CHARACTER INFORMATION
NAME - White Phoenix
ALIAS - N/A
AGE - Unknown (physically appears to be in early-mid 20s)
FROM - Parts Unknown
HEIGHT & WEIGHT - Approximately 6’1”, 227 lbs.
ALIGNMENT - Face
AFFILIATION - No known previous associatons within Lions Road.
COMBAT EXPERIENCE - Exact experience unknown; has been in HELL Lucha Libre for a year, and looked experienced then.
BIOGRAPHY -The name “White Phoenix” has, for years, been associated with the innovative high flyer that wowed crowds around the world for nearly 20 years before fading into retirement.
This...is not that person. Instead, this White Phoenix, bearing the blessing of the original, is a hard hitting update on his predecessor, who has primarily worked in Mexico’s HELL Lucha Libre as ⅓ of the “High Flying Heroes.” Wanting to break out on his own in America, he’s now come to Lions Road.
AESTHETIC INFORMATION
PIC BASE -Body of (non-tattooed) Eddie Edwards, mask is similar to Hayabusa.
CASUAL ATTIRE - Some form of semi-formal slacks, with button down shirt and black blazer. Wears his mask at all times.
RING ATTIRE - Shimmering white tights, with golden accents in the style of a phoenix-esque bird, and a mask which surrounds his face. White/gold boots.
ENTRANCE ATTIRE - A long, shimmering white coat, with gold accents and a high collar; the coat has a small velcro Phoenix-design shaped latch in the middle. Visually similar to the entrance attire worn by Sin Cara.
ENTRANCE THEME - “Eagleheart” by Stratovarius (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCnn7WEQIDI)
DESCRIPTION - The soaring tune of Stratovarius’ “Eagleheart” plays as White Phoenix steps out from the Lion’s Mouth, white spotlights shining upon him. He looks around, pointing to a section of fans before proceeding down the aisle to the ring. Reaching the apron, he climbs up to the second rope on the outside of the ring, waving his arms to try and hype up the crowd before jumping over the top and down into the ring. After a moment, he removes his jacket and stretches, preparing for the match.
WRESTLING INFORMATION
WEAPONS - In times of great strife, or during hardcore matches, Phoenix has been known to use the classic tactic of “throwing a fireball” at his opponents. This, however, is rare, and the only traditionally “hardcore” item in his wrestling toolkit.
FIGHTING STYLE - It would be a cop-out (and possibly reductive) to refer to Phoenix’s style as “all-around.” However, his base training pulls from the Americanized “strong style” of hard striking and power moves. His time in Mexico has been spent with lucha legend El Heroé Azul and technical/amateur wizard El Búho. And he’s had American high flying expertise lent to him by the original White Phoenix. So...kind of an “all-arounder.”
SPECIAL MOVES -
Finisher 1: Into Ashes (double under hook power bomb/Tiger Driver)
Finisher 2: Burn Out (Octopus Stretch)
Big Match/Desperation Finisher: Final Fire (Tiger Suplex, held and rolled into a second, bridging Tiger Suplex; the roll is similar to the Chaos Theory German Suplex.)
SIGNATURE MOVES -
1. Psycho Crusher (Springboard Twisting European Uppercut)
2. Phoenix Wings (Full Nelson, transitioned into a Russian Legsweep while maintaining the hold)
3. Blow Out (Double Wrist Clutch Dropkick To The Chest)
4. First Fire (Occasionally used at the start of the match, but rarely otherwise; running “shotgun” dropkick)
5. The Fatal Five (Combo; pendulum back breaker, vertical suplex, senton splash, rolling elbow smash to the back of opponent’s head, bridging Tiger Suplex)
ORDINARY MOVES
European Uppercut
Springboard Back Elbow
Kneelift/Spinning Neckbreaker Combo
Springboard Sunset Flip
Bridging Backdrop Suplex
Jumping Double Kneelift
Slingshot Plancha
Tope Con Hilo
Grapevine Leg Lock
Fujiwara Armbar
COUNTER MOVES -
Corner run-up back elbow (if whipped into corner)
Sunset flip (countering a bent over opponent)
Inverted variation on Blow Out (countering when opponent has him in a waistlock; breaks the hold them grabs wrists, flipping forward to hit the dropkick portion of move)
Irish whip counters; slide under opponent, slide under bottom rope, Tiger Feint (a “619” style kick without opponent), Psycho Crusher (rarer than the others)
