Cobra Clutch but Thomchuk blocks it and spinning around, sends Philly shoulder first into the top turnbuckle. He grabs Philly from behind and locks in the Crossface Chicken Wing. Philly appears to be in trouble, but he gets his feet up on the ropes and pushes back. Thomchuk tries to maintain the submission hold but Philly lands on top of him and rolls through pinning Thomchuk’s shoulders to the mat and gets the three count.
Eliminated: Kurt Thomchuk
Thomchuk is absolutely shocked by what’s just happened. He attacks Philly from behind and locks on the Crossface Chicken Wing again. Mark Lindsey tries to get him to release the move but he won’t. The crowd cheers as True North Ant comes running in. Thomchuk sees him coming and release the hold. He scrambles from the ring with TNA at his heels and runs to the back. Meanwhile Zaros sees Philly down and slides into the ring. He climbs to the top rope and waits for Philly to rise, hitting Life Tree Down and goes for the cover to pick up the three count.
Winner: and STILL PWGP Wings of Icarus Champion, Zaros
Zaros slides out of the ring after the match and grabs his championship. Loco and Christoulos groan, stating the goblin has found yet another way to retain his title and wonder exactly what it’s going to take for there to be a clean finish to a Wings of Icarus Title Match. Zaros and Quest celebrate on the arena floor before heading to the back, while TNA and officials check on Philly.

MATCH 6
PWGP Television Title Match
Sweet Daddy D
(champion, 3 points)
Vs
Orville Newton
(0 points)
Before the match starts Sweet Daddy D and Orville Newton shake hands. They collar and elbow lock-up with SDD getting the advantage due to his height and weight advantage and pushes Newton back into the corner. Eddie Tims calls for the break and the Television Champion immediately backs away, hands in the air. He and Newton lock up a second time and SDD transitions into a standing armbar. Newton gets to the ropes and does a flip, his momentum turns the reverses the arm bar into an arm drag and he sends Sweet Daddy D to the mat. The champion quickly gets to his feet but Newton is ready and hits a second arm drag and locks in an arm bar of his own. Sweet Daddy D is able to get to his feet and tries to hip toss Newton, but the challenger maintains his grip and rolls the champion up for a near fall.
Both men get to their feet. They go to lock up, but Sweet Daddy D grabs Newton in a side headlock and takes him down. Newton tries to counter with a head-scissors, but the champion gets out of it and reapplies the headlock even harder. Newton finally has to wiggle his way closer to the edge of the ring and put a foot on the ropes to break the hold.
Both men get to their feet. Newton tries to catch the champion off guard with a running boot. Sweet Daddy D catches his foot and hits a dragon leg whip. He goes for the figure four leg lock, but Newton scrambles for the ropes. He kicks Sweet Daddy D off him and catches the champion off guard with a sling blade. He climbs to the top rope and goes for a flying double axe handle, but the champion catches him with a super kick. Sweet Daddy D quickly locks in the Sweetner and drags Newton into the middle of the ring. With nowhere to go, Newton quickly taps out.
Winner: and STILL PWGP Television Champion, Sweet Daddy D (5 points).
Following the match, Sweet Daddy D helps Newton to his feet and and the two of them shake hands. Newton raises the champion before leaving the ring to allow SDD to celebrate his first successful title defence.

MAIN EVENT
Match 7
Anniversary Cup Ladder Match
True North Ant
vs
Alan Hunter
vs
Axel Moros
vs
Faititli
Moros would take this moment to enter the ring and run over all three men as they tried to recover. He would send TNA shoulder first into the turnbuckle then picked Faititili above his head and tossed him clear into the first row. Moros tried to hit the Rolling Death Valley Driver on Hunter, but Alan wiggled free and caught the big man with a super kick to the jaw. Moros didn’t go down, so Alan hit a flying forearm, which staggered Moros again. Hunter went for a second forearm but Moros caught him and hit a Black Hole Slam. With all three of his opponents down, Moros rolled out of the ring and grabbed a ladder. He lifted it above his head to throw it into the ring, but TNA came charging across the ring and hit a suicide dive and the ladder crashed down on both of them. As they tried to free themselves from the ladder, Faititili and Hunter both got to their feet in the ring and hit stereo dives to both men on the floor.
Hunter and Faititili would team up to slide the ladder into the ring and set it up beneath the trophy hanging above the ring. Faititili tried to climb up the ladder, but Hunter pulled him back down. Hunter would try to climb it now but Faititili would return the favor. The two of them would start brawling as the crowd began to cheer. Faititili would gain advantage with a headbutt but both of them were hit in the head by the ladder as True North Ant knocked it over on them. Moros tried to climb back in the ring but TNA grabbed the ladder and hit him in the chest with it, sending him back to the floor. The ant man would hit both Faititili and Hunter with the ladder as they tried to get up. He dropped the ladder on the mat on top of Faititili. Scooping Hunter up, he slammed him on top of the ladder, squishing Faititili in the process.
The crowd cheered as TNA picked the ladder up and set it back up. He started climbing but Moros rolled into the ring and grabbing him from beneath hit a power bomb. Moros folded the ladder back up and placed it around his neck. He started spinning and hitting everyone else who dared to stand, catching all three in the side of the head. Showing signs of dizziness, Moros set the ladder back up and tried to climb but was unsteady on his feet. He made a second attempt to climb the ladder but Fatitili and Hunter knocked it over and Moros landed hard across the top rope. With Moros down once more, Hunter and Faititili folded the ladder back up and placed it in the middle of the ring. They both scooped TNA up and slammed him on top of the ladder. Both of them went to the top rope and Hunter hit a Swanton Bomb on top of the ant man, followed by a splash from Faititli.
Faittili and Hunter looked at one another and then back at the ladder, deciding what to do next. This moment of hesitation cost them both terrible, as Moros launched a second ladder from the arena floor into the ring and it caught them both, hard. Moros slid into the ring and grabbing the ladder he had just thrown slammed it down on both of them. He scooped Hunter up onto his shoulder and hit a Rolling DVD on top of one of the ladders, but in the process bashed his own head into one of the rungs. This stunned him just long enough for Hunter to recover and he caught Moros with a super kick as he rose to his knees.
Looking around, Hunter saw that all three of his opponents are down. Hunter set up the original ladder and started making the climb. The crowd started to cheer as he grew closer and closer, and his fingertips were just inches away from reaching the trophy. Suddenly several member of the MLWA roster, led by Bryant Adam Thompson, hit the ring and tipped the ladder over. Hunter went sailing over the top rope, to the floor below. Faititili, TNA and Moros were all sent out of the ring and the MLWA wrestlers went on guard as the Agents of Pain helped raise the ladder up. Thompson quickly climbed up it as the Agents held it in place king enough to grab the trophy.
The crowd booed as Thompson held the trophy above his head. He took a moment to bask in their discontent before tossing it to Agent D below him and dropping to the mat. The MLWA roster didn’t have time to celebrate their plan as the PWGP locker room emptied and charged towards the ring. Thompson and company made a hasty retreat back through the crowd as the PWGP wrestlers started sliding into the ring.
The show goes off the air with the MLWA wrestlers being chased out of the ring by several wrestlers, while Robert Fredrick and several other PWGP staff and wrestler at ringside. Fredrick could be heard saying that if MLWA wanted a war they were in for a war as the commentators signed off.
So in the meantime, and in between time… Good night, God bless and may the Force be with you!
