JAKE AARONS: This opening match here on Mane Event is a fifteen minute Iron Man Challenge, and it is the second match in the Best of 3 Series in which Ben Chrenshaw leads one match to zero. Introducing first already in the ring from London, England! He weighs in at two hundred and thirteen pounds! He is the SILENT ASSASSIN! BEN CHRENSHAW!
Chrenshaw steps forward, raising his arm with a smirk as the fans boo.
JAKE AARONS: His opponent also in the ring from Leksand, Sweden! He weighs in at one hundred and seventy five pounds! He is MR. MATT WRESTLING! MATT PULVER!
Pulver doesn't play to the crowd too much, instead he stretches out his injured leg.
JAKE AARONS: Your referee for this contest is Cordell Garner!
MANDEVILLE NELSON: Greetings, wrestling fans! Tonight is such an action packed episode of Mane Event that we're rocking and rolling from the very start!
The bell sounds and Ben Chrenshaw goes for an ankle pick right off the start, but Matt Pulver backs up and smiles before patting his leg a couple of times. The two lock-up and jockey for position, with Chrenshaw backing him into the ropes. Referee Cordell Garner calls for a break, but Ben Chrenshaw takes his sweet time and breaks at four... then slaps Pulver in the face! Pulver blows his top and grabs Chrenshaw in a clinch and tries to fire off some shots, but Chrenshaw wisely closes the gap between them and the two battle along the ropes until Garner can get in between and orders them to separate. Both fighters go to their respective corners with Pulver looking mighty pissed and Chrenshaw... well, if you guessed he was smiling - you'd be right. The two lock-up once more, and Pulver tries to go behind but gets thumped by two consecutive forearms and backed into the ropes. He sets him up for the ride, but Pulver reverses it and slams Chrenshaw into the mat with a Northern Lights suplex! Chrenshaw arches his back in pain on the mat while Pulver crawls away holding his leg in pain.
BASTIAN KRULL: We're a week removed from their Best of 3 Falls match last week where Ben Chrenshaw spent the duration of the match just dissecting young Matt Pulver's leg, and you can see the effect it had on him because he's still favouring it after hitting that beautiful Northern Lights suplex.
Pulver yanks him to his feet and whips him into the corner! Chrenshaw hits hard, but Pulver grabs him again and sends him into the opposite corner! Chrenshaw staggers out holding his back and Pulver drives a forearm into it. Chrenshaw falls to his knees and Pulver hops on top, applying a reverse chinlock. Chrenshaw tries to get up, but Pulver releases the hold and leaps into the air, driving all his weight down onto his back! He reapplies the chinlock, and Chrenshaw reaches for the ropes as the two minute mark passes and we're down to thirteen minutes. Pulver releases the hold and leaps into the air with the intention of driving his weight into Chrenshaw's back again, but Chrenshaw quickly rolls over and gets his knees up! Pulver goes groin first into his knees and rolls away in all kinds of pain.
CHAD GOMEZ: Ouch! I hope he wasn't planning on partying after the matches, he's going to need an ice pack after that inadvertent low blow!
MANDEVILLE NELSON: May not have been inadvertent, I have to believe a man like Ben Chrenshaw knows exactly what he's doing. This might be a good strategy though, guys, Pulver's momentum is going to get halted by the three minute recuperation period and even if Chrenshaw gets disqualified - he's down one fall with twelve and a half minutes to go against a man with a bad leg.
CHAD GOMEZ: Easy pickings!
Pulver recuperates in the corner as Garner pulls out a yellow card.
JAKE AARONS: Referee Cordell Garner has issued Ben Chrenshaw a yellow card - his first public warning!
After thirty seconds, Pulver signals he's ready to go and Garner calls for the clock to be started up again. With twelve and a half to go, Pulver charges Chrenshaw who ducks underneath, hits the ropes and comes back with a dropkick to the knee! Pulver goes down hard, flipping to the mat. Chrenshaw rolls out onto the apron and climbs the ropes, then steadies himself as Pulver rolls into perfect position... Chrenshaw leaps off looking for a leg drop... NOBODY HOME! Pulver stumbles to his feet and grabs a leg, but the former Heritage Champion rears back and boots him in the face! Pulver falls into the corner as the four minute mark passes. Chrenshaw gets up, ready to attack but Pulver kicks him in the leg instead! Pulver is fired up! Chrenshaw is trying to get away, but Pulver is lighting him up with kicks to the thigh! Chrenshaw lifts his leg to avoid it, but Pulver sweeps his other foot from underneath him! The crowd pops huge as Pulver turns Chrenshaw over with a single leg crab - the Wrinkle in Time, but Pulver puts his own spin on it and applies an arm bar also! Chrenshaw grunts in pain, but drapes his free leg across the bottom rope to break the hold.
JAKE AARONS: Five minutes gone by, five minutes.
Pulver drags Chrenshaw by the leg into the middle of the ring and drops a knee on it, then gets up and does it again. Pulver looks outside the ring, then at the fans... and drags Chrenshaw over to the ropes, then jumps out of the ring, he pulls Chrenshaw's leg out over the ring apron and smashes it down! Chrenshaw cries out in pain and rolls back into the ring, Pulver turns and soaks in the crowd reaction before sliding back in. Chrenshaw tries to cheap shot him as he gets to his feet, but Pulver blocks it and nails him with a forearm! He backs Chrenshaw into the ropes, shoots him into the opposite set and ducks down... but Chrenshaw slams him head first into the mat! Chrenshaw drops down to the mat and slams him into the mat again! Pulver rolls out of the ring onto the runway, and Chrenshaw reaches over and pulls him up... he drapes him over the top rope and climbs up onto the second rope then to the third... dropping a leg across the back of his neck! Pulver slumps into the ring and Chrenshaw immediately clamps on a rear chinlock.
BASTIAN KRULL: I get the sense that Ben Chrenshaw is playing with his food so to speak. There's been sequences in the action where I've felt that he could've easily pinned Pulver and taken a lead, but he's just swatting the youngster around.
CHAD GOMEZ: Yeah, but Chrenshaw is in complete control - any spurt of offence that Pulver has pieced together... Ben Chrenshaw has had a way of shutting it down.
Pulver is cheered back to life, as he slowly forces Chrenshaw back to a vertical base and begins elbowing away to the gut. Chrenshaw is backed into the corner and Pulver breaks free, the Babyfaced Wrestling Machine Irish whips Chrenshaw into the opposite corner and charges in... BOOT TO THE FACE! Pulver blindly stumbles away and Chrenshaw smiles as the fans boo. Pulver charges back in, and Chrenshaw ducks out of the way... Pulver soars over the top rope and to the floor.
MANDEVILLE NELSON: Oh my! Do keep in mind, fans, that is NOT a disqualification. Matt Pulver went over the top rope and to the floor by his own momentum, Ben Chrenshaw had no contact whatsoever with him on that one.
Chrenshaw rolls out, peels Pulver off the ground and sends him back in. Ben Chrenshaw takes a Pulver sign in the front row and rips it up before laughing in the fan's face, he grabs the middle rope and climbs it underneath it. He grabs Pulver rising to his feet in a front face lock and snaps him over with a suplex. He climbs on top...

KICK OUT!
Chrenshaw doesn't protest the count, but instead clamps on a front face lock and again pulls Pulver up to his feet... signalling to the fans his intention of suplexing him again. This brief display costs him though, as he attempts to suplex Pulver but it's blocked! He tries again... no such luck! Pulver musters up some energy... NORTHERN LIGHTS SUPLEX! Pulver slowly and groggily rolls them both to a vertical base, looking for a second one... but Chrenshaw lifts his knee and drills Pulver in the solar plexus and lets him fall to the mat.
JAKE AARONS: Ten minutes gone by, ten minutes!
Chrenshaw lets Pulver start pulling himself up with the ropes before he clamps on a sleeper hold and drags him back into the middle of the ring, Pulver tries to fight it but his legs get weaker and he falls down to one knee but the rallying fan support begin bringing him to life again. Chrenshaw clamps it on deeper to squeeze the second breath out of him, but Pulver continues fighting it and gets to his feet. He grabs Chrenshaw's head and delivers a jawbreaker! However, the effect of the choke don't allow him to capitalize on it. Chrenshaw smirks as he's leaned up against the ropes and watches Pulver stagger to his feet on wobbly legs, Pulver swings wildly but Chrenshaw ducks it and jabs him. Pulver gets turned around and tries to rail him with another forearm strike, but Chrenshaw ducks it again! Chrenshaw chuckles as he winds up for a big right hand.... PULVER BLOCKS IT!
BASTIAN KRULL: He kicks his legs up and around, CRUCIFIX PIN! PULVER MIGHT HAVE HIM!

BASTIAN KRULL: HE GOT HIM!
JAKE AARONS: Matt Pulver has scored a fall! There are three minutes remaining in this match!
Chrenshaw is up to his feet before Pulver and drives his knee into Pulver as he's getting back to his feet, Pulver slumps back into the corner and Chrenshaw begins pounding away with time ticking down! Chrenshaw begins delivering multiple knees to the midsection and then Pulver slumps forward and eats a knee to the head! Chrenshaw backs off and lets Pulver flop to the mat, he rolls him onto his back and covers!

FOOT ON THE ROPE!
With only two minutes remaining, Chrenshaw smirks as he gets up and looks down at the foot on the rope... he leaps into the air and stomps on Pulver's bad leg! Pulver rolls away holding it, but Chrenshaw steps on it and stomps it again! He pulls the leg up off the mat and slams it down! Chrenshaw laughs as Pulver cries out in pain, then grabs both legs and turns him over for the Boston crab! Chrenshaw uses the hold to establish his balance and wrenches the hold in to a ridiculous degree - almost like a Liontamer. He finally lets go of a leg and the Wrinkle in Time is applied and Pulver tries to inch toward the ropes.
JAKE AARONS: ONE MINUTE REMAINING! ONE MINUTE!
Pulver raises his hand into the air and reaches for the rope, but it's out of reach... Pulver grabs his head in a world of pain and stretches his arm out... looking to grab the ropes again, but still out of reach. He holds his hand high and looks like he's come to the conclusion that he's going to have to tap, but loud PLEASE DON'T TAP chants begin permeating the venue and Pulver's hand stops in midair! Chrenshaw shakes his head violently as Pulver tries to power out of it, but Chrenshaw drives his knee into Pulver's back forcing him to tap as the bell sounds!
CHAD GOMEZ: Pulver tapped!
BASTIAN KRULL: There's no denying that, I don't blame the kid one bit considering the shape his leg is in after last week but there seems to be some confusion...
MANDEVILLE NELSON: Hold up.
Aarons and Garner are talking to each other as Mandeville Nelson rushes to them with his tablet in hand. Chrenshaw sits in the corner smiling as Pulver is writhing in pain on the mat. Garner watches Nelson's tablet intently and then nods, he speaks to Aarons and then Aarons raises the microphone to his lips.
JAKE AARONS: After video review, referee Cordell Garner has determined that Matt Pulver did in fact tap out... but he did so AFTER the bell had rung.
Holy shit, that was a loud pop.
JAKE AARONS: THEREFORE YOUR WINNER OF THE IRON MAN CHALLENGE... MATT PULVER!
Chrenshaw gets to his feet and backs Garner into the corner, making the tap motion while Garner explains the situation to him. The Silent Assassin isn't exactly in the listening mood and grabs Garner by the collar... King of the Lions Champion Robb Daniels rushes into the ring and grabs Ben Chrenshaw, who nearly takes his head off with a swing. Daniels steps back and then tells Chrenshaw to calm down. Chrenshaw nods as Daniels tells him it isn't worth it to hit Garner, "don't lose your cool". Chrenshaw smirks and the two watch as Pulver pulls himself up to his feet, Daniels chop blocks him from behind! The two men begin putting the boots to Pulver as the crowd boos the hell out of them! Jack Rose and Kenshin Takamura rush the ring and chase the heels off, Daniels and Chrenshaw high five on the outside as Takamura checks on Pulver while Rose is daring the two men to get into the ring. Of course, Chrenshaw and Daniels do not oblige his request and instead turn away and head to the back.
CHAD GOMEZ: There's a dangerous alliance if I've ever seen one, Bastian - Robb Daniels and Ben Chrenshaw!? Damn!
BASTIAN KRULL: For sure, those two are very similar - they're both talented in ring tacticians and very, very dangerous because of their willingness to win by any means necessary. However, that trio in there...?
CHAD GOMEZ: Yeah, yeah... THE STREAK!
BASTIAN KRULL: That's right, the Streak! They're just as good!
MANDEVILLE NELSON: Back at the booth, that was an exciting turn of events wasn't it? I thought the bell rang before he tapped, but I had to watch the replay to be sure and that was the point of contention between Jake Aarons and Cordell Garner. Aarons thought the bell rang after he tapped, and Garner said it was before. We reviewed it on the tablet, and Garner made the call - Matt Pulver is your winner and these two men will face off one more time at Beach Blast!
BASTIAN KRULL: And we'll have the stipulation for that one revealed later tonight!
- COMMERCIAL BREAK -
