Welcome to PWGP “CHARGE”! The show opens with video taken on Wednesday, January 16, 2019. Backstage interviewer, Lauire Heeley is standing outside a boardroom and informs us that following “Glory Road: Battle Bowl II” a meeting was called between officials from Buck U Productions, the BUAC and representatives from both MLWA and PWGP. Rumours are running rapid over what this meeting intains but Heeley hopes to get the scoop for us right now.
The doors open and we see several individuals exiting, including Buck U Productions VP Dave Flynn, BUAC Spokesman Robert Fredrick and Greg Stradford. Stradford is shown departing in an upset state and refuses to make any comments at the time. Flynn and Fredrick, on the other hand, do make comments. MLWA has been purchased by Buck U Productions and their assets, including both championships, have been given to PWGP for their benefit. What this means will be shared further In the days to come as the takeover is made official and more information becomes available for the public. They both take their leave of Heeley before departing in the same direction as Stradford. Heeley puts over this huge announcement and signs off for this report.

We go live to the PWGP Exhibition Centre in heart of Winnipeg, Manitoba. We’re greeted to the show by our announce team, El Hombre Loco Enmascarado and Nick Christoulos. They emphasise the huge announcement we just heard from Laurie Heeley and wonder what this means for PWGp and MLWA talent alike. Nick hurries off to announce the opening match and Loco shouts at the television… because he’s crazy, I guess.

MATCH 1
PWGP Wings of Icarus Title Match
Kurt Thomchuck
(champion)
vs
Robbie “Red” Baron
(Referee: Eddie Tims)
The former champion, Baron, starts off fast and quick in the match, catching Thomchuck with a couple of drop kicks followed by a series of lightning quick arm drags. The champion rolls out of the ring to try to slow the pace, but gets caught with a springboard corkscrew plancha. The challenger seems to be in control as he throws his opponent back into the ring, but Thomchuck cuts him off as he rolls back in the ring and starts to attack the shoulder. He would slow the pace down and work over the arms for the next few minutes before Baron made a comeback and planted Thomchuck with a tornado DDT. Baron would attempt to win the match with a Shooting Star Press but Thomchuck would get his knees up just in time, knocking all the wind out of Baron. The champion would send Baron shoulder first into the ring post before locking him in the Crossface Chicken Wing and picking up the submission victory of the successful title defense.
Winner: AND STILL PWGP Wings of Icarus Champion, Kurt Thomchuck
Following the match, Thomchuck would shout at the crowd and proclaim himself the greatest lightweight wrestler in the world. He help up his title and challenged anyone to step up and try to take it from him, before leaving the ring and going to the back.

We go to the back were Laurie Heeley is standing by with “High Five” Jimmy Jive. She asks him about tonight’s main event, where he will face off with his son, James Daniels, in an “I Respect You” Match. Jive admits he wishes things had went better between him and his son and regrets things had to come to this. Tonight he’s going to beat some sense into his son’s head once and for all, after that though, he has no idea where to go from there. He walks off looking a bit torn and Heeley sends things back to ringside.

MATCH 2
Orville Newton
(0 points)
vs
The Big O
(0 points)
(Referee: Eddie Times)
A brief highlight package shows Big O’s recent change of heart, alongside the other members of the Bash Brothers, and how he was once friends with Orville Newton has turned into a bitter rivalry. Included in the footage was Big O attacking Newton following his failed attempt at regaining the PWGP Television Title at “Glory Days: Battle Bowl II” and Newton’s distract preventing Big O from advancing to Battle Bowl later in the evening.
The match itself never even happened as Newton was attacked by Big O while he was making his way down to the ring. Big O would throw his former friend off the stage before lifting him up and launching him head first into the ring steps. Big O would toss Newton into the ring and deliver a splash from the top rope. He would go for a second flying splash but officials and trainers would hit the ring and attempt to stop him. Big O looked like he would follow orders and climb down from the top rope but ultimately decided against it and officials had to leap out of harm’s way he came delivered a second splash. He screamed at Newton, blaming him for all this. Only then did he roll out of the ring and headed to the back while Newton was placed on a stretcher. As medical staff began to roll the stretcher away, Big O would reamerge and shoved them aside. He took the stretcher to the top of the ramp and with Newton strapped down and powerless to stop him, sent him flying off the side of the stage to the floor below.
With the crowd booing, Big O would finally headed to the back. A camera caught up with him, where he was confronted by security with orders to escort him out of the Exhibition Centre. Big O would begin attacking them and would soon be joined by the other Bash Brothers, Vlars and Axel Moros. The trio would leave all the members of the security team lying on the ground and disappeared before anymore could arrive, banging fists as they departed.

We go to Robert Fredrick’s office, where he’s watching what just transpired on his monitor and his telling someone on his phone that he wants The Bash Brothers found and kicked out of the building immediately. He’s interrupted by Saul Asper, MLWA Champion Bryant Adam Thompson and the MLWA Tag Team Champions, The Agents of Pain. Asper tries to push his weight around, as the manager of all three champions from MLWA, but Fredrick reminds him that the titles now fall under PWGP control and he threatens to strip of them off the titles and fired on the spot. He won’t though, as the BUAC has sanctioned a six man tag team match tonight featuring Thompson and the Agents against three of their rivals, Faititili, True North Ant and Philly Cheese Snake. If the Samoan Warrior and Strange Brew can defeat the championship trio here tonight, then next week we’ll see title matches for both the MLWA Tag Team Titles and the MLWA Title. This announcement angers the members of Asper’s Army and the quartet departs in a huff.

MATCH 3
PWGP Television Title Match
Moondog Buster
(champion, 2 points)
vs
Moondog Runt
(0 points)
(Referee: Andrew Roller)
At the beginning of the match Loco and Christoulos note it’s odd to see these tag team partners across the ring from one another. There’s a respectful vibe between the silent pair and they shake hands. Once the bell rings Runt dives right at Buster’s feet and the aged veteran find himself having to move quickly to dodge his much quicker opponent. Runt would continue to try to you his speed advantage while Buster looked for an opening. Once one showed itself the Television Champion flattened his tag team partner with an clubbing axe handle blow across Runt’s back and began to ground and pound his much younger opponent. The champion appeared to have everything well in handle until he whipped Runt into the corner and missed a charging clothesline. Runt would hit a series of series of punches, followed by a drop kick and finally a running headbut to the chest that finally took Buster down. Runt would then climb to the top rope and attempt a flying crossbody block but Buster would catch him and turn it into a powerslam to pick up the pinfall victory.
Winner: AND STILL PWGP Television Champion, Moondog Buster (4 points)
Following the match the Moondogs would hug and Runt would raise help his partner put the Television Title on before raising his hand. The crowd would offer the pair applause before Buster and Runt left to celebrate.
Meanwhile on a monitor in the back Gertrude Quest and the members of Surf ‘n Turf could be seen watching the conclusion of the match on the monitor and talking amongst themselves. Laurie Heeley approached and asked for comments and Quest stated that she was unhappy how her men didn’t hold any gold at the moment. She would turn and look back at the monitor where Moondog Buster was shown on the stage celebrating, and stated that was going to change very soon. She would bark at her followers and the quartet would depart to discuss their plans away from onlookers.

We go to Robert Fredrick’s office, where he is soon joined by the now former MLWA GM, Greg Stradford. The two men shake hands and Stradford gives Fredrick the PWGP Anniversary Cup back “as promised”. Fredrick is glad to see it and announces that the fourway match between Axel Moros, Faititili, Alan Hunter and True North Ant would take place next week for the Cup, unless Faititli and TNA would already occupied with matches for the MLWA titles, then he would have to think of something. This last statement about MLWA seemed to sting Stradford a bit. Fredrick offered him a position with PWGP once more, stating he believed him to an asset to any company he was apart of, but Stradford declined. He stated he had accepted a position with another wrestling project being overseen by Buck U Productions and the BUAC, which Robert Fredrick admitted to have heard about. The two shook hands and Greg Stradford departed.

MATCH 4
Funky Brew
(Faititili, True North Ant and Philly Cheese Snake)
vs
Asper’s Army
(MLWA Champion Bryant Adam Thompons and the MLWA Tag Team Champions, Agents B & D)
(Referee: Eddie Tims)
Prior to the match Loco and Christoulos put over the announcement we just heard about the Anniversary Cup finally being decided next week. Both announcers hoped this announcement wouldn’t take away from the focus Faititili and Strange Brew needed to have on this encounter because while winning the Anniversary Cup next week would be a big honour, getting a title shot at MLWA gold next week might be considered a bigger prize. They inform those watching that if Funky Brew wins tonight, Faititili will receive a shot at Bryant Adam Thompson for the MLWA Title and Strange Brew will challenge the Agents of Pain for the MLWA Tag Team Titles next week.
Thompson refuses to have anything to do with his former friend, Faititili, at the start of the match and did his best to avoid contact, going as far as to leap into the crowd to avoid contact with the Samoan warrior. The first few minutes of the match would be controlled by the Funky Brew with swift tags and combination moves that showed just how much chemistry the trio had developed over the last several months. At one point True North Ant would pull down the top rope, allowing Faititili and Philly to hit stereo diving planchas on all members of Asper’s Army.
The momentum would shift just moments later when Agent B, standing on the ring apron, would catch Faititili bouncing off the ropes with a knee to the back which allowed Agent D to hit a big boot and tag in Thompson, who was now more than willing to face the Samoan warrior. It would be the Army’s turn to prove what a well oiled machine they were, as they took turns wearing down Faititili. The Agents took great delight holding the former Television Champion so that Thompson could hit some of his stiff kicks and it was during one of these exchanges that Faititili was able to wiggle free from Agent B’s grip just as Thompson connected with the Agent’s chest with a spinning roundhouse kick.
Faititili would roll away from both Thompson and Agent D and managed to get to his corner to tag in Philly who hit a flying crossbody block one all three of their opponents. True North Ant would come in moments later and would steamroll the Agents with a double clothesline. Strange Brew would completely clear house and would the Red River Dip on Agent B but the pin would be broken up by Thompson and Agents D. TNA would be tossed from the ring and Asper’s Army would try to triple team Philly, only for the snake man to pull the top rope down, sending the Agents of Pain to the floor as well. Thompson would go after Philly, only to get super kicked by Faititli. Philly would tag Faititil back into the match bef on both Agents at ringside while they were fighting with True North Ant. Faititli would climb to the top rope and deliver a flying splash on Thompson to pick up the three count for the win and securing title matches for him and his partners.
Winners: Funk Brew
Faititili, Philly and TNA would celebrate in the ring, while their opponents would recover on the stage with Saul Asper at their side. Faititili would point at Thompson’s MLWA Title and motion that it would soon be around his waist. Thompson looked worried, hugging his championship tight, while the Agents yelled insults at Strange Brew and that their MLWA Tag Team Titles were going nowhere. The trio would back up the ramp while Faititili and Strange Brew continued to celebrate.

Back in Robert Fredrick’s office we see him telling one of his staff that next week would open withill the spots left vacant by Faititili and True North Ant in the Anniversary Cup fourway match. PWGP Global Champion, The Technician, and his manager, The Guru would enter. Guru and Fredrick spoke briefly about how Kraken was currently suspended for what he had done to referee Mark Lindsey last week and that he would be joining Mack Brody on a month long tour of PWGP’s sister promotion, BATTLE, once the suspension was ended. The champion demanded to be inserted into one of those matches but Fredrick denied him the op needed to keep him injury free for his title defense against Battle Bowl II, BOB, in two weeks. Neither Tech or his manager were particularly happy by the reminder of the match and Fredrick informed them both that he would be watching closely after that he witnessed at “Glory Bowl: Battle Bowl II” by the pair during the Global Title match against Sweet Daddy D. The pair acted like they were unaware of what Fredrick was implying but the BUAC was buying it.
The Champ and his manager took their leave and bumped into Alan Hunter. The two of them glared at one another and Hunter made a joke about cashing his Golden Opportunity for Tech’s Global Title when he least expected it. The Guru quickly ushered his client out of the office before anything else could be said between the two and Hunter turned to greet Robert Fredrick. The pair discussed next week’s Anniversary Cup Match and wishing him the best of luck, seeing as the winner would receive five points towards a Global Title shot as well as the trophy. Hunter was very excited by the announcement and promised to win next week.

Laurie Heeley is in the back with “Top Ten” James Daniels and asks him about the “I Respect You” Match against his father, Jimmy Jive, in just a few minutes. Daniels seems very withdrawn at the moment and states that he’s feeling a lot of emotions right now. He talks about how angry he has been with his father, who was absent for the better part of his life, and how thought embarrassing Jive and trying to end his career didn’t bring the satisfaction he had been hoping it would, just more frustration. Tonight he was going to take all his frustrations out on his old man and finally bury this issue once and for all. He walks off and we see him bumping into the members of the Bash Brothers. They have a stare down with one another before Axel and company depart, still trying to dodge security, and Daniels heads to the ring.
***
Prior to the main event we see a video package that goes over the history between Jimmy Jive and James Daniels, going all the way back to the first episode of “CHARGE” when Daniels looked on with disgust as his estranged father lost his match. We quickly see footage of Daniels attacking Jive at the first Battle Bowl, Jive defeating his son in a match with the stipulation that Daniels would have to become his tag team partner. The video goes on to show the team having both success and failure, as their different views on how to win matches would finally tear the team apart and lead to Daniels attacking his father a second time. This led to the “Retirement Match”, where Daniels would defeat Jive and then go on to win the Television Title. We would see that Jive would be hired by the BUAC as a PWGP referee and would officiate all his son’s title matches, with their differences leading to Daniels losing all the points he had earned as champion as a result of being disqualified by his father and ultimately leading to Daniels losing the Television Title to Orville Newton and attacking his father again. Jive would be reinstated to fight his son but their match would lead to a double disqualification, with both men clearly not able to settle their differences.
This leads us to tonight’s main event. Nick Christoulos announces to the crowd and everyone watching around the world that the following match will feature no disqualifications and no count outs. There must be a winner and the victory will go to the man who can make his opponent utter the words, “I Respect You!”
MAIN EVENT
MATCH 5
“I Respect You Match”
“High Five” Jimmy Jive
vs
“Top Ten” James Daniels
(Referee: Andrew Roller)
There is no feeling out process in this match. As soon as the bell rings the two competitors go right after each other, throwing fist. They grab one another and tumble between the ropes to the floor below. Daniels landed on top of his father and would hit a series of punches before grabbing the microphone from Roller and demanding Jive utter the words, but Jive poked him in the eyes in response and pushed his son off him. Jive would send his son into the ring steps, knees first, and would lock on a spinning toe hold. Daniels refused to say “I Respect You” and kicked his father into the barricade.
Daniels would get to his feet and charge at his father, with both of them going over the barricade and into the crowd. The two would begin to fight throughout the PWGP Exhibition Centre and amongst the fans. Jive and Daniels would send each other into rows of chairs and Jimmy would send his son back first into the sound area, causing a series of sound effects go go off. Throughout this all, Andrew Roller continued to ask both men whenever they appeared in trouble if they wanted to utter the infamous words, “I Respect You” but neither man was willing.
The match would return to the ringside area and Daniels would send his father into the ringpost, temporarily dazing him. Daniels would tie his father to the ring ropes with a some cord under the ring and then looked under the apron and produced a kendo stick. He demanded his father say “I Respect You”. When he wouldn’t, Daniels started wailing him with shots across the chest and sides with the kendo sticks, constantly demanding Jive utter the words that would end his suffering and the match as well. Jive continued to say no and Daniels finally toss the stick aside and grabbed a chair. There was a moment of hesitation from Daniels as he looked at the chair. He told Jive that he would bash his brains out if he didn’t say “I Respect You”, but Jive yelled at him “you’re going to have to do what you gotta do!” Daniels finally found the courage to swing the chair, but Jive managed to duck his head and the chair bounced back and hit Daniels in the face.
With Daniels down, Jive got one of the ringside attendants to free him from the cords. He picked up the kendo stick and turned towards his son. He asked Daniels to say “I Respect You” but Daniels refused. Jive hit him with the stick and asked again, but Daniels still refused. Jive would hit Daniels again, same answer. Jive, desperate to end this, started repeatedly hitting Daniels across the back with the stick and Daniels finally screamed out, “I RESPECT YOU! I RESPECT YOU!”
Winner: “High Five” Jimmy Jive
The crowd cheered as Andrew Roller called for the belling, ending one of the most violent matches in PWGP short history so far. Jive refused to have his hand raised in victory, instead going over to his son to check on him. At first Daniels shoved his father away, not wanting anything to do with him, but Jive grabbed him by the shoulders and spun him around. Jive could be heard saying, “I love ya, Jimmy,” and time seemed to stand still as these words sunk in. Daniels suddenly throw his arms around his father and the two men embraced. The crowd stood to their feet as the father and son continued to hug.
Jive would finally break free from his son and rolled into the ring. He called for his Daniels to join him into the ring and called for a microphone. Jive told the world that for the past year all he wanted to do was get his son back after all the mistakes he made when he was younger. He realizes that he and his boy, “Jimmy” had put each other through hell this past year but he hopes that tonight finally brings an end to their fighting and the two of them can be family again. He and Daniels hug again, while the crowd starts to cheer loudly.
Jive holds up his hand to silence the crowd and says he’s got an announcement to make. Before he can make it though, The Bash Brothers hit the ring and attack both men. Daniels gets tossed aside and the trio of Axel Moros, Vlars and Big O concentrate on Jive. Vlars grabs a table from under the ring while Axel hits the Rolling Death Valley Driver on Jive. The trio lay Jive on top of the table and Big O climbs to the top rope. Daniels knocks him from the top rope and goes after the other two but receives a Puke Bucket Stunner from Vlars for his troubles. Big O climbed to the top rope while Vlars and Moros watch as Big O climbs back to the top rope and hit the splash, putting Jive through the table.
Security, or what’s left of them, finally hit the ring along with several members of the roster. The Bash Brother look like they’ll try to fight everyone off, but choose instead to roll out of the ring and exit through the crowd. Meanwhile medics and officials check over both Jive and Daniels, who are both a bloody mess. Daniels crawls over to his father and holds him while glaring off towards were The Bash Brothers had headed. The program goes off the air with Daniels muttering to himself and holding his father while they’re both being attended to.
… so in the meantime and in between time, Good night, God bless and may the Force be with you.
-Quack Attack (Ricky, Nicky and Dicky)| defeated Capt Gill Baits, MANDINGO and Unknown I, pinning Unknown I following The Marsh Dive.
-David Lee Sellers and Duke Womack defeated Things Uno and Dos with a power bomb and neck breaker combination.
-Firefly defeated Jeremy Squires to become win the vacant “King of the Dark Match” crown, previously held by The Big O before he “lost it” (aka Squires found it discarded in the back and reclaimed it).
